Sorry, man. But your information is major flawed. If you took the time to research instead of haphazardly putting stuff like this up you'd know better. Your first segment is about Pinto pickups. Ford NEVER made them. Ever. Any trucks you see are conversions. S-10s were never called "Blazer pickups". S-10 was not built on a unibody chassis either. The first S series was the 1982 S-10 TRUCK. It is body on frame. The Blazer came in 1983. It was called "S-10 Blazer". The S series first generation trucks were also sold 82-93, not 82-90. They sold impressively well. Million and millions are still on the road. I skipped ahead to that section after watching the segment on the LUV which also had all kinds of misinformation in it. Terrible. Pull this down and fix it.

After watching a little more I can't help but wonder if it's not a terrible TTS. When he said "litter" instead of "liter" it caught my attention. But calling a V8 a "vate" and the SSR a "s-sir" is super fishy. I'm totally lost on what to think. Also, I think all these vehicles are pretty cool.

Hey Kid! Call up to your mom from your basement hideaway and have her narrate this for you. At least she might pronounce things correctly. In addition, viewers really appreciate personal opinions on vehicles. Just regurgitating Wikipedia or other reviews is not appealing. However, there are plenty of us watching this so good job on getting views. Just know that it is better to get positive comments so you should work on that.

Who wrote this crap?? So many lies in this video it's hard to believe. This just gets better and better. The s-10 was a failure? First the dates are wrong. The first run was 82-93. It "failed to impress consumers"....😂😂. That's rich. GM sold millions and millions of s-10s and variants between 1982-93 and millions more till the last Blazers rolled out in 2005. And wow....how incredibly wrong this is. They said the S-10 pickup was derived from the Blazer pickup. Wrong. First, what the hell is a Blazer pickup? The Blazer's first year was 1983. Trucks were 1982. The Blazer was derived from the 82 s-10. The pickps were full body on frame. Not unibody. And they have no such structural issues. They show a truck talking about it's poor reliability and yet the image on screen shows 210,000 miles which in that era was a lot. My 84 has 300k on it. My truck has zero rust at 40 years old.

Ford never built any Pinto pickup truck. Pintos never exploded. 38 of the 1.5 million of them did catch fire when their fuel tank was crushed into a suspension bolt. Ford recalled every one of them to install a bumper to correct the issue. Thousands and thousands of cars built before the Pinto had the gas tanks mounted in the same position, but the Pinto had a bolt in the rear suspension that could cause a puncture if the car was rear-ended hard enough. What is odd is Chevrolet trucks back then had fuel tank issues that caused over 2,000 people be killed in fire crashes, in the U.S., in 1973-87 GM C/K pickups but few people ever mention them. So many of these YT 'journalists' have zero original information...

Sadly the mustang and the later crown vics had the same fuel tank issue.police couldn't carry some of their things in the trunks because they would poke a hole in the fuel tank.

I disagree with your pick Chevy Avalanche. I have owned mine since new and I wouldn't trade mine for anything else. I make a habit of using it whenever I need to do work. Mine gets approx. 23 mpg and most definitely pulls my 25 ft. Camper. Oh! and it has 176,000 miles on it with no issues

There is nothing truthful in this video. Ford never built a Pinto Pickup (They only had the Ford Ranger), it was an aftermarket conversion kit, along with the V8 conversion. Chevy made the S-10 Blazer from 1982 - 2001 (2001 - 2005 as the trailblazer) and was very reliable (except for the last 4 years). The Chevy LUV was a extremely reliable, so much so that Chevy made them well into 2005 (in other countries mind you) but Chevy replaced it with the S-10 series do to fact that the LUV was a stop gap intill they could design their own small truck and do to the "the chicken tax" import laws in America so they continued making them in other countries.

Yep. That's correct. Except one thing. Trailblazers we're made alongside s-10 Blazers till the S series was completely discontinued in 2005. The last trucks were 2004. If I'm not mistaken only crew cab 4x4. No regular cabs or extended 2wd after 2003. To note, Trailblazer name was used as a package upgrade on s-10 blazers for a couple years before the Trailblazer came out in 2001.

The moment I heard S10. I knew that this list is BS. Everyone that has owned a S10 knows it's BS. I Currently drive a 84 S10 with 306k miles. Has plenty of power,no leaks and will haul and pull anything I need it to. You need to start with ALL of the new trucks and work your way backward to get your list. Coming from a 40yr mechanic.

Did you watch that segment? According to this idiot, the S 10 was called the S 10 blazer pick up. Apparently the blazer was built first, and the truck was built from that design. They also said it's a unibody. The last time I looked under my truck it had a frame. The blazer came out in 1983. The truck came out in 1982

I never owned an S-10, but everyone that owned them, raved about them and drove the wheels off of them. They said they could not kill them. And we owned a full service 76 Station where we worked on everything.

@@fixxerautomotive4917 I just Built a Duke for my S10. Mail trucks still run them and they were only intended for 30yrs of service. 4.3 is a great engine. My truck has a carbureted 2.8 4spd with a butt load of miles and still runs great.

I'm going to have to disagree with you on many points here, regarding the Chevrolet Avalanche: 1. You said one of the worst trucks in history - Won Motor Trends Full Size Truck of the Year in 2002, it's debut year. 2. You said it was unpopular due to it's "Hybrid Design" - GM's "Convertacab" system was hailed by Road and Track, Motor Trend, and many other publications for it's ingenuity, (2002 - 2006) 3. You said the midgate "Compromised structural integrity and created noise and vibration" - The Avalanche was built on a reinforced variant of the GMT 800 frame, (the same frame used by the Silverado, Suburban, and Tahoe) and was actually stronger than the standard GMT 800 vehicle with body-on-frame construction. The result was, (and is) a smooth, quiet, comfortable ride. 4. You said "Maintenance was difficult" - The substructure and accessibility for maintenance was almost identical to the Chevy Silverado and Suburban, since the Avalanche was a variant of these two vehicles, with all major components, (interior and exterior) in familiar locations with identical maintenance and replacement procedures. 5. You said it was prone to "Water leaks" - Here I will give you some partial credit. Yes, the factory Tonneau covers were prone to leaking due to bad seals, HOWEVER, the Avalanche, again, like ALL Chevy trucks built on the GMT 800 platform, had drainage systems that required the occasional cleaning. Chevrolet provided documentation to all customers on this process. If drains clog, water accumulates, regardless of manufacturer. 6. You said the Avalanche had "Limited payload and towing capacity" - The Avalanche Z66 (2-wheel drive) and Z71 (4-wheel drive) options provided 1300 lbs of cargo capacity, and ability to carry 300 lbs on top of the reinforced tonneau covers. Towing capacity was 6000 lbs, (3 tonnes). If you opted for the 2500 (4X4) version, your capacity was increased to 2000 lbs cargo capacity and 12,000 lbs (6 tonnes) towing. The only thing the Avalanche was unable to tow was a 5th wheel trailer. 7. You said the Avalanche suffered from "Poor fuel efficiency" - The Avalanche, when introduced in 2002, provided 14 mpg in the city and 18mpg on the highway, which was comparable to the fuel efficiency ratings of the time. 2nd generation Avalanches (2007-2013) introduced AFM (Active Fuel Management), and it boosted the Avalanches fuel economy to 18 mpg city/22 mpg highway, again comparable for the period it was in production. 8. You said "Other pickups, like the Silverado were more reliable" - The Avalanche used the same frame, same engines, same interior design features as the Suburban and Silverado. In matters of reliability, they were practically identical to all full sized trucks on the market at that time. 9. You said "Consumer preferences shifted to more conventional pickups" - Incorrect. By 2007 the housing market had begun to decline, and by 2009, the housing bubble had burst, leading to the depression from 2007 - 2012. This saw vehicle sales decline by 40% across ALL models and makes, which led to the closing of GM's Oldsmobile and Pontiac divisions. The Avalanche was not the only vehicle. I have owned 2 Avalanches, (I still own one) and I can tell you without question, that it is the most reliable, rugged, versatile vehicle I have ever owned. My first one, a 2002, went 365,000 miles on the original motor and transmission, with basic maintenance and upkeep, before I sold it, and I still see it around my town to this day, 6 years later. My current 2004 is much the same, with only 152,000 miles on the original motor and transmission, i don't even consider it broken in yet. Well, there's 20 minutes of my life I won't get back...

According to this guy the S 10 pick up truck was actually called the blazer pick up. He also states that the blazer was first, and that it has unibody construction. He shows the years is being 1982 to 1990 when in fact the original trucks were built till 1993 and the second generation trucks are built to 2005, with those last ones actually being Blazers sold for fleet use. This guy is an idiot

That's because a 5.4L Triton in either 2V or 3V configuration has issues that are way overblown. I agree that the 7.3L PSD doesn't deserve to be on the list, but neither does the 5.4L. In fact the most reliable vehicle I've ever owned other than possibly my high school car which was a 93 Civic DX is my 03 Lightning which is pretty much just a 2V Triton with a little less compression, and a blower. The truck still runs like a top at over 210K miles and being over 21 years old. Even the 3V people I've known have had relatively small troubles from their trucks. I've seen way worse AFM/DFM issues than I have 5.4L 3V cam phaser issues. My wife's truck.is a 17 501A 4x4 with a GEN2 3.5L and they have probably worse cam phaser issues than 5.4L did. My daily is a 18 302A FX4 5L, and even the Coyotes can suffer cam phaser issues. From a reliability standpoint I don't see your newer engines being much, if any more reliable than a 5.4L 3V, especially from 08-10 when they fixed their spark plugs from breaking.

@@JROC734 The 3v 5.4L get's a bad rep because people skimped on oil changes and general maintenance and foolishly believed it would be okay. Some engines you can get away with a loose maintenance schedule, the 5.4L 3v is not one of those engines. One of the biggest issues with the 5.4L 3v is the inadequate oil pump they used, meaning you needed to be Johnny on the spot with your oil changes and non of that cheap ass Walmart brand sludge either, quality oil changes at the proper intervals is the trick to keeping a 5.4L 3v running good for a long time. Why people cheap out on car care is beyond me, typically our cars/trucks are most people's second most expensive purchase they'll make in their lives, second only to a house, why you would pay so much money for something just to totally neglect maintenance on it is beyond me.

SSR was not a huge failure, it sold a lot but the only reason people think it failed is because a lot of people hated it. The Explorer Sport Trac was also not a failure. I see them everywhere. They were basically the first mid-sized pickup truck, and at the time not many companies offered a 4 door smaller truck. I dont even need to say anything about the Avalanche. Seriously, what??? My dad owned an 80s S10 Blazer. Its a body-on-frame, not a unibody. All the issues you mentioned were just the small issues of every American car from the area, idk why you singled out the Blazer.

You missed the ford p100 pickup which was based on the ford Sierra sapphire estate or wagon in the USA, it was not really any good as a pickup and the engine was lacking power .

This video is among the top 10 worst videos on you tube do to 1. The only thing true about this video is that I was STUPID enough to watch it. 2. The inability of Drive TV to research pickups. 3. The incorrect pronunciation of common words used throughout video. 4. The wrong information on almost every vehicle on their list. 5.Repetition of the same info of a vehicle, i guess they just wanted "filler info" to make the video longer.

My Mom bought an 1984 in 1984 Chevy S-10 blazer at a New Jersey dealer. We drove that truck for over 25 years. It had its normal issues, The body started to rot but that little V-6 ran passsed 320,000 miles. We ALL owned it for a while. My only issue was having to carry a few quarts of oil for an oil leak NO ONE COULD FIND. we all kept it very clean and in perfect shape. But the rot and rust did this truck in. It really wasn’t a bad truck at all. We had to junk it when my Dad said “ Boys it’s falling apart and it’s not worth keeping up. Dad bought us 2 older boys a Ford F -150 each. Here I am a 60 years old and my pick from 1990 is still in pristine shape with only 176,000 miles and still going strong. This list really isn’t accurate.

Lot of outright misinformation in it. The video says the Blazer was unibody and that the truck was derived from the Blazer and called the "Blazer Pickup"?? Huh? The truck was first in 82. Only standard cab. Body on frame construction. Blazer came in 1983 as did extended cabs. S-10s didn't rust any worse than any other vehicle. I don't know where he got that. In Alabama my 1984 truck is rust free. Terrible video.

Ford never built a Pinto pickup. They were customized by a third party, post production, so yes, even the pickup version was included in the recall. You're just all over the place with the Chevrolet LUV. Throuout most of that part, you went on and on about how great they were, and then at the end you totally blasted it. Which is it? As someone who was around back then, let me just assure you that no one was expecting a great all around truck out of the Rampage. Everyone knew going in that it was a very limited offering, and no one was trying to tow anything or hoping to carry heavy loads with them. The Caballero's styling was polarizing? If it was such a failure, why did they keep it arount for 10 years? This is a design that was ridiculously popular almost right from the beginning, way back as the '59 El Camino. There was no competition for it. It and the El Camino were each other's only competition, and like the Rampage, no one was buying these things and hoping for more. Ford stopped manufacturing the Ranchero a few years prior, so these really had no market competition. The exact same thing with the SS-R, except precisely NO ONE was buying the SS-R to ever put anything at all in the bed. It wasn't pratical or functional as a pickup. It was never intended to be used as a pickup. Most buyers have never even opened the tailgate or tonneau cover for anything other than cleaning them. It was an appearance truck only. The Explorer Sport trac... same thing. This was a pickup that was no bigger than an Explorer SUV. It's the same damned thing. It's mid sized truck, so comparing it to an Avalanche or a Ridgeline is beyond stupid. Again, it has a small bed, and everyone who bought one knew that going in. It wasn't some hidden fact. Again, it's and Explolrer SUV missing the back part of the roof, and as far as the inside is concerned, it wasn't any less comfortable than its SUV counterpart. You could tell just by looking at it that it was going to be just about useless as a truck. This is another example of a truck that was ridiculously popular, and they probably would have sold a LOT more of them if only someone had had the idea sooner. You completely missed the mark on the Avalanche too. Yeah, sales declined. In later years. You'll have that with unconventional designs. It did have an 11 year production run though, so it couldn't have been that much of a disappointment. Again, another widely popular vehicle for the first several years. It didn't drive, handle, accelerate or brake any worse than its equivalent ½ and ¾ ton Chevrolet or GMC conventional pickups or SUVs. Dodge Dakota convertible. Since the bed and the cab were two separate items, and since it was a body on frame design, just like all Dakotas, I don't see how you could possibly say its structural integrity was compromised or that it had decreased payload capacity. The truck still had a full size bed back there, and the convertible top didn't have anything to do with being in the way or anything. Worst case, if hauling something that was taller than the top of the bed, you had to leave the top up since retracting it meant that the top protruded minimally into the the space above the front of the bed. These trucks were intentionally built to be convertibles, and necessary precautions were taken to make sure that there was bracing underneath to eliminate what little bit of body flex might come into play here. It was always meant to be an extremely limited production, hence the reason for the low sales figures. For example, only eight were manufactured for 1991, so you can't exactly say that sales figures were low, since the most that they could have possibly sold would have been eight that year. I can't remember ever hearing, out of the few that I've ever seen, that this was one of the worst trucks ever. It really wasn't any different than any other Dakota out there. 1999 Ford Power Stroke... First of all, what is an F250 High Power Stroke? I actually had one of these, and I only ever had two recurring problems with it. First, where the clutch push rod attaches to the pedal, there's a white plastic bushing/retainer that holds the two together. About every 40,000 miles or so, the bushing would wear out and the rod would fall off the side. After the second one failed, I learned to keep a few of them in the glove box. If Iremember correctly, I think they cost around $8 each and I know it took about two minutes to repair. Seriously, no tools required and it really did only take a couple minutes to repair. The second problem was where the front driveshaft bolted on to the flange on the back of the transmission tail shaft. Twice that thing came apart, and it is loud because the drive shaft continues to spin until you get the truck completely stopped because it was still connected to the rear axle which was still turning because the truck was in motion. The whole time it's turning, it's beating the hell out of the floor of the truck. The problem? I couldn't see it the first time becuase there wasn't anything left to see, but the second time it happened, one of the four bolts was still there, and I could see that the factory bolts were threaded all the way to the top. There should have been a gap starting at the head of the bolt and extending maybe ¼" - ½" before the threads started. Other than that, no engine problems, no fuel injector problems, nothing. That was one of the better Power Strokes I ever had. I had a 1994 7.3 mongrel that was plagued with problems and a 2004 6.0 I think it was? that couldn't get out of its own way if it had to. But my '99 was bulletproof, and so was anyone else's that I knew. The S-10... I don't even know where to begin. First of all, the pickup wasn't derived from the Blazer. The pickup was released in 1982, while the Blazer was released in 1983, and they were developed simultaneously. Even if it had been developed from the Blazer, so what? What difference would that make? None, it would have made absolutely no difference whatsoever. They needed to get the pickup out there a little sooner because of the tax rate imposed by the government on imports, so GM really needed to design and build their own trucks because it was starting to get too expensive to bring an import in and rework it into a Chevrolet, when they could just manufacture their own compact truck a lot cheaper than they could import them. Just so you know, most pickups and SUVs inside a manufacturer are related and constructed simililarly, such as the Bronco II/Explorer and the Ranger, or the Expedition/Bronco and the F-150, or the C10 pickup and K-5 Blazer, or the Power Wagon and the Ramcharger/Trailduster, etc. The S10 was never a unibody in construction. It was always a body on a rigid frame and it never had any widespread problems, other than much of the first generation being underpowered which resulted in poor acceleration. As far as safety was concerned, they were right on par with everything else on the road at the time and were always up to date with whatever was available at the time. They also never had widespread quality control problems either. Maybe some minor fit and finish problems that were in line with everyone else's use of plastics. Try to remember, back when these things were released, computers were still pretty rudimentary at best, and all vehicles were subject to failure at any given moment. This is yet another vehice that was never regarded as the worst, or even slightly low quality, but in fact they were, and still are, very popular trucks. You couldn't ask for a vehicle platform to have a better reputation than the S and T series GM trucks. You couldn't even buy this good of a reputation. I don't know where you got your information for this video, but damn near every single word of it was categorically false. This one has got to be among the worst of the worst RU-vid videos ever, and if it was possible, I'd give it two thumbs down.

Not sure where you’re getting your information from but the f250 with 7.3 is one the most reliable trucks out there. The s10 blazer/truck is another vehicle that’s very reliable vehicle.

Plus every single time you say the 1999 powerstroke you show a 97 and older....me thinks you are a tad off partner. I can tell you this, i work for a logging outfit as an operater, we put on MILES on our crewbuses all on horrible pothole ridden back shortening kidney bursting gravel roads, where one gravel road mile is the same as 7 in a regular highway pickup! And guess what truck is the most used and loved and sought after in the fullsize american pickup lineup? Yup that ole 1990 threw 2005 but the 1999 is considered a damn lucky find , because we know it will make it to the job every day, and home safely at night. I cant help but stick up for the 99. After the first one was purchased,i bought another for my wife! 1999

On a positive note: Thanks for reminding about the Rampage. I have completely forgotten about that vehicle. Did you not notice that there was a time where companies were trying to capitalize on the Holden Ute? That concept never really appealed to us in the States. When you state that the beds in the Caballeros and Rampages were not useable, the Chevy Luv and Ford Courier along with the Rabbit truck had beds just as small. Why not do a video on comparing that? But have your dad narrate it or someone that speaks English.

I'm not hating on you like some of the others, but the rampage and LUV weren't meant to haul like traditional trucks. They are used by farmers and ranchers around here, mostly S10s, though. My buddy uses his to haul steel plates no problem, occasional wood materials, and other things. They are, in fact, meant for light hauling and gas saving like you mentioned. I appreciate you trying to help people out and make an entertaining video. You do need to change the announcing program, in my opinion!

In my opinion the s10 blazer and the pickups were not bad at all. I actually have an s10 blazer with the 4.3 v6 and I have never had any issues. It has plenty of power and acceleration doesn’t leak any oil. This guy is making it seem like these are some heavy duty vehicles that are supposed to haul giant trailers and heavy loads. These are light duty vehicles where if you needed to you could haul or tow somthing. And yes they do rust but that is if you do not take care of them properly. Most of the trucks on this list are actually really nice vehicles if you take care of them so take this video with a grain of salt

I agree the text to speech sucks. It’s a LUV truck ( love) not a Loove. When you pronounce it wrong it makes one wonder if you know what you’re talking about. It also makes you sound like you weren’t even born when some of these vehicles were on the road. Since the Chevy LUV was discontinued in the US in 82, it never got the extended cab. It was foreign markets only. Kind of like the Nissan Sentra square body style(late 80’s to early 90s) becoming the Nissan Tsuru in Mexico long after it was discontinued in the US. Never heard of a Chevrolet “ESSER”. But it looks an awful lot like an “SSR”. Yep…..

Sticking with our 2016 GMC Canyon 3.6 V6 and it’s a good truck and it’s not bad on gas and I like the back up camera and Apple CarPlay option and the navigation 😃😃. The GMC Canyon will put the Chevy Avalanche to shame any day

The Pinto safety issue was only on the hatchback, not the wagon, and in my life I have never seen a pickup. The Chevy SSR was purely a show vehicle, nobody bought one to haul anything. 😂 The mistake they made was not putting more horsepower under the hood. 19:06 I have never heard of the Avalanche referred to as “the worse pickup”. I owned one for eight years. I never had any mechanical issues, or with mid-gate leaks, but the bed was not designed for wet loads, but some owners ignored the owners manual and misused the vehicle. I was getting the same gas mileage as a Silverado with the V8 engine, the towing was the same. Remember they were not designed to be a full function truck, but a passenger vehicle that had hauling capabilities. They weren’t really phased out because of problems, they kept adding features and costs till they were discontinued and only the Cadillac Escalade was offered till 2013.

Late 99 is supposed to be one of the better years since it has intercooler etc that all 99-03 trucks had, early 99 had some other stuff different, but late 99 is the revised version, but still has forged rods.

Hmmm, I didn't know that there was a Pinto pickup- but it looked pretty cool, The Chevy LUV was a great truck for what it was designed for in the energy crunch- a light truck for A to B with no frills that got decent mileage. I personally like the small truck cars like the Subaru BRAT, I also liked the mid sized ones like the Elcamino and Ranchero too, I don't think the SS was designed or intended to be used as a pickup truck same as the OG Ford Lightning, while I agree that the Sport Trax was plagued by the same reliability problems of the Explorer, I have seen it sell very well in Idaho and Alaska, There was a 2500 Avalanche with a 9500lb towing capacity and frankly i think it was a great truck that sold decently over the years (11 years is a pretty good run for the worst trucks in America) you got the year range wrong on the F-250 it was 2003 to 2007 wiht the 6.0 Powerstroke. the earlier 7.3 Powerstroke wasn't all that bad. The S10's 4.3 in legendary for reliability also, it's a 1/4 ton pickup and you wouldn't expect it to have the payload capacity of a 1/2 ton- I didn't or havent seen massive issues with the s10 in my 20+ years of professional auto repair- no more than any other 1/4 ton pickup. Any truck in the salt belt or Canada is going to have rust issues. If your basing the worst trucks on sales numbers- most all of the trucks in your lineup were for niche markets to fill a small need in the market so yeah the numbers were low but that doesn't make any of them the worst trucks. IMO the worst trucks in America is anything with a 6.0 Powerstroke engine and is something you completely missed
