EA is one of the most despised gaming companies. Here are some examples of big mistakes they've made the past few years that attracted the ire of many gamers. Subscribe for more: ru-vid.com?su...
actually, a couple of months back they had a notice under all their expansions, game packs and stuff packs that you needed that stupid journey to batu pos pack in order to play any of the others. of course they got called out by a lot of people for it so they removed that little tid bit. As it is I can't bring myself to buy because there is just no justifying it. The game is full of bugs that keep getting worse but they still want more money
The Sims 4 is not a cash grab. You can easily play with just the basegame. The packs are optional additions to the game. You don't have to purchase them. Also add ons like these were in Sims 1, 2 and 3.
@@lannamcf Do u play the game? If yes, do you also play sims 2 and/or 3 with its expansion packs? If yes you can definitely tell sims 4 *IS* a cash grab.
@@dionmardianto I've played all 4 with just basegame and expansion packs and Sims 4 is deffinetly NOT a cashgrab. There's no lootboxes or microtransactions. Have you even heard of the Sims 3 Store?
@@TheGamingG810 Because they have aggressively told us who they are on every occasion to do so over the last 18 years, and they have reiterated whenever possible. Not only do their actions condemn them, but the company itself has long since abandoned any pretense of being about anything else. The only times they are not about predatory business practices and profits over people now are when the governments of the world literally force them to.
@@shadowsupremeja7352 they play it bcuz they r shit at playing sport irl and when they buy them they buy them from sport fan perspective not a normal gamer perspective ik someone who bought ps to play shitty fifa. They r just some stupid ass ppl and they could sometimes defend EA idk how. And becuz they can't play the sport neither any other game than shitty fifa
@@kyrollos1368 yo if I were to pick a choice between real sports or video game version. I would pick sports cuz the game is boring. I’m not athletic or sports fan but playing the real one is way better
It was probably so big and so blown that it any worth doing, I'm guessing everyone knows how that went down. Probably also wanted to point out the smaller less generally known stuff too. They have done a looooot of crappy things....
@Filthy Light There is NO demand for Pay-to-win. The problem is the people that willingly buy into it. For instance the FIFA players. Not only do they willingly buy the games every year when some are literally just re-skins of the previous game, but there are enough people that will invest in the pay-to-win to allow EA to keep doing it, even though most FIFA players hate it. And even though over 90% of the players hate it, those 90% won't stop buying the game every year. So why would EA stop? The mad fans still give them money, and a smaller percentage of fans give them even more money...its win-win for them. EA won't stop until people STOP buying their games. And people won't, FIFA is the most popular game in the world.
Wdym? They are constantly doubling their profits on their titles every year. This is quite far away from the worst mistake a company can do. It is morally and ethically wrong but it does work from a business perspective. I doubt they care if people call them evil or say bad things about them as long as they keep raking in more money every year.
Humanity's worst mistake was prioritizing money (which is NOT REAL) over their own LIVES [RU-vid has a bot or paid TROLLS that DELETE factual comments]
It's working out for them just fine, as long as people are willing to buy in. The sports franchises alone serve them well. If it was something that ended up biting them in the ass to the point where they lost money and were finally believed by all to be toxic, it would be their worst mistake. Until then, it's the sound of their bank accounts bursting.
@@justayoutubeuser8652 There's a lot of really good games out there not made by EA. If we just stopped buying from them they might get desperate and make something worth playing.
Don't forget about how in The Sims 4, you have to buy features like weather, acne on teens, laundry, apartments, pets, etc. Most games now have stuff like weather, animals, etc. as base game features way before The Sims 4 even started development. Even Forza, a racing game, has weather.
You should do another list of scummy things EA did. Like attempting, initially, to challenge Belgiums microtransaction ban. EA did give up, but the fact they even ttied standing up to a countries government is a whole new level of avarice.
I am so happy to see this information collected in one location. There is no question that every gamer has been burned by EA at some point. The worst part is that the company seems to be aware of the sentiment but doesn't care to make any changes. For example, their newest NCAA Football game will be the same game it was in 2014.
I think we forgot the worst one... EA play. EA: “I’m gunna let you pay me, just so I can let you pay me AGAIN at discount. I’m so humble to extend my generosity... here at EA... we care about your money...errr *our players!”
I'm so sad about Anthem.. When first trailers came out I fell in love with the thought of a huge open world that has layers, not just the ground. And it was beautiful as heck! But then it came out...
Nobody: Literally nobody: EA: *makes a loot crate that has 0.01% chance of getting the good stuff in a fully-paid game EA: “Why do you hate us so much?”
Only a few weeks after its release, I bought the special edition of Hellgate: London with a Lifetime subscription on DISK (which I still have) which is still working in single player mode, but doesn't even update to the latest patch anymore. The edition had the following bonus/additional content: • Lifetime subscription • A special unique pet (useless cosmetic) - Online only • 2x more bank storage.
This was released just 2 weeks before Kits were released for the Sims 4 basically a few items that were cut from other packs and if you are in the UK like I am they pretty much cost the same as an actual stuff pack.
Hellgate: London (2007) is still one of my favorites. The atmosphere, the class design, the story. It could have been a great series. The Hellgate: London (2018) on Steam is not the same game, it's an update of Hellgate: Global which was the original game turned into a Korean F2P MMO... So, why is that bad? Because the Korean F2P demographic tends to have cheaper hardware with less power to push graphics. As a result, the '18 game has worse graphics that are blurry, the '07 game can use DX10, the '18 version only uses DX 9.
I remember since I was a kid (90's kid) I always loved when I saw that EA games logo when I would start a game, but it seems you either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain.
Gameranx has a stellar reputation, channel that do honest review, covers gaming community and has helped me discover games for a decade, i hope yall stay this way forever, to never become corporate/company-ish if yall know what i mean, stay with the truth.
I actually enjoyed Pinnacle Station in ME. I got top time on most maps, but their were a couple that just seemed impossible. Would have been nice if you got some sort of rewards for beating the maps, though.
I'll bet in the near future people will look back at all this DLC and loot box shit and say "they put gambling in kids games?" And we'll be like "Well yeah if you put it that way it sounds really bad."
It's funny seeing the more expensive loot boxes in apex and as someone that still plays that game, realizing that the events still work in that same way
Just to warn you all, The Mass Effect Legendary Collection’s Collectors edition also looks like it won’t come with the actual game. Hope I saved at least one person.
@@aidanhelfrich4887 Heck no. I have a plan. We all make videos of the bad stuff and money stuff that ea has done and make it a trending topic on RU-vid cause eventually topics do trend. What do you guys think.
This is just of the reasons why studios bought out by EA get ran to the ground and die. EA sees a studio that's doing decent then comes in buys out the studio and the proceeds to milk it for all it's worth into the ground eventually killing the studio.
the same happened with the PvZ shooters, Battle for Neighborville was 30 quid for a game with like 140 fewer variants (eg. fire chomper, vampire flower) and like 3 fewer modes, it got canceled just a few weeks before its first anniversary too
Ubi has been pretty good since the disaster that was AC:Unity. They've had some missteps lately with Ghost Recon Breakpoint but have turned AC around and the Division has been awesome. I can usually get on board with their games and not feel burned after buying one
One of the most annoying cash grabs that game companies do is when they offer a season pass, only to find out that the season pass one buys is for season one with other seasons coming out over time. One blaring example is the latest Soul Calibur game that has multiple season passes, each one broken up so that one can buy dlcs piecemeal. And a lot of the things offered in each one include costume pieces that were unlockable in older games with normal playthrough. If one does not buy the dlc, there is no way to use said costume pieces. And the pieces still do not form well on many characters as the body parts still phase through the pieces, or seemingly float as they do not conform to any body well. The stages of that one have some of the worst in the game, the story mode is worse than the last (and the last one was pretty bad), and the new characters are cheap generic ripoffs of popular anime characters with popular playable characters no longer in the game.
Honestly, that a company like that still can get profits goes to show how much our educational systems have failed (around the globe, and that includes financial and awareness education for parents)
I actually LIKE the ME DLC. Not pinnacle station, no, but Overload, Lair of the Shadow Broker and the Citadel DLC where all awesome. My only real complaint is From Ashes should have been part of the game, not DLC. That story stuff is plot essential, noone should have had to pay for that.
HOW... WHY aren't FIFA on this list?? EA have been doing copy pasta for the last 5years, and still charge full price for it.. Even without mentioning the FUT crap that have completely destroyed the game!
I bought the BF4 weapons shortcut when it was on sale for 10$, i bought it in 2020, and its pretty nice to have certain guns that i dont want to grind hours for, such as snipers, which i dont use often, but its nice for grinding for the actual weapons you have to earn

hello, i love this series, good job. i am sure you are aware about the micro transaction at mobile "free" games, are sure worst from all but you should check what gameloft did to a very popular racing game "asphalt 8" how they turn a very fun arcade mobile and pc game into a money grab and how they treated to their already customers, ppl who had spend thousands of dollars ,their acount after a couple patches was worthless and the so called vip system with btw you need close to 3k dollars to fully upgrade, gameloft literaly cancel it in couple updates. i think you should invest this one and if u need info i can share.
