Teff, Williams lovegrass or annual bunch grass, is an annual grass, a species of lovegrass native to Ethiopia and Eritrea. It is cultivated for its edible seeds, also known as teff.
Teff has much to offer nutritionally without being a superhero. It has a particularly high calcium content plus plenty of iron and protein; it is gluten-free and colours vary from white through to very dark brown.
Teff is now grown commercially in Europe and the USA. It is available through specialist food stores (H&B) or, more likely, over the internet.
