Yup. I'm seeing this a lot in architecture lately. New builds are sterile inside and out, and older houses are being "remodelled" to completely sterilize their interiors. Like, just leave the houses alone if they're not being properly restored.
If I had to choose any house I wanted it would be this one. The finishings, the color scheme, the furniture, the placement of each room, the amount of space, I mean the list goes on. This house is stunning. One day this will be my dream home i raise my children in.
My first reaction when I saw the thumbnail was gasping at its STUNNING BEAUTY and then thinking.... please please please let the inside be pretty! Still haven’t watched it yet.... Edit: not what I was expecting at all, but I was most certainly NOT disappointed. Guys I just found my new dream home! Going to rewatch and take screenshots so I always have it!
Absolutely gorgeous, although personally I think there could have been just a little bit more colour, so that it stays very classy but just feels warmer and more like a home
Same thought I had. Looking at the exterior, "OK, so a little smaller than my house, probably." Interior tour: Welp, this house is like 5x bigger than mine. lol
@@SnapszDuhh Balsam Avenue is not in downtown Toronto but, in fact, a 25-minute streetcar trip to Yonge Street. Balsam is a N/S running street at the eastern edge of Toronto's eastern beaches neighbourhood known to the denizens as "the Beach."
@@SnapszDuhh Checked Zillow, but it's not listed. Checked the link in this video, but didn't see a price. Per similar homes on Zillow, though, yeah, $3-5M most likely. The front looks so homey and welcoming. Too bad it's actually a super-expensive mansion only attainable by the very rich. :/
damatar Zoocasa is the Canadian version of Zillow. As of Sept 2020 there are two listed for sale fully renovated on Balsam south of Queen (close to lake) for $5 million CAD (about $3.8 M USD). North of Queen, where this property is, there were a couple shown as sold but couldn’t find this one (not all sales are reported, and it may not have sold); a beautiful house at 93 Balsam (a nicer but not as slick a Reno) sold for $2.8 M ($2 M USD). I’d guess the $3 Million was pretty close.
Gorgeous traditional style home! Or should I say a mansion!? It’s such a dream house.. even the overall neighborhood looks like it’s on the high-end side.
Balsam Avenue runs down to Hubbard Blvd., which is the last E/W street before a grassy stretch which ends at the boardwalk. After that, is the sand and Lake Ontario.
Perfect house.. on a gorgeous street.. but just give me a bigger yard for an inground lap pool and jacuzzi.. and I would never leave!!!! :))) Oh and thank you birdhouse.. I loved the length and detail of this video!!!!
The lot alone in "The Beaches" is valued at about $2 million. Not a bad size for "almost downtown Toronto". Never intended for a pool because the beach is a five minute walk away.
HELL YEAH!, Love the kitchen, red knobs on the Wolf and a pot filler tap. Countertops and island need to be darker, black marble maybe...yeah, that's the ticket.
I’m not criticizing because I renovate houses and do the same thing as well, but..... everyone is tearing out the character of old houses, painting EVERYTHING white and putting in the grey plank flooring. I do it because it’s what every buyer seems to want these days. I wish a little character was still in style. The house does look clean and ready to move into.
I would refuse to paint the oak wood white and say to the owners: try it for a year and if you don't like it I'll paint it white or polka dot or whatever you want. Taste can be acquired.
It's one thing to update the kitchen and bathrooms, it's horrendous when the classic oak trim and panelling in this historic home are PAINTED white. Shocking.
love the house and location. im not sure how much it is but for me the lack of a garden would for sure knock a few hundred grand off of it. its a must tbh.
This house includes a lot of beautiful landscaping and nature and the inside is very nice. This isn’t like those show houses where it is very exposed or flashy
wow what a house !!!! Might be enough to make me move to Canada. Aside from a few cosmetic items that some may want to change for themselves..............it is perfect.
This house is absolutely beautiful. But the lot is too small for it. That’s why it has only one garage. But having said that the location surrounded by those beautiful tall trees is breathtaking and the floor plan is perfection. Very well done. Kindly provide info about the builder and the architect.
This house is fully renovated, but at least 70 to 90 years old. Only one garage because people only had one vehicle back then. The original architect and builders are long gone.
Wonderfully designed. The archietect and designer though of everything including his and her bedroom/floor. But the landscape could be a flooding issue for the basement den. All it takes is autumn leaves.
super nice, I'm in love with that house, so luxurious. by the way, I had a bad experience with the kitchen cabinet handle. It kept sticking in my pocket.
