Keep a fit, trim body, hold your head high, walk tall and you can wear whatever you wish. I'm 60 and wear what I want, when I want, how I want , and where I want. I get compliments every day because I have a good eye for outfits and I'm not afraid to break the mold and look ice. Why would people go out of their way to give me props on my look if they didn't mean it. They wouldn't. My point is at 60 I do my thing and fashion is supposed to be an expression of ourselves not anothers opinion. That my friends is true freedom. Now again I'm in good shape so what I wear fits well and they are nice pieces but frankly I look better at 60 in that gear than someone half my age thats out of shape. Its all in the attitude anyway.

Spot on brother Jeff, sometimes my adult children will buy me stuff that may be a bit youthful for a 60 year old man but I will wear them sometimes because I don't want to hurt their feelings.

Bruh I’m 63 yrs young , I still wear my lightly distressed jeans but I think it’s time to give them up lol. I do wear name brand ( not oversized logo’s) tee shirts, but I do dress up and I take my clothes to my personal tailor. Thanks for helping a brother out. This video is spot on. As I’m preparing to turn 40 in a few weeks, I’m paying more attention to my style and trying to stay away from looking either too old or too young. I’m also looking for a skin care routine that works for me. Might have to look into trying Tiege Hanley. Greatly appreciate this video Jeff!!

I’d say an older guy style mistake, although it kind of falls under several you’ve mentioned, is looking like you don’t care or have given up. As a guy it’s fairly easy to look like you’ve made an effort for any social occasion; put on a button up shirt and a jacket/ blazer with smart (dark!) jeans or some chinos. Rocking up in some baggy comfy trousers and a t shirt or hoody looks like you’ve not even bothered, and by the time you’re 40+ (unless you’re in real dire circumstances) you should have acquired some reasonable smart-casual clothes that you can lay your hands on when you open your wardrobe.

Great video. Problem with cologne is that its 'potency' can vary from 1 to 100 so the amount you use will vary dependent on the cologne you use

Still in my 30's but very valuable points indeed. I agree with the gentleman below me in wearing my shirts tucked in nowadays versus out as it looks more sophisticated and clean just my opinion. For Oxford button downs if you were to have 3 what colors would you choose? I think White, Blue, and Lavender would probably be the most essential.

Good thing you are on the job good Sir! I often have this talk with myself. I tried not to ever lean on name brands and do things the way I want to do. I never styled myself according to what others are doing or purchasing. Grooming and personal hygiene is a must when you want to be a fly out here🤣. I would say an exception for graphic T-Shirt’s is wearing something related to musical artists or bands. Big logos for designer brands becomes passé over time

Great video, Jeff. One thing I still see OG's wearing are backward baseball caps. I work with 2 guys around 45 years of age and they do it. I'm now 49 and gave that up a few years ago. They still bug me for not following them with their clothing style choices. I told them I want to be mature and not child anymore.

I've been going thru the "transition" and I agree with you on every topic. However I will always rock my baseball cap but I'll never wear it backwards. Also I think older guys can pull off shirts with a bit more little color and design than you've shown in this video.

Great video and advice as per usual, I personally would not untuck a shirt for an after work event because the wrinkles at the bottom of the shirt is untidy. My go to would be to lose the tie and role up the sleeves on a nice fitting dress shirt. I also think that keeping in shape makes anything you wear look good, almost high end with the right body shape. There are no overweight mannequins at high fashion houses for high end designers to work with. The only thing I would add to this list is the socks with sandals faux pas. Get a pedicure and moisturize your feet, show those feet some much needed TLC so you can wear fashionable sandals in the summer or at the beach or holiday resort.

Video is on point. Specially the quality over quantity. I think, maybe buy 5 top quality shirts and 3 pants on the end of the year. I dont even go out anymore. So it’s what ever. But I do wear my hoodies and sweats. Only maintain my haircuts and my cornrows. Or dreadlocks once in awhile.

Again, appreciate your insight and perspective on such subject matter, being that I now fall into that of the O.G. category. One ☝🏾 trend that is resurfacing is that of pleated pants. However, it’s encouraged that it be a standard, single pleat. Given the opportunity, I would appreciate your feedback on the following.

Yes, fit is king. I am in decent shape for my age but sometimes second guess myself with what I think looks good on me. I want to always feel "comfortable" in my clothes. Not too tight, not too loose. I have my crutch of a wife to tell me what I can get away with at my age (and how it looks on ME). I admit, when I was younger and had a lot more muscle, tight clothing was never an issue...lol. Now that I am 51, I don't want to look like I am trying too hard. I also play it safe with the colors, but have started to branch out and wear more bright colors while trying not to look like a Garanimal commercial. Especially in the summer.

62 here. Recently subscribed. While I wear suits for work, I stepped up by dress shirt quality, with a couple Tyrwhitt shirts with French cuffs. The reaction or reception of employees and people encountered was noticeable. A mother and her tiny daughter even seemed pleased when I held a door open for them, like I made their day. For this video, shirt untucked is for fat men. Also, what is the deal with males wearing crew neck white T shirts with an open collar polo? They look like pre schoolers. There is a reason for V neck foundation clothes.

However I'm requesting if you could present a video on how to be prepared for meeting HER Dad for the first time. In other words, we need to learn on what to say, what to ask, and what look for while meeting her Dad for the first time ever. I never liked the ripped jeans look and I stopped wearing the big logo shirts in my late 20's. I only wear sneakers in the summer. I wear causal shoes in the spring & fall seasons. I just turned 40 about two weeks ago and I'm probably gone have to get rid of a few more shirts as well.

Fantastic tips. I have a question regarding graphic T-shirts. I'm 42 years old and I still like wearing nice Puma shirts. It seems that even older dudes still look good in those as long as, like you said, we wear darker pants and higher quality shoes. Is Puma okay? The quality is always there with them.
