Unfortunately my last practice with Dominik before he goes to college but still more videos to come in the near future! Enjoy! 0:00 Intoduction 4:42 Tiebreak #1 6:30 Tiebreak #2
My tennis career is kind of over when i graduated college haha, this is more for fun and personal development. But i am definitely playing better now than i did in college. And yeah, 1 basket of serves per day definetly is paying some dividends
Andrey do you have any tips on handling balls with a lot of topspin if you hit flatter shots? I myself use an eastern forehand grip and its hard to be consistent in rallies with people who hit with a lot of topspin. Loved the video, can't wait to see future videos!
Hi Gregory, the reason why people struggle to hit balls that come to them with lots of topspin is because when the ball has a lot of spin, it becomes less predictable in its movement and it bounces differently. So two things you can think about is to try to track the ball with your eyes all the way until the contact with the racket and thinking about moving your racket in the same plane as the ball that is coming to you, ideally during the contact you should be moving your racket parallel to the ground, that way you will for sure find the ball in the contact zone. Also try relaxing your wrist a little bit and just staying more relaxed in upper body
Is there a possibility that you could upload an entire practice session or maybe livestream it? Love these videos and I think I could learn a lot from a full practice session.
Well, I can say this. If I were good enough to hit with you, which I'm not, I definitely would not hit to your backhand! Great hitting and I hope you get into the tournament!
Do you know if/how much it would cost to go and view the tournament? I live not to far from champaign in illinois and if i could get to meet you that would be amazing!
Hello, I just started watching your videos, and you have insanely good shots. Could I ask how you improved your actual groundstrokes, serves, and consistency overall?
obviously im not him but im in hs and i play junior pro internationally and i can tell you the biggest thing is your legs, consistent movement on toes and bending your knees. rather than lowering your racket lower your body, on high balls bend and extend forward to get power behind them, typically on a fast low shot you want to use their power against them and topspin deep. those are the basics
Its hard to answer this question properly because everyone is very personal. I improved my game by going to gym and doing legs only. I also improved it a lot by changing technique, im actually in the process of making a video about how i was changing my technique especially on forehand
I've been trying to incorporate continental grip in my game more since my volleys and other certain shots have been lacking since HS. I heard it is used for basically everything but groundstrokes (sometimes even in BH) serve, volley, FH and BH slice, half volley, overhead, etc. So was the little FH slice/half volley (whatever you would call it) at 7:50 done with continental grip right?
@@AndresL Sorry but that is totally against my point of what I was asking lol hence why I said (whatever you would call it) since the actually name of it is less important than the technique used to me
@@neanderthal5320 hey, sorry for late reply. That shot was done with my usual forehand grip which is something between semi-western and eastern. I usually never hit forehand slice unless on the run, here i just got caught off guard as i was expecting a different shot. But you are right that continental grip is one of the most used, even on your backhand, right arm is continental grip (if you are righty)
Great hitting as usual!! I was reading some of your comments in here and I think the only thing for you to greatly improve in order to reach the next level as far as Challengers and whatnot is just the footwork and a little bit with patience. Your swing mechanics are pretty golden but sometimes you get caught in awkward positions or rush your shot when you don't need to. I recently went to a pro tourney and the biggest thing I noticed about all of them was their footwork and preparation was always spot-on. Obviously they practice way more than you but just my observation, hopefully it's seen as constructive because obviously I can't pick on much about your game, just those intangibles mostly!
it will be a too long of a story to write about it:)) Im actually planning to make a video where i analyze my own game and strokes. Maybe that will be of interest to you
@@andreysmirnov7461 i mainly focused on ITAs when i was in college but i also should have played more futures to get used to the pace even if i got beaten
