I realized you need a Mk 2 belt to be able to deliver 120 ore/m at the very beginning. So if anyone is confused as to why their smelters are only working at half capacity that may be why!

With a pure ore source?
@gobalexpress05
@gobalexpress05 Год назад
@@craftcastings723 Yes, A pure Iron source puts out 120 ore/m so you need a MK2 belt which runs at 120.

I'm surprised I've only just come across your channel! This really is an excellent guide for beginners and I'd love to use some of your techniques in my guides. How do you highlight the belts? It really is a fantastic touch! Keep it up - I'm hoping to put up a website for the community sharing written guides on various aspects of the game including a section for layouts, perhaps you'd be interested in putting one or two of your own guides on there and you'll be able to link those guides to your channel and hopefully help you grow! Keep up the nice work!

Incredibly well presented. It really helped understand how to stay more efficient. I'm about 20 hours in. And running into huge efficiency problems. I think I'll restart keeping these ideas in mind. I.E. actually counting input and output. Before this I just fed machines and ended up with some machines receiving way more than they need while others being starved.

I have a tweak I suggest to all new players. On the iron rod side, you can split the combined 30 rods/min output into six lines of 5/min. With those you merge 2 lines into one line three times (aka 2 splitters -> 3 mergers). Two of these 10/min lines shall go into screws, the last 10/min line of rods into storage. I originally followed this to a tee, but I found the rod storage backing up really quick while screws were sorely lacking in bulk. It requires more tier 2 logistics, but you WILL thank me later!!!!!

i am not one for math or learning things very well. But this is excellent. I can watch it many times without being confused. (expect for my lack of grasping) Its short and concise. You use very simple terminology, and dont sound like an engineer trying to tell me; a layman; how you built a sky scraper. Thanks so much. P.S. - I don't know what load-balancing really means.

Great simple tutorial for the basics, really interesting! Do you always set up your initial factories this way? Sometimes I split my iron differently, so I end up with 40 plates/min, 30 rods/min, and 120 screws/min, but I might have to give this a try, see if the extra plates at the start helps!

i know this is an old video but it would be great if you talked a little about the belts. A tier 1 belt isn't fast enough to handle a pure iron node and can only transfer 60 resources a minute so even if you put a splitter its still only 30 going to either side, then 15 to each refiner
@anthonyboone6843
@anthonyboone6843 2 года назад
Do I need MK2 belts for this? My splitter does not split the ore as fast as what I see here. Thanks for the insights, great video.

Not sure I follow. I have 7 all next to one another in a row and then the far left two I have another in front of those. I have a step-by-step video guide for a copper factory as well. That might be better. It’s not on a singular flat platform thought and takes more time to build.
