I feel like this would be one of the most difficult videos to make.... I mean imagine having to limit yourself to only 15. The only thing I could think would be more difficult is saying 5 things they did good.
The very few things they did do good were overided by mistakes, for example, purchasing BioWare, this gave BioWare the funding to make Mass Effect 2 GOTY, but we all know how that turned out for BioWare in recent years Cough cough andromeda anthem cough
Popularized the "a bit more tactical FPS" genre. They made realistic sports games first (NBA, Fifa, NFL). They are a memes treasure. They push the technology ahead. They have offered us massively amazing games, in the past. There...
@@4400seriesFAN They make the same FPS and sports games every year. They are a memes treasure because they say and do stupid things. I don't know how they push technology ahead. And emphasis on the past.
EA did a couple of good things, and those are the very very old games they used to do,let's face it all the Need for Speed games up to Carbon were awsome, and so are most of the games they made up to that point, but from 2008 or 2009 on they started to become what we all hate today, but yeah i agree with you,all these games i say are good, they are but ONE thing EA did good, can anyone burn about 50 of their brain cells for half a day or more to find another thing EA did good? cuz honestly i doubt i could find anythingelse, also we can all agree that their first BIG mistake was trying to make multiplayer MTX based need for speeds, remember how it all started? NFS World anyone? the game in which the only thing the game gave you was the starting car and nothingelse to put on it? and then the next multiplayer NFS fail which was MW 2012? those were some of their first BIG mistakes, and from then on ppl's hate grew mroe and more
That's a reply of a hater. You clearly ignored the part that I said "popularized the X genre" and you replied with "they make the same games every year" as if this has anything to do with what I said. See? That's how a hater replies. Completely changing the subject because the point someone made doesn't give them room to counter. Battlefield is the game that popularized the semi-realistic/tactical FPS genre and it belongs to EA. And if you think that BF4 has anything to do with BF1 and BFV, you are massively misinformed.
Sims 4 My First Pet Stuff: the DLC for DLC. I don't care that some of the items are nice, it doesn't make it okay to sell virtual objects that only work if you spent $50 on the other DLC first.
I'm sorry, but at this point I have no sympathy for people who still keeps buying the Sims franchise and then getting surprised they are being treated as milking cows. They kept releasing it with less and less content only to add that content as DLC or shop item for real money.
tbf i found most of sims 4 dlcs worth it, they added mechanics to the game, like pets, or laundry, or actually working, etc...others not so much, asthetics shouldnt be 5-15 dollars, and yes 50 dollars for the mechanics is a bit much, maybe 25 dollars at most maybe 30 for the at work dlc
I never understood how fifa players just litterally pay to play as characters who were just "in the game" in previos fifa titles (pun intended) Just play PES, it's a better game anyway, not that konami is a better dev.
“They screw up a lot.” They LITERALLY screwed up...made the mistake...and most people learn from their mistakes. Not EA. They continued to make the SAME mistakes for a solid DECADE! AND CONTINUE TO MAKE THEM IN SPORTS GAMES.
EA is now known universally as "The most evil corporation in gaming history" which is sad, because they started off so well, making/being behind so many awesome games, some of my all time favorite retro games belong to them in fact, i.e. Future Cop LAPD, Road Rash, Skullmonkeys. They literally choke the life out of everything great they get their hands on. They are like Mr.Burns smelling flowers, but worse.
“It’s not as if EA doesn’t do good things.” The only good thing they did was publish Titanfall 2 and they even managed to fuck that up by releasing it too close to Battelfield 1 and CoD so the game’s fate was already sealed.
@@asheetzmdrawrz7411 Red Alert 2 was pretty much the only game I played as a kid. I don't even know how many hours I've dumped into that game! Such a classic...
What EA mistakes can't you forget? "Let me tell you about how EA was literally handed the HOLY GRAIL of all IP exclusivity contracts; Total exclusive rights to the making of any and all Star Wars games for an ENTIRE DECADE... And did not take the opportunity to capitalize by releasing SW game after SW game of every kind for ten straight years. Instead, cancelling SW game after game for the first half, releasing three SW games in the latter half, two of which are primarily shallow online versus games, one totally lootbox-centric, and then sneaking in one pretty good SW single player game right at the finish line. They were given a money printer and told they could have it for ten years, and in the end only printed fifty bucks for a half-decent dinner."
EA games does not need this channel to understand why people think of them as the bad guys. The entire video game community has been telling them for years now, from like, since they started taking over companies, ruining those companies IPs, And then demolishing the company. Rip Westwood. Maxis. Bioware. And countless more.
4:27 ... a sense of pride and accomplishment?! What the hell have you accomplished in a game when you unlock everything by paying for it instead of unlocking it through playing the game?!
@@BlueShift2000 To "protect" the world from devastation, to unite all people within our nation. To denounce the evils of truth and love, to extend our reach to the stars above! Activision! EA! Team Profit blasting off at the speed of light, pay up now or prepare to fight!
I just have to say that I could listen to Falcon go off about games or gaming news literally all day. Hilarious, pure entertainment in every sense of the word.
7:00 I started playing Need For Speed Payback recently and, at first, I thought "Hey, this isn't THAT bad, why do people hate this game so much? It looks good, nice controller support (In 2019 NFS 2015 still doesn't support wireless bluetooth Xbox One Controller on Windows, despite it being ,like, the de facto standard for PC gaming), good handling, big map... I like what I see" but then the game *slowly* introduces you to the loot boxes, and before you know it the game becomes "Need for Loot Boxes, Pay Us"
The loot boxes were not that bad. If you actually played the game it was easy to max out cars... like super easy. If you had a problem with it, it was probably just to hard lol
@@icyy_createz your right, that's the problem they haven't figured out how to add player cards, dlc's or loot boxes to try and get as much money they can off of it. I guarantee if they did bring it back we will have to pay for majority of the boxers. They ruined it by not producing it, & the reason sales went down was because of marketing and it was the same game with same fighters last few years. Honestly if they kept the game the same and just improved graphics, added to the lineup with new fighters each year, then it would of kept selling. A lot of loyal fans of the game and fans of boxing would keep buying it each year including me.
@@tech-78 You are so right dude. That is modern EA in a nutshell but yes this is what I am talking about fellow gamers be constructive in your critisim.
You can also add: trying to bully a country. When Belgium decided that lootboxes were gambling, and as such should follow gambling laws, EA refused to comply, saying they would take Belgium to court over it. They kept up this grandstanding with press releases and threats (without going to court of course) until they received a final warning from the Belgian Gaming Commission saying they would be fined millions of Euros for every infraction. EA quietly and quickly complied.
Theres too many normies who see box art they like or hear hype about an upcoming game. Even if everyone who knows how shit EA is completely boycotted them, i think they would still stay afloat thanks to the normies. Certainly they will stay relevant due to sports titles.
Guilherme Santos yea obviously.. EA doesn’t make games. They have owned Respawn since a little bit after Titanfall 1. So they owned Respawn when they released Titanfall 2. Which is why it had such a bad release date
Sense of pride and accomplishment.... It's worth 666 mistakes and it will never be forgotten. I was really thinking about installing Origin again just to play the Mass Effect trilogy but this video brought me back on track.
Good luck even trying to fire up the trilogy now as Origin, as bad as it was, has been replaced with the EA app which is worse. It can't even figure out how to launch ME1, if it can even manage to download it.
I shed a tear when the realization sets in that there may never be another true Command & Conquer game to grace this gaming generation, at least not one with 99% of the content hidden behind loot boxes
2 mistakes for me come to mind with EA. 1. EA Skate 3 being strictly online only. I still play Skate 2 to this day as a party game because the Hall of Meat mode is a tone of fun with friends and having the reactions occur in the same room is part of said fun! 2. I've always purchased the yearly NHL installments as I am a diehard hockey fan. However; in NHL 19 and NHL 20 when EA took out the authentic arenas (i.e. Party Hard by Andrew W.K. Playing at Penguins Home games) I feel it took away from the enjoyment. Also, the PA announcer sounds the same whether your team scores a goal on the road or at home. This may not sound like a big deal to some, but I am a person who is legally blind so the audio is a HUGE part of the experience for me.
I forgot about the whole code situation in like 2011. I remember buying a used copy of Battlefield 3 only to not be able to play the multiplayer because since it was used someone already used the damn code lmao
@@killer008r battlefield, c&c, dragon age, amnesia, bards tale, sims, black & white, daoc a hundreds more either published or developed as well as published.
@@Cherubim666999 Westwood - Command and Conquer was ruined by EA. The moment EA started publishing with Yuri's Revenge up until they dismantled C&C. C&C was garbage. Battlefield started before EA published it, codename eagle, BF1942, afterwards the games were always riddled with game breaking bugs and problems. Any and every bioware game after EA took over Bioware has been notably garbage. Maxis was also one of the best companies ever with sims and sim City PRE EA. But got bought out and destroyed by EA. Now the only 'good' title is sims 4 which severely lacks features even the first sims had. Lionhead studios (black and white) was a company made splitting from Bullfrog studios (EA bought them and some of them were let go some wanted more freedom) and was then was driven into the ground by... You guessed it. EA. DAoC was originally made by Mythic Entertainment a company owned by Venvidi universal - i.e. Activision Blizzard now-in-days. The second one, a massive flop was produced by EA. EA at one point was an okay company. But since around the time they took over WestWood. They quickly became to gaming what the Nazis were to the Jews. They take over studios, usually sneakily forceful, they push them to the point where they have no choice but to sell out to EA. Then EA pushes the companies with impossible deadlines and rules. Forcing the games to come out rushed and bad. Finally when the games don't perform they shut down parts of the company, fire employees they said they wouldn't fire and replace them with EA goons. Sure they slapped their names on IPs they published and eventually game companies they bought out. But does that make them a good company that's "Developed and published hundreds of the best games ever"? No. EA is a rotten company, this why they won the golden poo award multiple years in a row for the worst company ever.
The real mistake here are the people who still buy EA games that are incomplete, filled with MTX, sucks your wallet dry and those mentioned people will whine when a game have all of that!
they are pretty much only surviving with FIFA fans, of which a huge chunk of people aren't much of video gaming enthusiasts, and doesn't realize how EA is fucking them over by giving barely minimal for a 60 dollar game every year
Practically releasing the same game each year with some slight differences and mainly just a different menu system and charging top dollar. eg. FIFA etc
ALL sports tittles technically are just a slight clean up before they are re releaced no mater the sport really even the f1 games and those are not EA thank the powers that be.
william nilsson makes sense since EA is a mistake itself and they don't care about the fan base regardless of how much they show how much they "care" about their fans
When bf3 first released for ps3 it had an aweful input lag that wasnt there in the beta. EA blamed this on people not having the tv set in "game mode". But after a year of having an unpleyable game, they suddenly fixed it, but the damage was already done.
The sad thing are the developers of this games imagine spending 5 years polishing a game than ea be like tomorrow the game should be ready when you need another year for finishing it
@@artate92 I really wanna see their opinions on the company, but they'd have to be free from it before saying it or they'd just be fired, or they could be under some nondisclosure contract or something like that...
@@orestesbastos oh yeah I forgot about those contracts. The contracts are a big reason companies of all kinds go so long doing messed up things , until someone takes one for the team and exposes them then something ends up happening to them

@@artate92 Yeah... That'd probably suck out all the passion they have for developing :( And EA made stuff like this many times already, BioWare is an example.
I guess need for speed pro street needs a honorable mention in the list. The game they advertised looked really cool, had good graphics, car damage, way better engine sound than previous NFS games, and detailed ambients with crowd, baloons and graffiti art all over the place. That was a loyal advirtisement, but only if you bought the PC, XBOX, or PS3 version. The PS2 version was totally trash, all the graphics and sounds were recycled from previous NFS games, there were no car damage, no crowds or detailed ambients, and had less cars. That was a huge deception because there was no previous warning that the PS2 version were totally different from the advertised.
@@josecorchete3732 at the beginning of Mass effect Andromeda, I tried to make a sniper character. there was this bug where if you were too far away from the enemy and shooting at them, the enemies wouldn't respond, or they would respond by ducking and standing up. On every difficulty. I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt by saying it was a bug, and not just crappy AI programming. I reported it and in the form post that I reported it in, the EA technical support guy said "just don't use a sniper then"
I will never forget what EA did with Anthem. I was so stoked for the game release and even pre-ordered. But the first several weeks, the servers were down sporadically and who can forget the concern for "bricking" your rig. The lack of a compelling narrative and extremely repetitive game play just ruined it. I will also not forget what happened to my favorite game franchise of all time Dead Space. The first and second games were, as Falcon says, "chef's kiss". Then the 3rd was essentially poopy. I know EA is trying to revive the game, which im excited to see it back, but I'm also worried how bad EA is going to screw it up.
Your experience remind me of Dragon Age 2. It was the first game I pre-ordered and was super excited for, just for it to be total crap. The story was boring and characters forgetagble. They hyped it like crazy and turned out to be a total dissapointment. I've never pre-ordered a game since.
Ah yes Anthem the “Destiny Killer” The second you saw EA in the box, you should’ve realized that the best it could be is the worst that Bungie could do
The SW Battlefront 2 loot box reveal from the Beta created such a fiasco that even Disney had to get involved. As a result, loot boxes weren't being sold when the game 1st launched
Unfortunately, the neuralyzer is always targeted at them that's why they keep repeating their mistakes over and over. What's worse is that they question why they get so much hate.
15: Forget their mistake of dungeon keeper mobile being a free to play mess by making full price tagged games a free to play mess. Because hey, if it's a mess because the standard is too good, lower the standards and it won't be a mess!
I will never forget a member of the EA team coming on the Operation Sports board and justifying their NFL monopoly by saying "without competition we will be able to create a better product" I wish I could still find the quote
One thing about Anthem that sucked but not everyone noticed is that if you active the red/green colorblind mode it made it so the most vibrant red you could get in the suit customization was hot pink
EA: ok the fans hate Sim City and not our always online "feature" so no more Sim City since there no fish in that water, how's the Def Jam fight for New York re-amped (remaster) coming along? *EA big covered in cobwebs and wolf howls* Great that's what I like to hear.
Honestly I'm surprised gamers haven't protested EA and either a) take them to court, b) go to their offices and protest them, c) start a petition worldwide to ban lootboxes
