Technically, he never betrayed Caesar. He lost the First Battle of Hoover Dam to the NCR's Rangers. Caesar did not like failure, and made an example of him, and replaced him with the truly coldest motherfucker in Vegas; Lanius. Lanius lives up to the Legate title of his predecessor by having every word that comes out of his mouth being as quotable as possible.

@@maximososa8798 turned the NCR, the largest country on Earth, that stretches from washing ton down to baja mexico and east to the hoover dam, into a single village of 30 people, that all die in one of the episodes. thus fallout 1, 2, and New Vegas cannot happen. They made the vault Lucy lived in be the one The Master was in from Fallout 1, so Fallout 1 and 2 are impossible. They made the Brotherhood of steel have an air force of combat blimps, instead of just 1, and a rebuilt Liberty Prime. So the Brotherhood never should have lost to the NCR and would control the hoover dam and the poseidon energy plant. So again, Fallout New Vegas can't have happened.

Also, I'm not sure where Nux got the idea that Joshua is out to murder children or anything ridiculous like that. Even in his darkest ending, he only kills the White Legs, which is completely justified because they're homicidal lunatics who are incapable of anything other than destroying everyone and everything they come across. Other than that, all he wants is to teach the Sorrows and Dead Horses to be fully self-reliant, so they won't need people like him and Daniel to look after them. I literally see no argument for that being a bad thing, and the only one who does in-universe is Daniel, and that's just because he's idiotically infantilized the Sorrows in his mind, treating them like children who need their innocence preserved rather than grown human beings that need to be able survive.

Hell, the darkest ending confirms he got what he wanted. Every member, including the children they most likely have, die after they retreat. I mean it still is the right option to remove the White Legs from power, they are evil, and would’ve died eventually, but it has to be kept in mind he was willing to kill EVERYONE White Leg,kids included, religious lessons be damned.

You are one of the few internet folk who actually understands what faith is. It's refreshing to hear a level headed take on it.
@SemiOmni314
@SemiOmni314 11 дней назад
Hard disagree on that. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the **evidence** of things not seen. It still stands on evidence, it's simply on how much you trust it. Say with statistics, there have been 39 plane accidents in 2022. Despite such a staggeringly low amount, and not having witnessed each accident themselves, people will avoid flying at all costs. That is a form of faith. For religion, or Judaism/Christianity specifically, it's what God will do for them based on the evidence of what God has done for them and what he's promised (i.e. for Judaism, God delivering them from Egypt, saving their asses with judges, and their eventual Messiah son of Joseph and Messiah son of David. For Christianity, all of this and the second coming)

There's a couple different translations for Joshua's line, "Kale watcha nei conserva oh". One possible translation is: "God as my witness, none of you will be spared." However, another RU-vidr, who simply goes by "Synonymous", looked into translations from German, Spanish, and Navajo words (due to the fact that the fictional tribes depicted in Honest Hearts speak a mixture of those languages). And the translation he eventually came up with, was: "What are you to Caesar? You may push against us and pick us off, but we will survive." In this case, "Kale" would be the White Legs' word for "Caesar" (Due to the fact that the members of the Legion _always_ pronounce Caesar's name with a hard "C"). A commenter on Synonymous' video believed that Joshua was actually speaking "Twisted Hair", the tribe Ulysses once belonged to (before he also joined Caesar). Apparently, Ulysses convinced the White Legs that Caesar is a God in human form, so Joshua's line here would literally translate as, "God watches, not conserving you." Or, in other words: _"Your God has abandoned you."_ As for an official translation, Joshua Sawyer (The creative director of New Vegas) made a point of not giving an official translation, because he wanted the line to be mysterious. He also clarified that it *DOES* translate into _something;_ it's not just gibberish. I do like all three of these fan translations, but the last two are my favorites. As another commenter on Synonymous' video put it: "Asking Salt-Upon-Wounds what he is to Caesar would be the most raw line, if that's what it translated to." Edit: Fixed a typo in "Caesar".

Something more that is waiting for us." really stuck with me.

My lord I love Joshua, one of the most perfectly written characters in all of fallout and is both very endearing and very terrifying at the same time with his story being amazing. I highly recommend doing some other deep dives into the seara Madre casino dlc and the Big empty one as well, without giving too much away about both the first focus on the past while the second is about science and gives some very interesting lore. I don't know about lonesome roads since I heard some people hate it but that might be interesting too check out to.

So many good characters to look into. Christine, Father Elijah, Ulysses and the mad scientist or the Big Mt. All those are from DLC. Even Dean can be added here. Just such a well written game. But the best of all characters is the one that haunted that valley right after the bombs dropped. He's probably the best character in this game and he died long ago.

You should really watch a video on Caesar himself. Not because he's right, quite the opposite. Caesar is a charismatic moron who has internalized a misunderstanding of a phylosophy in order to justify being a monster. As someone who has very lightly dabbled in philosophy, listening to him butcher the concept of Hegelian Dialectics makes my head hurt. It makes me wonder if the misunderstanding was purposeful or if the writers also misunderstood it and were legitimately trying to make him sound smart. Given the quality of the surrounding dialogue, I lean towards the former option.

Bear this in mind, Joshua Gram is the Former Legate of the Legion, the position now currently occupied by Lanius. Dude lost the first battle of Hoover dame, got TARED, Lite on Fire, THROWN DOWN THE GRAND CANYON, and SURVIVED! Dude is too HOLY to die. Also yes that M1911 is 400 years old, its in the name: Colt M1911. And Fallout takes place in 2277 ish, so those things must have been in storage for a long time to still be working properly at this point.

'In the warp a giant stirred; an image flickered through a mind larger than a nebula. The sleep of Gork was troubled. In his dreams he wore a metal body and led his children to victory. The dream lasted a brief instant of long eternity, something about it caused Gork to smile but not to rouse. In the warp Mork too was disturbed. He dreamed of war spreading like a green stain across the galaxy. He saw billions of his children following giant warmachines built in his crude image on a great crusade. He found the dream good. And slowly his vast mind moved towards wakefulness. Gork and Mork stirred. Their dreams reached out and touched the dreams of their people. A billion Orks turned in their sleep; suddenly, inexplicably infected by scenes of slaughter and reaving, plunder and the taking of worlds. When they awoke they looked on their surroundings and found them dull. Gork struggled towards awareness. After centuries of dormancy it was a long process. He sensed other Powers in the warp trying to interfere. He blocked a subtle tendril from Slaanesh, ignored a baleful warning from the Emperor, discounted the triumphant cry of Khorne. He reached out with his millennia-old mind and gathered the strength of his people. Soon he would be awake and active. A body of steel had been prepared for him. A time of blood and iron was approaching. As Mork gathered strength many a Warboss found himself afflicted with thoughts of power. Ancient ambitions were re-kindled. Long vanished thoughts of conquest stirred in the recesses of slow minds. They planned raids on nearby Humans and toyed with thoughts of alliances with old rivals. Not even great soul-searching could explain why this was so. The Ancient Powers knew what was happening, though. The Waa-Ork was coming. Gork and Mork stirred and a wave of fear passed through the warp. Suicide and incidence of violent crime climbed steeply. On Icolbar an Astropath screamed and threw himself from the balcony of a starscraper apartment, yelling that his people were doomed. On the craft-world Hope of Other Days, an Eldar philosopher stopped listening to the atonal music of his water-chimes and began composing his death-haiku, feeling his life had been justified. On distant Earth, a living corpse in a golden throne opened eyes that held fear for the first time in centuries. Gork felt his attention being tugged towards one tiny world on the edge of Orkdom. A strange attraction drew him to it. He leaned down from warpspace and looked upon it. His breath brought storms in the Ash Desert. His gaze caused machines to break down. His lightest tread brought earthquakes. Seeing the disruption he was causing among his people he withdrew. He knew the time was not yet right for his return. He withdrew but he left a message. Mork moved on the face of the warp, brushing aside Daemons and ignoring ancient barriers set by long dead Gods. He moved from world to world and placed in the heart of every Ork the desire to be restless, to move, to follow the siren call of adventure when it came. He sensed other Powers subtly striving to oppose him and laughed as their attempts to restrain his crude, irresistible purpose. The Emperor knew that he must save his people. If Gork and Mork unleashed their hordes then any unprepared worlds would be swept aside by a green tide of death The Emperor bent his thoughts to the task. Across Human space, within the range of the Astronomicon, Imperial Tarot began to foretell disaster. Commanders consulting them found all the signs of impending catastrophe on a cosmic scale. In the Segmentum Obscura, Battlefleets were recalled and prepared for war. On the homeworlds of the Adeptus Astartes, Space Marines reached for their weapons, knowing their time of destiny was near. On the edges of the Eye Of Terror, the Orders of the Adeptus Titanicus roused their ancient war-machines. Having surveyed his Empire and seen it was ready the dying immortal within the Golden Throne prepared himself for the conflict to come. Gork and Mork knew that they were ready. Their people were agitated and prepared for battle The Emperor, their chosen enemy, had deployed his forces. The first skirmishes had been fought, now war was about to be joined. Beyond them they sensed the Chaos Powers watching, waiting to see what advantage the God-brothers' actions might bring them. In the darkest pits of creation twisted creatures prepared to follow the Orks' advance. Gork and Mork did not care. They knew they were strong enough to resist Chaos. The time was right. The time was now. It was time for Gork and Mork to have some fun. In the Warp Gork and Mork waited, well pleased. Across the face of a million worlds their children were on the move, a green tide that would topple empires and re-shape the Universe. The Waa-Ork was on the move.' I will post this on all of your videos until you watch Baldemort's: The Secret History of the Orks.

Id like to see Nux react to Joshua's successor Lanius, the current Legate of Caesar's legion. To call Lanius a savage man would be underselling it; he really has earned his name "The Butcher" in Latin. He is also the "Monster of the East" having earned the name from his conquering of 19 tribes. Its not all I'd like him to see as there is much more information to be derived from the game but there was a pretty cool FNV fan film made of him that ACTUALLY got Mitch Lewis himself on board to dub over actor Johnny Domino. Mitch being the iconic voice of Lanius, and Johnny Domino playing him. physically.
