Narcissists always tell themselves how great they are. When someone else wants to feel better about themselves, it generally hurts you. Putting the blame on other people helps them explain what they do.
It's more important to most people to own up to their mistakes than to try to please other people. Narcissists act in a passive-aggressive way a lot of the time. Passive violent people can say they did nothing wrong. They're very good at what they do. It's crazy how good they are at explaining away what they do, but since this is all they do, maybe it shouldn't be a surprise.

It was like trying to climb a very tall peak when you were with the narcissist. At first, it looked like it would be possible, but as time went on, they became much more insistent. Every day, they didn't like you as much, which made you feel overlooked and worn out. No matter how hard you worked or how much money you spent, it was clear that you could never meet their high standards. Narcissists knew how to twist the truth, make you feel bad about yourself, and blame your problems on them.
