lovely videos, Please can you do a video on all the social benefits available to new immigrants landing in New Brunswick ranging from child care benefits, etc. Thanks!
Hi Olu, thanks for your interesting videos about New Brunswick. I'm planning on coming over for a grad program and I'm happy to have come across your channel.😊
Thanks so much for your videos. It was helpful in making a decision as to where to settle in New Brunswick . I have been in Moncton over a year now and it’s been very great.
Please between diploma social work and health care administration which one is preferable? I'm finding it hard deciding on one. I'd really appreciate a response thanks
Thanks, Olu! We're thinking about moving because of the affordable housing. Would love to know your thoughts about the differences between the three big cities in NB.
Hi, Sure I can do that. I went to Fredericton a while ago and I love the city. Will share a video and what i discovered pretty soon. And hopefully talk about Saint John as well
Moncton is the largest and fastest growing city. Very large multicultural population compared to the other cities. Fredericton is a government town, not a large city and not nearly as large as Moncton or Saint John. Saint John is on some hard times, but if you are in for the long haul, dirt cheap properties and the view of the ocean and trails are unbeatable. Moncton though is the most diverse and fastest growing economy. We moved close to moncton five years ago, we have land so don't live in the cities, but its growing all the time. Mountain Road now has international grocery stores all up it. Asian and african. Just found a great african store, ogbono and fufu and all the things I never thought I'd see after leaving ontario. And its likely only going to grow faster. Housing prices are starting to creep up, so now is the time to do it. Saint John is reputed as the 'friendliest city in New Brunswick'. Its mostly english and blue collar, but as I said, its hit hard times. Most of the affluent people live outside it in Rothesay and other towns just outside the border. But if you like to see the ocean, thats the place to be. Its also the warmest part of the province. Moncton has the 'tidal bore' which is a tidal river that comes up with high tide, and down when it goes out, but its brown so not real pretty and people don't really go into the water. Beaches and oceans are not real far though, neither is Nova Scotia or PEI.
I love your enthusiasm and hope people are nice to you and your family because I personally do when I see new immigrants here in New Brunswick I like to make them feel at home and knowing that people of colour are not the norm here. But to me all are welcome Bye the way how is your French level now ? Just to let you know my primary language is French.
That's so thoughtful of you Christian. thank you for showing love and support and being open to immigrants 😊 My French is at level zero 😄😄. I am hoping I get to learn sometime soon. Merci Monsieur 😊
Awesome! I look forward to your videos. I plan on moving to Moncton by April. Which neighborhoods do you recommend? Especially considering school quality. I have 2 kids ( age 5 and 3). Secondly🙂, how can I rent an apartment prior to arrival?
Congratulations on your move Udochi. I know its a lot of planning and preparation 😊 I'll say everywhere is pretty great in moncton for kids, you may want to avoid downtown area because its typically busy with active night life. Consider riverview, Dieppe or Moncton North end. There are some apartment agencies, most common is Skyline or Killam properties. You can Google them and send them a mail. Send me a dm on my Instagram if you need specific information. Instagram handle is lifeinnewbrunswick Thanks 😊
Hi Olu... I just stumbled on your channel today. You already made me fall in love with Moncton. I can’t wait to come there. Hopefully soon, I got an admission into NBCC Woodstock campus but I doubt if I will like it there considering the fact that I am a Lagos babe 😀hopefully I can change my campus to Moncton when I arrive by God’s grace. Fingers crossed 🤞🏿
I do hope you would read my comment. I got an admission in a school in Ontario but my friend in Moncton is advising me to come over there and change schools to schools in moncton. She said so much same thing as you have highlighted in your videos. I will be coming this January. I have cold feet, I hope it will be a beautiful decision. Thanks for your videos
My reasons are: more security than in my city in Mexico, nice people, english and french, multicultural, a bigger city than Frederciton, affordable housing, etc.
Hi Olu, I and my family want to relocate to Canda from the uk, we are confused about the province to settle in, but I think you have convinced me to move to Moncton . I will be coming to study. I hope they have african stores? Thanks
Hi, thanks for sharing pls kindly advise me on province to source for job or process my visa as a lady in automobile mechanic. Really wishes to move to Canada before the end of this year. Thanks a lot
Hello Olu, Thank you for the videos. Planning to move to Moncton and your videos are very useful. Would you mind commenting on mosquitoe situation in Moncton. Is it a problem? Thank you.
Pls suggest in nova Scotia or new brunswick if choose for diploma in accounting and finance than which options is better have better advantage in job opportunities and pr policies for my son coming after 12th
Hi Ravi. Not sure what options are in Nova Scotia as I've never lived there, but in moncton, there are quite a few banking, accounting and finance jobs. One of the major banks in canada have their finance headquarters here in Moncton. For PR, New Brunswick has a new immigration policy for anyone that schooled in New Brunswick, so I'll say that's a catch for new Brunswick. Hope this helps a bit
@@o_oluwasanmi thanks iam from India i think you are living in new brunswick can you guide me is it gods decision if my son come after 12th for diploma course and is it easy to get pr in new brunswick and other job opportunities available i send my email id ravitanish1@rediffmail.com
Bola Moncton was my hometown, they have very big outdoor waterpark called Magic Mountain it defently attracts some tourists. If you like waterparks you will defently like Magic Mountain. I live in Winnipeg our waterpark is tiny compared to Moncton Magic Mountain.
Hey olu I wanted to ask that I am coming to montcon from Pakistan Taking admission in NBCC cook program.i want to bring my 3 years son and 5 years daughter and husband with me .should I apply for their visa with me what are the chances.please answer
Hi Shehriaz, this depends on alot of factor like family size (if you are coming as a family), transportation (if you'll be buying a car or use public transportation) you may want to use the cost of living video I made to have an idea of how much it will cost you
Hi olu , I really appreciate your insights , Can you shed some info about Edmundston NB, especially the cost of living , house rentals and English medium schooling for kids . TIA
When I was still working from the office (I work from home now), I had lots of colleagues that live in Dieppe ride their bikes to work during summer, Most places here have bike paths though
Hi Queenie. There are daycare centers here, though sometimes it fills up pretty quick, that means you'll have to be on the wait list. There is daycare subsidies for low income earners. Your income will have to be assessed before you qualify for the subsidy. Hope this helps 😊
I got cold feet, bought a place in August and rented it out because of this pandemic. I keep looking for a reason to get out of Toronto at this time. After watching these videos, am beginning to warm up to it. Its a great place but I got cold feet due to pandemic slowing down jobs and small businesses.
Hi there 👋. Moncton is a great place, however I understand why you may be hesitant. The pandemic has disrupt alot of things, but honestly Moncton economy is doing better than some cities in Canada. We can always hope for the best
Affordable Housing is right. I'm shocked at what you can get for $200,000CAD. There. In Southern Ontario that money can't even get you a 1 bedroom apartment anymore. But in Moncton you get a 3 bedroom house with a large backyard. I've actually been thinking about moving there because I could sell my place in Guelph, ON and live mortgage free there. But I've never been to Moncton yet. :) So I think I might visit soon.
So true Shawn, though real estate is booming now and houses are getting a bit more expensive, but not compared to Ontario 😊 Alot of people from Ontario are moving down here to settle. You should come visit during summer, hopefully covid is done with by then. You will love it here 😊.
A lot of people are moving due to a cheaper house but many have moved without jobs and if everyone relocates to a place that already lacked job opportunities it can get worse
Hi Dhaivat, thanks for stopping by. There are lots of contact centers here in Moncton that offers part time role. You may want to start researching so you have an idea of their requirements. I know some students that work in Retail and Grocery stores as well.
Thnks for sharing. I’ll be immigrating to Moncton soon and wants to know how is the urban/metro lifestyle there. I heard that most shops and cafes close pretty early like 3 ish? 😶😶
Hi Vashisth, thanks for stopping by on this channel. I laughed when I read your comment 😄. There is a vibrant urban life here, and shops don't close early, except if it a breakfast café. Things slowed down during this pandemic, same as everywhere else in the world. Some restaurants/cafés are open till 10pm, and some clubs open till 2AM. Will be uploading some vlogs on this channel so you have a feel of Moncton before you move here 😊
Hi Mohamed, thanks for stopping by. Job availability depends on the type of your profession and career line, and it is true sometimes you may not get the exact fit for your career, but there are lots of transition jobs here. People generally start with transition jobs while making strategies on how to develop their career here. There are part time roles for foreign students especially in call centers here. You can work 20 hours. Good thing is alot of jobs are going remote due to covid, that means you can even work for an organization that may necessarily not have physical presence in moncton. Hope this helps 😊
@@o_oluwasanmi What kinds of Fish do you get in Moncton? Red Snapper or Barracuda? What about Oysters? I'm beginning to believe Moncton is a Seafood Haven. I think I'm getting hungry 🏃🏿♂️🏃🏿♂️🏃🏿♂️🏃🏿♂️🏃🏿♂️
Hi Daniel, full winter is between November to March. January and February being the coldest months. My next video should be about winter here in New Brunswick
Hi Deborah, thanks for stopping by. I am not sure of this career so I won't say I have an idea of job availability. But good thing is Covid has made more jobs remote now, so there is an opportunity to look out of moncton for jobs you are skilled at. Hope this helps 😊
Thanks for stopping by Aarzoo. I hear Crandall University is a great school. I didn't study there but I know a few people who did. Do you have any specific question about the school? I can always ask any of the people I know and provide you with an answer. Thanks 😊
@@adelabuifeoluwadun1834 thanks for stopping by. You can relocate to Canada through different ways. Some of which are Federal skilled workers program ( also called Express Entry), or provincial nomination. There are lots of videos about these on RU-vid. Let me know of you have any questions
