She was confused because half the time I'd flirt well and the other half I couldn't. Wasn't till that moment that the pieces snapped together and she figured out why. Also wasn't till that moment that I fully realized how much I subconsciously mirror the people around me to blend in...

Why are single people always portrayed as being incomplete / having their life revolve around constantly searching for someone to date? For the love of Pete, if you're single, go out and buy yourself sushi whenever you want! Go out and relax and get a coffee and people watch! Read a book or binge watch whatever tv show you please. Take control of your life and make it amazing! Enjoy the freedom, don't wallow in it. The right person will come along in time, and until then, being single just means you're strong enough to live life on your own terms.

Single or in a relationship, everyone wants to feel needed and everyone wants to have some degree of human contact. You can also get companionship and that feeling of being wanted through friendship, professional work life and other relations in life too, even in slightly different way.....actually... i think we get more companionship and that feeling of being needed outside of romantic relationship actually..Lets think about this: if your significant other was the only person in your life and you didn't have contact with other people... you are still gonna crave human contact. You will want to feel needed by someone other than your significant other too..life wouldn't be fun if your life only evolved around one person even if you might love this person. i think this stereotype of ''single is lonely and bad'' is totally false because you can still live a fulfilling and meaningful life even if you've never dated anyone in life. Its where you place your own value of self. Theres a lot more to life than just romance and procreation. yes, romance is beautiful and we all look for that special someone. Romance is beautiful, but it can also be harmful as evidenced by 50% divorce rate, sexual assault and domestic violence.

I'm single and none of this applies to me. I'm not socially awkward, I hate people touching me, and I'm genuinely happy when my friends get hitched. I don't believe in dating sites; my man will find me when the time is right. (That won't be for a while.)
Why does everyone always make it seem like there's something wrong with single people or that we're always sad or jealous? Some of us CHOOSE to be single and we can genuinely be happy for others when their relationships go well. It is no where near as bad as people make it seem.
Being single isn't something to be ashamed of. You shouldn't feel incomplete without someone, you should feel complete being just who you really are. So if being single makes you happy don't feel pressured to start dating just because the world thinks your not whole without someone.

Absolutely. Relationships are very overrated in my opinion, and society places way too much value on them. Nothing wrong with being single if you're happier that way.
Let be honest, overly happy/showy couples are annoying whether your single or in a relationship. That's great your happy but I don't need you shoving your relationship in my face and it just makes it look like your happiness is all fake. cough cough facebook couples cough cough.

What happens when your occupation can’t satisfy your needs as a social being? There are some things you can’t get out of a job that only a relationship can give you.
The thing is, not every single person wants to date..but actually the most ideal situation is when someone is single and meets another one who also really wants to date! That's like so ideal.

None of these apply to me (although human contact is nice) but I am still single af and have always been. The best part is always meeting other amazing people, just talking for hours on end, both of you having a great time and them being in a relationship every freaking time. I can be anywhere and meet someone who has no former connection to me or any of my friends whatsoever and never meet anyone I could even date lol
