Trust me this is much harder than he made it look. Especially if the ground is not level. These campers are heavy, I've been truck camping for 20 plus years now and I still have problems loading my camper on uneven ground. Thanks for sharing. I NEVER once thought about storing stuff in front of the fender well, thanks for that tip. That's a lot of weight on single wheel but I'm sure you know what you're doing.

Me and the wife want to start traveling and purchased our first Lance Squire 4000 to do so and I made a huge mistake to buy before even buying tie downs or the support bars that bolt on the frame of truck. So we ended up getting 3000 lb straps to take it home and we did and got it home safe.

All good. Check your lights before you lower camper. Camper wiring harness sometimes not making full connection. Put truck in neutral with e brake applied (auto or stick). Allows camper to seat properly (you should see truck move slightly forward as camper rests)without stressing bed front,camper or rubber bumpers/wood .

When you drive with camper on truck is it normal for truck to lean over some as you turn right or left? Did you add bigger sway bar or other to have a more solid suspension?!? Please help thank you and awesome channel

Yes camper sway is very normal and has more to do with tire bulge than suspension. That’s why dually trucks are more popular in the TC world. We have overload springs in addition to a custom spring pack. Sway bars are cool too but they severely limit axle articulation. My recommendation is to find a shop that makes custom spring packs, bring them the truck fully loaded with camper, water fuel, food, clothes and toys. That usually costs around $1,500 and will outperform most airbag setups.

Great helpful video for a new slide on truck camper owner. Was that a rug you stored up front drivers side bed? I like your truck, mine is a regualr cab restored 1972 Chevy 3/4 ton LB. I'll need new mirrors but probably not west coast like you have, they look nice on your truck. Gonna bing watch your channel, good stuff, liked and subbed.

Wow I’m so glad I found your vid. I have almost same truck, same color but mine is an automatic D250 not 4x4. But as clean as your with 148,000 miles on my Cummins Turbo Diesel… Can you please tell me where or area on chassis you bolted on the support bars and also the name of company that sells these metal support bars please

The tie down system is made by torklift. It comes with instructions on how to install everything. Frame mounted tie downs are key. We need to make a video about this…

Yes guys your gonna need air bags for a even ride I have a Dodge 3500 1Ton single rear wheel and my truck drops a good three to four inches

Just an FYI: There's a loose wire or something in the mic on your camera. I'm listen with good headphones and it's almost painful. :) Overdubbing was fine.

And when you go to tie down the cab over truck with the metal tie down do fasten them like really tight or is wood supposed to crackle??? Or is that too tight at that point?!? Thanks

You shouldn't be hearing wood crackle, that is too tight. Ours spin to adjust the tightness. You want just snug, not over tight.

Look into the fast gun tie downs by torklift. They have a spring inside that allows the frame to twist while keeping tension on everything. They even include a rubber grommet to mark the proper tension.

I have a truck camper and I’m afraid to load it onto my truck it fell over once before it had the pos stable lift system and it ripped out my flooring in the right side I installed new jacks but I’m afraid of dropping my camper again or smashing my truck

We almost tipped ours over once when a leg buckled, very scary experience. Just do your best to be on level ground and take your time to make sure all legs are moving to keep it level. Go slow and you should be fine.

@@DestinatioNow that stabile lift system I had on was missing a bolt on the right side so the frame was able to fold the the bottom tubbing as I drove over the support rails in the front I pulled forward to readjusts and then slow fell to one side
