I feel really elegant whenever u say “my dear elegant ladies” . 😘

I used to get made fun of for wearing high heels to school and skirts because everyone was in jeans and sneakers and baggy t shirts and tank tops. I became embarrassed and changed to fit in, but now that I’m 20 and comfortable with who I am I love dressing up everyday !

Elegance = appropriate for the time and place: formal elegance, casual elegance, hiking through a jungle elegance.

When teaching my young daughter how to set the table, I explained that the edge of the knife must always face the dinner plate so that no one gets hurt. That is the essence of good manners… to minimize negative and hurtful emotions in others. Some examples: Jealousy is dangerous for many reasons and we want to minimize the chances of making someone jealous. And many women feel uncomfortable in the presence of another woman wearing clothing which directs sexual attention to her in mixed company, for example. It is good to be respectful of others. I love pearls, real pearls have many different colors in them and look rich, lustrous, and enhance a woman’s skin. There is a reason why pearls are classic and have always been so desired.

My grandma was very elegant. She used to do her fine laundry on mid-high heals and wear hosiery at all times, even in summer. One more thing she used to do was to wear a beautiful scarf on her hair when going out on windy days or days where there was a lot of dust outside. She was incredible careful with her hair and her hair was always very clean and had a wonderful smell. I always loved her shoes and her purses. She was so classy in all aspects.... I love pearls so much, specially only good quality, real pearls. I will never, ever wear fake pearls. Thank you for another wonderful video🌺

I have always worn pearls ….I believe they are extremely elegant and classic…. there are also many different style of pearls and I think they all add a very special feminine touch 💕

I have always been impressed by how women used to dress in the -early 1960’s. They spent time pulling a look together and looked head to toe polished and feminine. Much attention was paid to how clothes fit, the quality of fabric and it being well made. The majority of women wore girdles regardless of their weight ( talk about uncomfortable!), heavy duty support bras, pantyhose, and slips with skirts and dresses. Undergarments were made to suck, tuck, and mold the female body into an hourglass shape. Fashion now has gone in completely the opposite direction. Cheaply made clothing of poor quality and no regard for fit. Loose sloppy looking shirts, crop tops , holey jeans, skirts and dresses worn with bare legs. Clothes are designed for comfort not style.

Ladies, my employer sent us to finishing school. The appropriate manners, the untaught customs, having my colors done, applying subtle make up, learning modest and demure behavior, has released career success for me. The business and human resources look for the keys that are taught here as being desirable traits of well-employed people. The keys that get you in the door!

Generally speaking, after a certain age bare legs are hard to pull off. Veins become much more noticeable, skin is not as firm, and it just doesn't look as nice as wearing hosiery.

I totally agree, When I know I will be walking a lot, I wear pristine white sneakers with khakis and a polo shirt or with dark jeans and a cashmere sweater, I don't think that sneakers are not elegant, it's the way they look and how they are integrated into an outfit.

Why I continue watching this channel? 😄 I don't chase rich men, I think I'm well off in terms of elegance and the way I dress, but I come and watch every video from 1st minute till the very end. Why? Three things here: Anna looks beautiful, Anna speaks beautiful (her voice kinda calms me down), and she sometimes speaks about obvious things that I don't mind hearing over and over again. Balance is key, and there’s a time and place fir everything.

I’ve always loved and worn pearls. I wore them when I was young when nobody else wore them but secretly wanted to. I wear three strands sometimes and a string of pearls around my wrist. I do believe pearls are for the day and diamonds are to be worn at night but diamonds can be worn in the day as well. My thoughts are that if you are wearing what you love in a tasteful manner or it happens to look great on you then you are enjoying being a woman and expressing your true sense of style and that my friends is what all ladies want to do. That is how beautiful trends get started (not tacky ones). Being a woman is a great gift and I don’t want to dress like the status quo but in the direction my imagination leads me.

I strongly disagree about your opinion on pearls. A lot of young fashionable classy women wear pearls. It depends on the style. Pearls are elegant especially the gem quality ones like South sea pearls.

I was taught elegance by a grande dame, my grandmother from NYC, and sometimes my tastefully and elegant style made people in the west and midwest of the USA uneasy!

I am 46 and definitely think it is good to stay on top of trend BUT make sure it works for your body and is tailored for you. Mixing classic pieces with things that are modern is a great way to make sure you're not getting into an old lady rut.

The point about the hat surprized me a lot. I was always taught, that wearing a hat inside is rude and impolite (I‘m german-polish). My family as well as school were very strict about this. Wearing a hat during dinner would have never crossed my mind!

I love pearls!I I think we can update their look by getting creative and wearing them in unconventional ways. For example,we can wear a pearl necklace as a bracelet or hair accessory. Love pearls, they go with everything & add class. When i'm in a hurry & don't have time to pick & choose, i tend to grab pearls, easy choice.

I have found sizing up with Spanx or similar items makes them far more bearable and actually smoother...however them or hose in Arizona when it’s 110 or more 🥵 may not happen! And yes, a pair of drop pearl earrings would look amazing with what you have on! Flight attendants always have two pairs of shoes, one for in airport when people can see their feet and a comfortable pair on the plane when they don’t but still in compliance.

She wore pearls and is a fashion icon - maybe not always lady-like but she did land a billionaire ;) I used to work on Rodeo Drive as a stylist and I agree with all of your fashion tips - but I encourage you to wear your pearls!! When I was doing my A Levels in high school, stocking were part of our school uniform. It was a must for us girls to wear them even during the summer or in winter when we were wearing slacks. I have a very long strand of pearls which are worn knotted in the middle, makes a lovely accent with a solid colored sweater dress.

My previous employers dress code at work was hosiery for women if wearing dresses. It was a pain at first but it makes you look very polished and legs look good too!

I am usually not worried at all about how I dress, I don't buy clothes, I don't like expensive brands (for me Zara is already expensive for such a bad quality! haha), I spend all day at home or at the library studying my degree. Hi Anna just for me, my rules: No bare legs, I do wear pearls from time to time and I love them.

Nude stockings really help smooth out your legs and if you've just shaved they can help hide those little bumps. It also helps with chafing of the thighs if you're a bit bigger. I always consider tights to look a lot more dressed than bare legs. Also, this should be a season for pearls! I know you saw them everywhere on the runway, so I think you can get away with wearing them :)

As soon as you mentioned sandals I was instantly reminded of my friend who arrived at a christmas eve day party in a gorgeous dress, coat, elegant hair and makeup and ruined it all by wearing high-heeled sandals and stockings. In my culture it is seen as something extremely innappropriate and I felt so bad for her because I could see people staring.

I wear slight v necks. Mainly because with my body type I find too much covering up actually draws more attention to my bust. Where the slight v makes it less noticeable.

I actually love wearing spanx and compression wear. They create a nice smooth silhouette especially with clingy fabrics. I also have back & hip problems and compression wear actually helps with that as well.

The key to SPANX is for it to be comfortable you MUST MUST MUST go UP One or even TWO SIZES.... IN the summer, I put on my spanx at around 6:40 am to go to work, have it on all day...and get home at 6:00 pm and I am comfortable cause I GO UP TWO SIZES.....you still get the SUPPORT but it is not SKIN TIGHT!!!! Spanx go UP 2 sizes especially if you are PEAR SHAPED....One Size if not hippy.

I remember going to a plastic surgeon after I had my baby in 2008. I also remember having my spanx on under my dress and I felt like Samantha in STC when she had the Plastic Surgeon marked her up like Thanksgiving Turkey when she was done with her appt. I was put into a place where I was forced too take a long hard look at myself. I lost 45 lbs. No surgeon or person did that, other than me.

Your comment on how certain people might have an extreme apprach to elegance made me think, and while it is fine to have a very strict approach to these subjects , if it only applies to one's own person, I find extremism in the way we might judge others on how elegant or not they might be is definitely not elegant. And it makes me appreciate even more your work and your approach, because even when you have a clear idea on a subject, it does not come across as extreme or judgmental. I do not tick all the boxes in the ideal elegant lady rulebook, but watching your work is always a pleasure and gives me food for thought, and I try to implement what is possible given my reality and my personality as well.
