This is rapidly becoming one of my favourite RU-vid channels. I stumbled across it purely by it being recommended to me by YT, probably because I was watching some Prague based channels. In any case, the presenter is great and the video content quality deserves a lot more followers than it has. As an expat in Prague, I appreciate the material and the effort that's clearly gone into each video.

Who the hell would go to post the post office expecting it to be a turistic atraction? That's like going to Auschwitz and expecting it to be a wellness resort.

Just discovered real Prague guides, and what a jewel. Having been to Praha several times, I learn something new in every video I watch. And I appreciate the good humor and funny remarks. We have been to several restaurants some very good ond also the opposite. We especially enjoyed the food and drink at U Sedmi Svabu. Take a look down the steps to the basement. It has 4,5 stars on TA. And avoid the small sight seeing buses starting at Kostel sv. Mikulase. Keep up the good work.

Several decades ago, an Army buddy of mine came to visit New York City. For some reason, he loves riding on buses. I hate buses. He said he will be arriving at the NYC Port Authority Bus Terminal. I could not meet him so I gave him some advice. I told him the absolute first thing he needed to do once he gots to the Port Authority Bus Terminal is ... GET OUT. Leave the bus terminal and move at an expeditious pace away from the area. Did he listen to me? Of course not. He was immediately harassed by a homeles pandhandler and later by someone wanting to sell him marijuana. It did not help that he looked exactly like a young country boy from Nebraska coming to a big cty for the first time - mainly because that was pretty much the case. It should be noted that it is much, much better now, renovated with their own Port Authority police station in the facility. And after the 1st bombing of the World Trade Center, heavily patrolled.

I went to the Main Post office in 2012 to mail some postcards and it wasn't a bad experience. True, there were only a few windows open so I had to wait awhile, but that gave me time to enjoy the beautiful architecture! When my number finally came up, the clerk didn't speak English but she was friendly (or at least not unfriendly) and I got my cards mailed.

Great video, very funny and informative. My favorite Prague restaurant is Velreeba (sp???) I was there in 1993 and they had only corn soup. But, I returned two years ago to find that their menu had improved amazingly and the food was astonishing. Highly recommend.

I enjoyed a lot the alchemist museum. Mysterious an full of history about that alchemist who lived there (i forgot his name). It makes we understand a little bit about the Czech mood. It may be more interesting for children, teenagers, or for the ones who like mystical stuffs.

6:40 for the Alchemist museum several reviews fail on two accounts: 1. They went to the bar next door instead 2. They didn't listen to the engaging guide. I was there Monday and it kicked butt.

Great video and great presentation!!! 👍👍👍 Just a tip, if you want to see kind of a "museum of medieval torture and instruments" pay a visit to "Daliborka" at the Prague castle, some "great stuff" 😢 they have there, and I also think it was for free a couple of years ago (or if I visited on one of those free days?).... Now I think the castle is closed for public because of covid, but its going to reopen again sooner or later.....

last time is was in Prague, I have been in the park next to the train station because I had to wait before I was going to the airport. and I can tell I did not felt very safe there. even it was middle of the day. and I have been on place that are way more dangerous to be alone in the night. at least I did not had homeless people talking to me. the only people that talk to me where other tourist that where thinking I was Czech, but that I have in more counties, that people think I'm from there. I always try to fit in with the locals, also a good way to not get robbed, or get people to sell you things

@@RealPragueGuides On my trip in 2019 that I did from Sofia (Bulgaria) to Romania to Hungary to Slovakia to Prague (Czechia), I have been on many strains places when you exit the train station, some locations are not very safe to be at night. With that places then the train station in Prague is pretty good. The train experience in Hungary is also fun because you have to change train station, if you come from Romania and want to go to Slovakia/Czechia. You have to cross half the city to come to the other station 😂, at least I had take a hostel in Budapesta so I can see the city.

Visited Prague some 10-15 years ago. Remember visiting the National Museum (I think it was?). Loved it. What a quirky experience. It was like entering a time capsule and going back 40 years. All the exhibits in Czech. Completely empty, we were the only visitors. Low tech at its best. A lot of stuffed animal, I remember. We took the subway to the museu, the exit was at a park. Remember seeing some guy there shooting drugs with a needle up his dick. Great prelude to the museum visit and what was to become one of the best city visits I´ve ever made was of to a fine start. Keep up the good work, love your videos!

Ahoj, Valeri! I visited Prague six times 2009 - 2010. I really enjoyed the Kafka museum, but the Museum of Sex was quite intimidating (hahaha). The black light theatre on Parizskaya (?) was great. I loved it. Also, the Narodniy Divadlo did both black light and multimedia shows - I thought it was really good. That museum of torture was cool - I wanted to take some of these instruments back home to use with the boss!! Also there was a wax museum, maybe near Na Prikope Street? - it had the funniest (maybe intentionally as Czechs can be quite sarcastic) wax mannequin of Putin in a really cheap brown jacket (it also had a Michael Jackson mannequin, and on the day I visited that museum he also died.) For me, the worst part of Prague is trying to walk through Starometsky Namesty (did I spell that right?) because of the MASSIVE crowd of tourists staring at the clock tower (which is nice, but not worth staring at for hours on end). One excursion was to a bunker - it was basically a dirty tunnel, with a wooden desk selling some military badges. The strangest experience was walking the centre after dark - so may places change from touristy, to sexual. The many cabarets really changed Prague's character. Strahov Stadium was massive, but its architecture looks extremely communist! Strange, but interesting fact: I gave some old sport shoes to a group of homelsss guys. Was that safe? Who cares, I felt no danger :) My favourite experience was the Prazska Muzeni Noc (again, sorry for my piss-poor spelling) 😂 I love your videos. They remind me of my wonderful motorcyle tours from UK to Czech Republic (Plzen, Prague, Brno, Opava & Ostrava) 12 years ago.
@RealPragueGuides
@RealPragueGuides 3 года назад
Wow! You did a lot in Prague and its also impressive you remember some of the names like Strahov Stadium. Giving shoes to homeless should not be dangerous, homeless people usually mind their own business. Sometimes though there are areas like Hlavní nádraží, which is where the drug dealers hang out a lot, wouldn't try to be friendly with anyone there 😉 You spelled everything perfect! Thanks for watching and thanks for your comment!

@@RealPragueGuides I always remember the good things in life. I have some beautiful memories of places, people and events. Actually, I met a friend of mine - a Russian girl called Anya, from SPB - outside the railway station at Hlavni Nadrazi. Maybe it was different, and not so dodgy, back in 2010? I hope Prague becomes normal once again after this corona problem. There are not many parts of Europe which I haven't explored. I enjoy your videos, it brings back some nice memories)

Gotta disagree with the Black Light Theatre being on this list, I went to the one at the Metro Theatre and it was brilliant, yeah the story is always very simple and not like an Oscar award winning £200 million budget movie, but its in a theatre, and the main focus is not the story, its the art of the black light! I saw it as very simple yet clever, very fun and entertaining, I highly recommend it :)
@RealPragueGuides

We also like Black Light Theatre, I guess it really depends on people's taste and which theatre in Prague they choose. (there used to be many, not sure what the state will be after everything reopens). We've only visited the Black Light Theatre by Jiří Srnec, and really liked it.

Magical Cavern - I disagree with such a harmful opinion. I've been there three times (the first time still in the old location, near the Charles Bridge) and each time I had a great time. You just have to like this kind of art - dreamlike-fantastic, surreal and all in all funny at the end. I advise you to watch the work of Reon (the owner of this place) on the web in advance and then decide to visit. If someone has a problem with nudity in art ...
