I don’t know your wresting skill/experience level but your teaching is great. You do a great job of explaining these moves and not just what to do but why you’re doing it, that makes it easier to remember. I’m not a wrestler but im gonna go try this on my girl. Don’t worry, she likes when i take her down.
Subscribed the second you said run the pipe was an intermediate finish. I have always found this to be more of a setup/off balance technique but no one admits to this.
It's one of the easiest ways to finish against a good wrestler, but it only works correctly if you keep your hands locked and maintain shoulder pressure on the thigh. Dropping one hand down to the heel should only be used when bringing the leg up for trips, etc.
I was trying to figure out how to get out of running the pipe. So you have to give up the whizzer and let them bring your foot up. I guess that is better than holding onto a whizzer to long because you can't really funk roll out of pipe with a deep whizzer. If they get the pipe that deep you just have to bail on the Whizzer and hope you and kick out or get a funk roll before they trip you down.
Running the pipe will not get everyone to fall down; the good guys will be off balance, but won't necessarily fall down. In my opinion, it's better to use the run the pipe as a setup to get to the next part of the sequence. I have a few videos explaining how to finish from the high single.
You're right. This is a clip from the Dynamic Wrestling Curriculum. In earlier videos, we showed you how to finish from the position that this video achieves (the lockdown position). You can view the entire curriculum at www.WrestleDynamic.com
This is part of a series, there are other videos discussing finishing from the lock down position. In fact, the entire series begins with a discussion about finishing, and then works backwards from there.
