100 Hours In Hardcore Minecraft: Episode 2 - UPGRADES

For the record in case nobody else figured it out: the drowned spawn way more often in lush cave biomes. The ravines and deep lakes mean that the water around Grian's base are considered lush caves. Edit: For people confused, it's not that Lush Caves have boosted chances for Drowned. It is that they massively reduced areas for everything else. Glowberry vines mean that Lush Caves are almost always unable to spawn monsters cause of light levels. These lighted vines can't spawn underwater though, so only the deeper aquatic areas can spawn monsters, which are always gonna be the Drowned. TLDR: All the caves are auto-spawn-proofed in Lush Caves, so only deep water can spawn hostiles.

It's been 8 days...I'm starting to think Grian may have died in a stupid way

The drowned spawning is probably caused by underwater caves in the pool, drowned have extremely increased spawn rates in any water in caves.

i think the reason for the drowned overspawning is because your area is over a lush cave and lush caves are mostly mob proofed so the mobs spawn on the overworld instead of everywhere they would underground. and because drowned spawn even when its night you are getting constantly swarmed

0:15 Drowned have broken AI when standing in 1-block deep water. It has affected servers too, for Monumenta we had to replace some of our water-themed drowned enemies with regular zombies

Give Scar some credit, he is the man who spent a whole season of last life on 1 life. He only lost it in a 1v1 with Grian, being the 2nd longest to survive.

If anyone is curious when the next season of hermitcraft might likely start, my guess is Grian’s new series was designed to take exactly the amount of time to release before episode 1 of the next season of hermitcraft. Considering it takes him roughy a week to create a episode for this 100 hours, and each episode has been 10 hours of in game time, we might likely see the start of the hermitcraft season 9 start in about two months, assuming it will take grian 10 weeks to record 100 hours of in game footage at 10 hours per week / episode.

For anyone who gets stranded in the nether like Grian did: all you need is a flint and steel, gravel is common in the nether making flint an easy thing to obtain and you can get iron by bartering with piglins

Remember, Elytra on means less protection, so be careful, and try not to experience kinetic energy. Edit: Oh my goodness. Thank you guys for all the likes! Wow!

Btw, fun fact: with a loyalty trident, you can hit things through cages! that happens because the trident hits the stuff around it as it comes back to you. it also works with buttons, which can be a cool secret base.

Should've gotten yourself some gold boots. They effect your armor rating the least and keep piglins from attacking you

Actually when you’re stuck in the Nether, you can take advantage of the wool to lead the fire nearby to the portal and light it up I’ve gotten in the same situation before and I used haybales for that

I honestly love seeing Grian and Joel discussing their plans to fight the ender dragon! it felt like they were just genuinely enjoying the game and excited for the next step. Don't know why this little detail got me but it just made me feel nostalgic of when my friends and I would play survival.

The main reason I wasn’t interested in this series was because I thought he’d be alone and just surviving but this is more interesting

some tips/facts: -Eyes of ender have a 1/5 chance of breaking -End cities generate in N/S lines, so if you go north or south from a city you will find another. -You can re-light a portal with a ghast fireball when your portal breaks, or you can get flint and steel and fire charges in the nether, wither in ruined portal chests, trade with piglins, or mine nether gravel for flint then get the iron in a chest. -your luck is UNMATCHED

If grian want to survive 100 hours I highly suggest that he uses potions like healing, fire resistance, regeneration and flow falling.

I'm loving the series Grian! I've been watching your channel since 2019 and haven't stopped since. One series that I loved was your build school series. You're a lot better now and I think it would be a great idea.

Missed opportunity: Grian should've sung to Scar about how he was going to "show him the world" rowing off Scar's base.

He could still get out if it was a singleplayer: 1. Get gold from the little ores. 2. Piglins can give fire charge. (trade) 3. Place it in the portal and your good!

Steps for netherite farming: *wear armor and sheild *dig straight hole *put bed *walk back 5 blocks away from bed *put "BLACKSTONE" infront *sneak for sheild protection *click the bed Then boom, less damage nor fire wont even hurt you :3

The only bad thing about this series is waiting for the next episode to come out
