To be fair everyone is trying to crank his knee too he's just better at it. Also, they aren't really teammates in the sense of "taking care of your training partners" these guys don't train together and are competing for a spot in one of the biggest tournaments.

Not a fan of being represented by a kid ripping his teammates knees apart to get to the top. Difference between a winner's mindset? Perhaps. Nevertheless, horrid lack of appreciation and respect to one's opponents. Even worse given the fact that they are all of the same brotherhood that is 10P. We all train, and those of us that compete, we compete. We do not carry the intention of crippling the fellow practitioners we face. Truthfully, we carry the opposite, even at the highest level. It is a subsequent attribute of respect. Respect your opponent, for he is your friend before, and he should be after. That is what I believe, anyway. In competition, of course I want to win, but I will not disrespect my opponent in such a way. I should never have to. Submissions may present themselves in a split second, yes, but they do not need to be executed at the same speed. Once you have your opponent at the edge, there is no need to swiftly force them off the cliff. You nudge them until they see the jagged rocks below, and that is when you get the tap. I wish Pat the best, but I hope that he learns, sooner than later, to respect his fellow practitioners, and allow them to leave whole.

Eddie - you need to include saddle/cross ashi with double trouble or even 50/50/90/10 as a starting position for overtime (no bite of the heel, just controlled). Would make the overtimes way more dynamic and interesting

@@SirWellingtonTheWell imo they are both boring positions. Aside from that opinion, saddle would be too easy to just stall for ride time; same goes for 50/50 especially when one guy is supposed to be on defense the whole time, it kinda defeats the purpose of the position and the overtime as a whole. On top of all this, the amount of injuries would no doubt increase with people yanking on knees in OT and starting in these compromising positions.

If someone sits down against me, what happens if I just sit down too? Why do they get to pull guard when it’s my favorite position to play? This is the main reason why points are necessary. There must be a penalty for choosing the bottom.
@maxmorrison4321
@maxmorrison4321 Год назад
I agree so much, it's such a cancer to the sport that you can do something that your opponent can't stop you from doing (sitting guard) that's lowkey like a huge advantage for most people.
@balooojeffersong4234
@balooojeffersong4234 Год назад
@@maxmorrison4321 I think they should make it so that if you pull guard or get taken down you get a time penalty in overtime. That way you can’t lose on points but you have an incentive to try to get top position.

@pymebones Год назад
@@dd805100 it seems like you're the one who doesn't understand. First, i encouraged him to go train, because he said he will start in "a year or two". Second, I don't encourage him (or discourage him, either) to go to 10p. Third, i don't think you train, but I'm sure a good coach in any academy, be it 10p or not, can address his ankle problems. Fourth, not all 10p academies/coaches emphasize rubber guard heavily. Last, I don't train on 10p, and I'm not specially a fan, so STFU.
