Josie, I have followed you since summer break lol you've really grown and matured I will say, just from an outside perspective and I was a fan of you then too. you've gone thru a lot and really built your strong mind yourself and have accomplished soooo much.

I actually connected to this podcast way more than I thought I would. Thank y’all so much for sharing some of your personal life. It helps a lot of people (like myself) to feel less alone in their own situation. If you can, please share how you both became so independent! I’m struggling right now trying not to rely on certain people in my life who aren’t necessarily good for me. If you have any advice it would be much appreciated !

I love both of u guys so much and I do believe we should always be our authentic selves and be kind to others but it’s MUCH easier to have that mindset when you’ve been doing good financially since you came out of the womb

Charlotte is practicing active listening and compassionate inquiry here. She’s also very in tune and articulate about her feelings. I get the sense she reads a lot and has done therapy. Josie seems very down to earth.

i just want charlotte to know that when she doesnt feel safe and loved like you should within your family, you do not need that and you dont need to be in contact/ be close with them. Dont feel like youre doing something wrong because youve created a family within yourself an with those around you. I just hope you know that you shouldnt feel guilty for that because youre doing what you feel is best for you and thats 100% okay and what you should be doing. xoxo

Just wanna say I really enjoy this podcast and how authentic it is. I’ve actually had a similar experience as Josie with a cousin who texted me an inappropriate message once but in my case it’s known that he’s not entirely mentally capable as he is currently in prison for unrelated reasons but I’ve never told anyone in my family besides my sister and in a way it felt good to hear someone else go through something similar since it’s something that Ive always kept to myself. Thank you for not editing out the real shit another words :)

I used to watch Josie on summer break!! I remember thinking she was so beautiful and that she should model, now look at her!!

i didnt think id connect to this as much as i did especially with charlotte saying she doesn't need family. I've always felt like such a horrible person for feeling too independent and feeling like i'm kind of detached from my family in a sense but this def made me feel much better abt it and feel more normal seeing that someone else feels a similar way.

Really interesting to hear you guys discuss your relationships with your divorced parents and whether you stay connected with them or not. I struggle with the same issue of whether I should stay in contact with my Dad and if he deserves my respect/energy vs. feeling guilt/empathy since he did provide for me for part of my childhood. When Charlotte's saying she feels like she could learn from Josie, I think it's important not to compare the situations and what works for one person won't work for another. She would be best talking it through with a therapist to come to the most helpful solution for her.

I just became a mom at 22 and it changes your life so much! I’m still very much myself and love being a mom but it’s a 24/7 job and hard to get used to the lifestyle change

It's difficult sometimes not to blame your parents about your own faults and flaws. Especially because they raised you to form your personality as well as give you your traits from their DNA. However, free will allows you make your own decisions, take responsibility for them and grow. This was a cool podcast
