Daniel Bryan not winning the 2014 rumble match was unintentionally the best booking imo. If Bryan won the rumble there would be no question that he was gonna make it to the main event. With the way the booked it even on the night nobody was completely sure on if Bryan was going to make it or win

The 40 man royal rumble was literally so the new nexus and some of the core could be in the match

Kane should have won the 2001 Rumble, Vince costing Austin the Rumble win, then Austin should have made Vince life a living hell until he gets a match against Kane for the Mania title shot at No Way Out, with Austin winning that match.

I'd go back and make one minor tweak to the 2005 Rumble, where after the botched finish both Batista _and_ John Cena are declared co-winners, like in 1994. Main reason being, *it would've changed literally nothing about the booking going into WrestleMania,* since both men challenged for (and ultimately won) their brands' respective world titles there anyways.

Punk winning in 2011 made so much sense that WWE immediately said no lmao.

Punk should've won when he was still with the Straight Edge Society. That was the Rumble when he would hop on the mic after every elimination.

I always think the rumble is a built in way to build new stars, they don't always have to be the winner, but have a few younger/newer guys show what they can do. Instead there the ones that last 5 mins and spend most the time hanging over the corners and edges.

I think Sheamus was good as the winner in 2012 but I think Chris Jericho definetly should have won the 2017 Rumble. Jericho vs. Owens for the Universal Title would have been so good. Maybe even for both titles since Jericho was the US Champion at the time. And Lesnar vs. Goldberg didnt needed the Universal Title. They are Part-Timers dammit.

I still feel bad for Batista in 2014. It made sense in all the ways but the Yes movement made Batista the biggest victim of circumstance you can imagine. The right guy at the right place at the wrong time.

Definitely disagree with Jericho. Y2J vs Punk was a story that writes itself, best in the world vs best in the world at what I do. They didn't need the Rumble win to push Jericho into Punk. Meanwhile there was no clear contender for Bryan's belt, so they used the Rumble to push Sheamus into that spot pretty simply.

I think Sheamus winning in 2012 was actually kinda good. Everyone was expecting Jericho but they threw a curveball with Sheamus and Jericho faced Punk anyways.

In 2016 the company could have done this: Have Triple H still win the Royal Rumble, but have Dean Ambrose beat Hunter at Roadblock, therefore becoming IC and World Heavyweight champion heading into wrestlemania. Then, have a triple threat WWE World Heavyweight Championship match at WrestleMania between: Triple H,Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns. Then, have Dean win THAT match making him a legitiment champion! Anyone else agree?

1988 - Randy Savage (The soon to be WWF champ wasn't even booked on the show!) 1989 - Ted Dibiase: Ted succeeds in BUYING the Rumble win rather than his plan being foiled by the completely pointless victory of the returning Big John Studd (who ended up being nothing more than a guest ref at WM5!!!). This would have re-habbed the Million Dollar Man gimmick having never become WWF champ in 1988.

At one minute in, I'm guessing 2014, 2015, and 2016 will all be at or near the top. And I LOVE your idea for Jericho.

your idea of 29 men eliminated (in this scenario runner up and 2nd runner up eliminating each other) before nr 30 even comes out, is a BRILLIANT idea in my book. they didn´t do it with Jericho ... but there is still this NANOTINY chance for them getting that idea and doing it with the Miz - he could totally sell it and be his awesome mizness

I know it might sound wild in 2021, but I'm still convinced that the 2015 Rumble should've been won by Dolph Ziggler. His sole-surviving performance at Survivor Series two months earlier should've been the start of something bigger but it just... Wasn't.

I think they need to do a rumble group win kind of like how they have had a few "teams" do well but I mean take the new nexus for example. Have them shock everyone by making it to the end and have maybe 1 try to turn coat but have the winner actually be handed it by their minions. I think it'd be hated at the time but loved later.

To name a few Ultimate Warrior 1990 (gives him more momentum for his match with Hogan) Rodey Piper 1992 (I’m fine with Flair winning but that was the best year for Piper to win it) Bret Hart 1997 (I love the finish but this ties into my next entry) Steve Austin 1999 (3 years of Austin winning in a row is overkill but this is better than Vince winning) Kurt Angle 2004 (hindsight this should have happened, plus I felt the way WWE handled Shawn entering the Triple Threat was a bit weak) CM Punk 2011 (it was his best year to win the Rumble, him winning and going to Smackdown to challenge Edge would have been great, plus then the draft can happen and he can move back to Raw for his feud with John Cena and that whole storyline can still happen) Chris Jericho 2012 (should have happened) Undertaker 2013 (a Streak vs Title match with CM Punk would have been massive) Daniel Bryan 2015 (hindsight him not being in the 2014 Rumble was a good thing because it was such a bad idea fans rebelled even harder for Bryan to be pushed, plus Bryan vs Leasner at WrestleMaina 31 would have been perfect) Dean Ambrouse 2016 (imagine Roman as the top heel on Raw at this time as the Triple Chief with the Usos and Heyman and Ambrouse try’s to stop him. The only match I want to see Moxley have if he goes back to WWE as JON MOXLEY is against the Triple Chief run of Roman) Bazler 2020 (it just makes to much sense it’s stupid they didn’t do it. Nope Trips winning the title was the right decision. I still think though, he should have been number 31, an added entrant, to defeat Roman when he thinks he has overcome the odds and won. That was what the storyline was building to.

2004 Lesnar should have held the title till mania. Goldberg wins the rumble, beats Lesnar (the crowd would back Goldberg since he’s not leaving) and stays one more year on smackdown. Does a heel turn and puts Undertaker over in a retirement match at mania 05 (which would have been a lot better than the match we got).

I've always wondered if Kane should've won in 2001 tbh as he was an absolute beast in that and it's something he's never done, sure Austin winning made sense as it set up Rock vs Austin 2, but since Austin already won 2 rumbles before, did he really need another win? Besides Kane went from dominating that rumble and being the final person eliminated to winning the Hardcore Title at Mania 17? Which honestly always felt off to me. I think 2001 realistically had a ton of potential winners such as Rock, Undertaker, Kane as I mentioned and even Rikishi alongside Austin which made it one of the best and most exciting Rumbles honestly. But yeah I think Kane winning would've been awesome and made sense, although I'm not mad that Austin won either as it's a great moment and lead to a fantastic main event in the end.

Holy shit, I got it Paccitti's fantasy booking of Jericho winning in 2012. I've heard that before and it always SOUNDS like a good idea in theory because it's never been done before. But in actuality, I think it will stink.....and that's why the men's Royal Rumble might end like that on Sunday. That's the terrible idea that's getting tossed around!

I know that Drew McIntyre winning last year was incredible and made a new star, by why not give it to Kofi Kingston? After what happened on the 1st SD on Fox, which was absolutely atrocious, him winning the Rumble would give him the opportunity to avenge that along with finally letting him not only do his yearly incredible spot but actually do something else meaningful.

I remember when Edge and Orton were announced as number 1 & 2. My mind was immediately saying "I bet they'll be the final two, with Edge getting the win." Then they made it a big deal of Orton having won twice, asking can he go for number 3 and tie Austin? They were trying to swerve us away from the obvious.

The first Royal Rumble in 1988 should have been a 30 man instead of 20 man with Andre the Giant and Hulk Hogan. Andre the Giant going on to win the very first Royal Rumble.

Still can't believe Kane and Jericho won zero Rumbles, and meanwhile Austin won three of the damn things. Further still, Austin ended up basically winning McMahon's Mania shot anyway (so he's technically won 4 Rumbles), but if you want him to win so many, why not just have him win that one in '98, and let Kane win the '01 Rumble?

if i were the one booking the 2014 RR, i would book it as such: last three, bryan, roman, and batista. bryan eliminates roman, hits a running knee on batista. but then, as he attempts to throw batista over the top rope, he trips and fall over the top rope, eliminating himself.

With two World Titles, the Rumble Champ doesn't need to be an A-Lister, you can use it to put over a mid-carder, like: Sami Zayne (maybe ties with Jericho) - 2017 Zayne and Owens had lit it up all year. Owens and Jericho were teasing a split. How about a three-way dance at the Showcase of the Immortals!?

Ambrose not winning in 2016 was a big missed opportunity to turn Roman heel when they needed to. Dean outsmarts Roman to win the rumble and title. Roman, upset at the fans rejecting him and his “brother” winning the rumble, turns heel and we get a Dean/Roman match at WM.

With Hindsight, I do like that Bryan wasn’t in the 2014 Rumble, solely because it made his run to the Main Event of Wrestlemania all the more enjoyable because it was really a matter of will they/won’t they.

1991 - Should have been Mr. Perfect. He did everything right. Due to Hogan antics the rug was pulled from under his feet. 1993 - I would be down of Randy Savage won. 1997 - Should have been Bret Hart and Bret vs Austin at Wrestlemania 13 in the submission match would have made an already great match, that more sweeter. 1999 - Steve Austin. I agree. 2001 - Kane. No pun intended, he was red hot. Looking at that Rumble, it felt like it was built for him to win only to make it to the end and not. Its still a great one, but Kane was excellent. 2012 - Chris Jericho. I agree. 2014 - Daniel Bryan. This was THE year. 2015 - This is a tough one. If Bryan won 2 years in a row, there's no telling how the crowd would have taken it. I think I'll just agree with the Rusev choice as well. 2016 - Dean Ambrose would have been perfect. 2020 - Shayna Baszler. I agree.

Daniel Bryan had to be number 1. I mean that one was a large part in putting so much bad heat on Roman Reigns that he literally had to have a relapse of leukemia to get it down to a reasonable level. And when an instance of booking semi-spoils a return run that was initially very well received and requires the guy you are trying to make the top guy get a life threatening disease to not be booed so hard they might be vibrated out of reality I think it goes to #1.

Jericho missed winning any of the 3 upper mid card trophy titles. He never won the rumble, never won the king of the ring, and he never won the money in the bank briefcase (that he was partially responsible for coming up with the idea in the first place). Out of the 3 options I think I would’ve liked to have seen him as the king of the ring. He would have gotten so much heat out of it. There would’ve been so many story lines. Such a heartbreaking realization now with the benefit of hindsight ☹️
