Wow,what patience you have... a few cuss words do help though..lol love the fabric you chose! Gorgeous piece! The Daisy interlude was a hoot, she was just full of herself...a cutie pie with her corks..I watch quite a few Furniture Restorers and Refinishers and I have to say I thoroughly enjoy your channel more than any of them.Much love to You,the Mrs. And Daisy!!
Great job! I love the fabric. I hope the owner loves what you've done. Your work is impeccable as usual. Do you know where I could buy this fabric? I love the Art Nouveau design! ❤❤❤
Excellent work, I have just finished my mother's / grandmother's nursing chair. We used to get smacked for sitting on it as kids because it was so wobbly like an amusement park ride. Brought back good memories. I'm now 70 and was fun to do.
@@MayfieldRestorations thanks so much David for the Link to the Fabric..I'm going to order some to reupholster a couple of chairs I have...the fabric is beautiful!!
My ex father in law got into doing cane furniture after having a heart attack and had to retire early in his career as a civil engineer. It started out a therapy for him. But later help supplement his social security. Anyway this lady brought him a rocking chair. She had no pictures of the chair for him to even see what he was dealing with. It was literally a stack of pieces in the middle of the livingroom floor. Did not even have some of the pieces for it. Turns out it was the kind of wicker chair where it had only a wooden frame. The seating area of the rocker was all wicker. He also hand carved the missing part. So that was his puzzle project. He hand caned the whole chair.
I’m an extremely stubborn person who does not have a boatload of patience. However I would have seen this as a massive challenge and taken it on. Honesty requires I say that at 70% of project done, I would have quit and handed it over to another to finish. A blow to my pride yes, but I let my sanity win! A remarkable man, your dad!! From NH, Patricia. 👵🏻 🤗
My ex father in law gave me a practice frame to start learn the basic caning pattern and showed me how to do that basic pattern. Have to say l never got my first try finished. But doesn't mean l won't try again. I was raising 5 children at that time in my life, so it just got put on the back burner. I to enjoy shower needle work.
The work that went into this is mind boggling. What looked like a hopeless pile of wood turned into a masterpiece of beauty and elegance. I love it very much. Incredible job ❤ Daisy is just sooo sweet and adorable 😊
Daisy is dang adorable, she has a personality that is hilarious the way she wants those treats. It makes me laugh. The resoration you do is awesome. Like your videos. God Bless you and your family, including Daisy. ❤️🩹🩷🩷
If I may give you a tip. When placing your material onto the wadding, use Odif 505 temporary adhesive onto the wadding. You can peal back and replace it and it’ll help keep the fabric in place while you permanently fix it. I’m a quilter and it really helps. X
I've never seen that particular kind of furniture before, must be a European style. You did a beautiful job, like a difficult puzzle. It's stunning. ❤️ to 🐕
I am SHOCKED... SHOCKED that you actually got that thing together again,. In the beginning watching it fall apart I was sure it would never go together again, I am impressed. Plus I love to watch you work on your restorations. Keep them coming!!!
Now this is a real sewing box for a really busy mama; plenty of room for socks with holes, buttonless shirts and clothing with torn hems and seams! Beautiful job!
🤨 - holes in socks occur in areas of wear ~ foot and shoe rubbing, and would re form if patched up = unfortunately when our socks get holes in them - we throw them away and buy a new set, no point in sewing up the holes/sewing patches on them
I just found your channel and am amazed at your skills! You took a dilapidated pied of furniture and turned it into a prized family heirloom that has a new life! I absolutely LOVE the fabric you chose and Daisy is such a treat! Great work! You’ve got yourself a new subscriber!
I'm really impressed with how talented people like yourself and Jay from Flippingdrawers take pieces of furniture that would seem to be past their lives and reinvigorate them. I love how you give your projects back their original character, but reborn. You are saving the world from destroying its past. This piece was really beautiful and I'm sure the owner was thrilled.
Wow, what a superb job. The finished piece looked stunning - I bet your client was well pleased. Very enjoyable to watch you work through the issues with no drama or fuss and learn how you overcome them. Thanks for posting the video.
"Gimme the cork! Gimme the cork!!" I get such a huge kick out of Daisy. Now, old son - we need to talk about your Amazon wish list. I'm thinking it needs a belt on it. Using a strip of upholstery webbing, then shoving the excess down your trousers just won't do for our David. You sure performed a miracle on this piece. Just wonderful!
Honestly, David, given the poor structural integrity of the piece, I was not anticipating such a remarkable restoration. And I really like your choice of fabric. Much better than the dull yellow originally used.
Love some Daisy, and how she talks back to you all sassy with her corks. Too cute. Incredible work refinishing and repairing this piece. I think it looks like a mini coffin too. 😂beautiful though
That turned out absolutely beautiful! I love the wood tone and the material. You did such a wonderful job! I have an unusual sewing stand that I want to do and that gives me a little bit of an idea. Hello Daisy! Glad to see you got to corks, instead of just one!😂❤
WOWZA! Isn’t it amazing how when you get a piece that has signs all over it saying "it’s not worth your time, just trash me" you proceed anyway (don’t you just love a challenge) and it turns out to be something that you can be extremely proud of. And, by the way has turned out to be worth a lot of money. Congratulations! From New Hampshire, Patricia 👵🏻 😊
Errr no I didn’t! I purposely didn’t add fabric because I fully refinished the bottom so it’s far more hardwearing than material. The original material on the bottom was torn and ripped. 👍
Just gorgeous!! I was going to ask how you know where everything goes when you disassemble, so I’m glad you showed how you do it. I see you matched up the design so that when you open the lid, the flowers are lined up. Excellent work, as always!
This sweet little cabinet is saying 'Thank You' for making me pretty again. Lovely job with stain color and stunning fabric 😊😊 Cheers from the Finger Lakes of New York State 🍷 🍷
@MayfieldRestorations Hi David! 'oh dear' is one of my favorites when Daisy sneezes... I love seeing her play with her corks & how she supervises your work! Thanks for sharing all your beautiful restorations & sweet Daisy🐾🐶🖤🤍 So happy I found your channel! Your Florida pal, Michelle 🌞🦋💛💙
It came out so lovely! I do understand the swearing part though. To put together such a delicate and flimsy piece is definitely a challenge! But you’ve managed, as usual. Great work!
😍😍😍I love this, I am a sewer and I would be so proud to have this, I keep my threads etc in a glass lidded dark wood box that my dad gave me. He said it is a display box that was used in my towns, sadly no more, Co-op Drapery department. I cherish it partly its history but mostly because it is from my dad❤
The enjoyment I get from watching your videos is immense. Thank you so very much for creating your content. I always pick up a tip, or two, each time I watch.
Daisy was a hoot today, she had a lot to say! I think that piece is stronger now than when it was new. It was a good job as usual! Thanks for sharing💜💜💜
I love how you laughed at times at how things were going. Thank you for letting me know I’m not the only one that might have two or three goes at some things.
My doggy, a Welsh terrier named Miss Muffit and I were watching your show. She was laying down. Then when she saw your Daisy, Muffy sat up and watched all the footage with her in it. As soon as Daisy was gone, Muffit laid back down and went back to sleep. Daisy has a real fan here in Indiana. You have a fan here too. I love your restoration and I’m learning so much. Your explanations are so easy to understand and you’re so knowledgeable. Thanks for your great videos.
Hahaha that’s great to hear, Daisy actually sits up and watches herself on screen and even barks at herself sometimes 😂😂 I’m so pleased you’re enjoying my videos 😀❤️🐶🐶
I see what you are doing. You aren't fooling anyone. You are shamelessly using that darn dog to make sure that I come back for every video just to see him. Well, I only have one thing to say to you!. Well played good sir. Well played. Take your damned like and your watch time. You win. 🙂
This is stunning! The fabric is beautiful, and spot on! This was like a very frustrating puzzle, but congratulations-you won. I loved seeing sassy Daisy and her passion for corks. 😄
That piece turned out amazing! I love love love that fabric! It goes so well with the rest of the piece. Always a joy to watch your videos! Love seeing Daisy also!
What an Amazing transformation David, it is stunning beautiful. You always impress with your workmanship, it's second to none. Daisy interludes are always a treat to see. Thank you xxx
I absolutely love it. Being someone so sews I would welcome this in my home. The choice of fabric is beautiful. Well done I hope your customer loves it as well.
You have turned an ohm miss used and poorly kept piece furniture, which was once ready for the scrap. The turning point is that you have turned her into a blushing debutante at the spring ball, showing offers, dial courage and utility all at the same time. Thank you very much. I enjoy your videos.
I just love that sewing table. Beautiful job. Would love to have something like that. Great heirloom. 👏👏👏👏. The polished hinges look like jewelry. The fabric is stunning.
