Making flower necklaces is something just about every child does, male or female. A child putting a flower necklace on the grave of a dead parent would be the most logical explanation for the flower necklace in oddfellows graveyard. Plus at one point in epilogue John says to Abigail how nice it would be to knit for someone else one day and she replies "you'll see" while knitting what appears to be a babygrow, meaning the daughter isn't born yet during the timeline of RDR2.

I think the flower necklace theory is just us giving rockstar a little too much credit. It's most likely just an asset they randomly picked because it wasn't used much to make the graveyard feel more real. We've been so spoiled by rockstars attention to details that we sometimes forget not every single thing we find has a secret meaning behind it.

RIP John O'Creagh 🙏🏻🪦 His singing was also used in the Epilogue Misson "Uncle's Bad Day" Im glad they decided to keep that.

IF that’s the same flower necklace Jack made, MAYBE he placed it there when traveling with Abigail after she took him and left John at Pronghorn Ranch.

Crazy how Uncle has had 3 VAs and the recast one for RDR2 is such an iconic performance. Think uncles voice in the released game is the best but obviously RIP to the original actor

Abigail's flower necklace could be there for many reasons, I honestly believe it's either just an Easter Egg to reference the necklace in the Epilogue, or a dev forgot what the necklace was for and used it for decoration. If you want to get into the specifics, you could say it was placed there because that's supposed to be John's lost daughter's grave, though that's unlikely. Another theory may be that the grave belongs to Mac Callander, one of the Van der Linde gang members who dies after the Blackwater ferry job but before we get to meet them. We learn from agent Milton that Mac split from the gang and went the opposite direction, and since Dutch and the rest went north, he likely went south, so he would've been found and killed by Milton and Ross somewhere in New Austin. This is even more unlikely, but again- this could really be there for anything or any reason. Edit: 8:42 when you showed that rare interaction between Jack and Abigail, you cut off the first part, where Abigail asks what Jack is reading, and he replies telling her he's reading the Holy Bible, where she asks if he can read the passage Reverend Swanson read all the way back in Chapter 1 (Colter). If you were to actually revisit Chapter 1, you can see an interaction in the house where Abigail and young Jack are staying, where Swanson will stand up and read a passage from the Bible to the group, which is the passage she's referencing.

I played through the first few chapters many times yet only once did I see a scene where two guys find the camp at horseshoe overlook

2:43 I think when Jack mentioned his mother, he mentioned his actual mother and Abigail is just a stepmother and that is the grave of his mother that’s my theory and also maybe before the game takes place after she died but this is probably the most unlikely from dialogue in the game but there is a theory that John is not Jack’s father so this makes it a little more likely and Jack might be adopted as a orphan and his mother and father died somehow, and the gang might have found him somewhere west of the map in the game maybe looking over his mother’s grave in one they were searching somewhere to settle in between the year of 1899 and 1907. He could’ve put that necklace on her grave. But it’s a little like this theory is correct and maybe John Marston was Jack’s father but John’s wife died when Jack was at a very young age and John got made to another woman who was Abigail so maybe John put the flower necklace on the grave or maybe Jack did it too when he learned about his actual mother or if he just remembers her, there’s a lot of theories

John wasnt in New Austin until the first Red Dead, which is 7 years after the events in RDR2. He didnt know Armadillo or where Ft Mercer was- had to have a guide. Didnt know about Tumbleweed etc. The epilogue in RDR2 is a joke.
