@@TheStyleOG 11/14/20, I must have had ~20 wristwatches over time; I used to break them all. Since I got my 1st cellphone ~ 25 years ago I stopped wearing a watch altogether; my smartphone, naturally, has clock/calendar/thermometer, etc, built-in. Same thing in the car, on the desktop. Watches are obsolete; I once gave my then 13 y/o granddaughter an old watch of mine that still worked; she had a cheap beginner's cellphone @ the time (w/clock), I never saw that watch again.

I was about to say the same thing! I was rolling my eyes at the ad because I assumed it would be a fashion brand. Was glad to see citizen there. An actual respectable watch company.
So nice to see someone show Citizen some love. I only have two watches--a Chopard and a Citizen that looks very much like it. (The Citizen was the one I could afford first. Lol)
I agree with most of what you said OG, although if you’re looking into wearing a watch I would think the lug to lug measurement is more important than the case measurement. Also if you’re getting dressed up I think you can get away with a smaller watch too, that way it can slide under a cuff easily. Love the videos and keep up the good work.
I like the Invicta Submariner Automatic as an everyday watch. Many of the Invicta watches are hideous and huge, but their Submariner is a classic size and style.
I'm not a watch snob, I'm a watch iconoclast. And the watch iconoclasts's number one rule: James Bond wears a diver with his tuxedo. I don't have a Rolex, an Omega or a tux, but I do wear a stylish steel dive watch with a suit. Or a sports coat. Or a sweat shirt. It will work with anything I wear. And props for Citizen. I wear two of them. You can buy a Citizen or a Seiko for the price of a "name" branded fashion watch, and have a REAL watch from a company which MAKES watches.
Style OG, thank you for shedding light on the importance of having a time piece. It's something that has been overlooked and it's a shame because it's as essential to a person's day to day as a mobile phone and a wallet is. I don't think your views are antiquated but I do think they need to be updated. I've got a lot of respect for you Style OG and I've watched your videos for over a year but come on, over 40mm? When I see someone wearing a 42-46mm watch I think they are either a misinformed or just oblivious. I have a Timex Marlin (34mm), Junghans Maxbill (34mm) and a 1969 Citizen Alarm Date (38mm) and I feel that they aren't even under stated. They are just perfect.
I was generalizing for the modem man who prefer bigger watches. My preference is for smaller watches as well, but I’m encouraging more men to wear watches so I have to ease them into smaller dials..
I want the time to be READILY APPARENT when I look at the watch face. I don’t want to look like I’m wearing a dinner plate. I don’t want to read Beowulf on the dial. Don’t even get me started on those with a moon phase or the time in Timbuktu.
Another excellent video! I like and agree with your suggestions as they are practical and don’t make me feel like I need to spend $10,000 on a Rolex in order to be fashionable. I have a 4 watch collection; Citizen, Orient, Tissot and Hamilton. As you suggest, I am able to mix things up a bit simply by changing the strap/watch band. It’s amazing how you can change the look of a watch when finding an alternative leather strap in place of a steel bracelet. I have nothing but praise for Citizen watches as my first timepiece is a solar powered Eco drive, perpetual calendar, 6 preset time zones, day/date complications, sapphire crystal, 200 M water resistance, and it comes with a 5 year warranty. All for less than $450. My Orient watch was $160, my Tissot Seastar 1000, Powermatic 80 was on sale for $415, and my Hamilton Khaki King, also on sale, cost $335. For just over $1,000 I’ve been able to assemble a handful of watches which I can wear on most any occasion. Fortunately for me, I don’t believe I’ve strayed too far away from any of your style tips discussed in today’s excellent video, which I found to be interesting and full of great content. Your advice concerning watches strikes it exactly right with perhaps one small caveat concerning watch size. I own a beautiful early '70s Bulova Accutron that by today's standards is quite small. I also wear my grandfather's Swiss made automatic watch from the early '50s that is also very small. Vintage watches are beautifully made relics that one should, or at least can ignore, today's watch and wrist size thinking. Just a thought some might find useful.

I like citizens watches, I happen to have a eco drive watch. Which I absolutely love. Citizen mature quality watches. I have had mine for 16 years with no problem plus it was a reasonable price. I like all your advice and love the sponsor 💯legit!!

I have two Citizen Eco-drive Nighthawks, one jet black with matching bracelet, and a Havana model with a leather band and brushed metal clasp. Affordable (less than $500)--great casual looks. My EDW is a mint Casio "Arnie" AMW 320D Diver I bought 30 years ago, 20mm canvas strap and another additional one with a black leather biker watch strap. I dress up wearing a vintage solid gold 1948 Bulova tank watch (my Grandfather's watch he wore while serving in the Korean conflict) or a 1963 Bulova autowind chrono or a stainless Seiko quartz chrono with matching bracelet. I'd love to get my hands on a few nice Omegas or a simple Rolex one day (after the student loans and car payments are gone). Great video, Style OG!!

Great video - I'm going to check out Citizen as well. I also watch a practical reason: During meetings and presentations (especially, if I'm on track or dragging it out too long), I can surreptitiously view my watch and see the time without it being so obvious to others, Ravi Peiris M.D.
Citizen really is a fantastic brand. Really hits the sweet spot between price and quality. The eco drive technology can’t be beat and such a variety of styles. Honorable mention to my daily beater-a Casio Marlin. An actual 200m diver watch built like a tank for $60-70. I’ve beaten this watch silly for years and it’s still going strong. I would replace it immediately if it ever dies.
My Dad and I have been on a mission to get the young men in their 20s in our family and who are around us into the IMPORTANCE of wearing a watch. It's a style thing and it tells the world,"MY TIME MATTERS and so does yours." Proper shout out to Citizen especially the Eco-Drive line!?

I got into collecting watch’s years ago. I have a few I spent way to much money on and many I got in the 200$-500$. Those mid level watches are actually my favorites. I have a beautiful TAG that’s my most expensive but to be honest I don’t wear it often. For men who work in a white collar field a watch can actually be how you are judged by your peers. But I have received way more compliments on my mid range watch’s way more then the expensive ones. Watches are such a great accessory and be fun to collect. Just don’t get caught up in price. Buy what you like and fits the occasion.
I am right handed and wear my watch on my left wrist but when I am going in to meeting or working to a deadline and writing I will switch it over so for eg. In a meeting as I take a note I can see the the time instead of maybe looking rude when checking my watch.
Gold 1964 Lord Elgin 35mm with a 18mm band. Classics never die. I'm only 5'5" tall so I can pull off a smaller watch. Vintage watches tend to be on the smaller side
Citizen is very stylish and different color schemes. Just recently upped my game and purchased an omega 300m black dial all steel, very stylish as well.

Lately I've been rocking hybrid watches from Fossil (and Relic), Skagen, and Armani Exchange for casual everyday wearing and Montblanc, Zenith, and Cartier for formal occasions. I agree with Citizen. The promaster pro diver is a great watch for a great price. I also have the perpetual calendar chronograph - it's a 47 mm that wears like a 44
A couple rules to add for dress watches: match the face colour to the time-of-day. Use a lighter face for a daytime event, and a darker face for a night event. Also, keep the face minimal: a second hand isn't needed, unless our expecting a bomb to go off, and neither is a date display.

I have a 7 inch wrist and I'm wearing an Omega Seamaster Professional ceramic (41mm, black lacquer dial) with a suit, and a Tag Heuer Carrera Heuer 01 (43mm, non-skeleton dial) casually. The Omega has a metal bracelet, so it doesn't fit the recommendation, but it's sleek and dressy nonetheless.
Citizen makes great watches. I have the Promaster diver and love it. I'm a watch guy and so is my dad. He got me into watches at a young age. Even seasoned watch collector like my dad thinks Citizen makes great watches.
Excellent tips, my go-to for watches are Nixon. You definitely can't beat the afterpay options that they provide as well the range of styles they offer.
Great video style OG. What is your opinion on wearing a smartwatch? I have a few classic watches, but I switched over to a Samsung classic watch that's quite versatile. It doesn't have the cheap plastic look of the apple watches. And I can switch bands to suit the occasion. Salute!
