@@saidhabbas5330 People would've also said Oklahoma couldn't beat Bama this year and they beat the shit out of them in the Sugar Bowl. Never really know until the game is played, but FSU won the ship and we didn't.
@@RockSmithStudio Thanks to the Spartans getting their first Big Ten Crown since 1987 and the trip to the Rose Bowl since 1988, and their 1st Win against Ohio State since 1998 and 1999.
As an OSU fan congrats to MSU, you earned and just makes our conference even better when we have another team doing really good in our conference. We'll see you next year and we will have an even better class and hopefully better defensive coordinators.
At what? Man that FSU was the most dominant team in modern history. Not an opinion. That's a statistical fact. They avg margin of victory was 39.5. Highest since 1947 army. Nobody was beating them.
CONGRATULATIONS MSU!!Rose Bowl Champions 2014-impressive victory over Stanford. If Alabama loses you will finish #2 and if Alabama wins most likely #3.Could be a decade long battle between OSU and MSU for that playoff spot every year?
That was GREAT game! Can't believe it's been passed a month. . . .felt like this game was yesterday. Lord knows I can't wait for the playoff system next year!
We look extra awesome when you cut out all the OSU scores hehe. GO GREEN! Also, noticed while watching this...every touchdown we scored was down in our end of the field. We scored in the "Michigan State" endzone every time. Love. It.
I can not believe Spartan finally is back to Rose Bowl!! First time since 1988. Tony Mandarich with his "Never surrender tattoo" What a memory..Welcome back Spartan!
This Michigan State team was scary good that year. Could have easily had a chance to win the NC that year but a Rose Bowl victory, nothing to get mad about there.
Great to come back and watch this game after the 2017 MSU game at Ohio State went so poorly. Lewerke couldn't do anything when the O-Line could not stop the defense
I’m young so this was only the second year I was an Ohio State fan and this was the first loss I experienced it was a sad day... and then the next game vs Clemson hurt too although they were both good games
I am an ohio state fan congrats to the spartans for an great game. Now celebrate for now because once you see the team come together with the type of players urban meyers like to have we will win multiple championships
In 2011-2013 they had 2 different divisions called Legends and Leaders. These divisions did not care about Geography at all, so OSU and MSU happened to be in different divisions despite both being on the east side. In 2014, Maryland and Rutgers were added to the conference and the B1G decided to create the east and west divisions that exist today.
Everybody said it Ohio state only won because of how weak the big ten and there opponents were Michigan state was there biggest challenge and they showed that offense wins games but defense wins championship i am a USC fan but I love the way MS plays on d much respect I would love to see them play against FSU
MSU is overrated...How does it feel to lose to both teams that played in the National Championship by double digits one of which was at home. Amazing a tough opponent comes along in your schedule and you choke
***** Its almost like a domino effect. Spartans are reacting to Buckeye comments and vise versa. I use the general definition of "Hater", not my own. I've lived in Columbus before and can honestly say that Columbus, as well as the rest of Ohio, are extremely arrogant and sore losing fans. Thats not to say that everyone in Ohio is like that though.
OmegaTheGOD I agree with that. I'm from Ohio and my entire family didn't want to say a word to me after the Buckeyes lost. Michigan St. did the nation a favor because nobody wanted to see OSU get slaughtered by FSU for the title.
I wish it was sat November 8 to I am hoping ohio state wins this year but I hope every big 10 team wins there bowl games so the big 10 could get back to the days of old as the most dominating conference in the country
The only Big Ten team to beat Urban Meyer OSU twice. And one of only two teams to beat him twice(Clemson the other). Narduzzi was huge with the defense strategy. Too bad he now has turned on us.
AH the days when MSU was competitive with OSU. Mark Dantonio needs to give Mel Tucker pointers as to how to beat OSU next year and not lose 56-7 to them again like they did this year
@79steelymatt. First off I'm a Bama fan not a Spartan fan. I was merely referring to the fact that oswho was not as good as they thought they were. And I always keep it in proper perspective.
This defense was something else, man. I truly believed they could have and would have beaten that Florida State team, but alas, it was not meant to be.
I was always afraid Michigan's State's defense was going to tear up OSU.. I was thinking OSU would win 14-7 or around there. I can not believe how badly the OSU defense was. It felt like every play a guy was chasing after Cook but barely ever got to him in time.. Michigan State's DBs/secondary showed up(Dennard is a beast), Ohio State's DBs did not. However I feel like Ohio State showed up Michigan State's defense with 24 points.
Chris, that poor display of defense is what kept yall out the title game. I'm from Ohio, but I can't stand tOSU. Out of all the teams I've witnessed over the years, this years Buckeyes defense had to be the worst I'd have ever seen. Whoever calls the plays on D must go!
I don't even think its coaching thats the problem.. all year silly mistakes from DBs, whether they were a freshman or a senior - cost us so many points, and this game. Roby was supposed to step up and be a leader. We had lots of depth, but not much real experience. 2 Senior safeties, one who broke his ankle halfway through the season, were our leaders. Roby needed to step up as a junior but failed to do so as a coverage CB. Next year I feel will be much better, especially if Ryan Shazier stays.
Valid points. But isn't it the coaches job to put their players in the best positions to make plays regardless of them being freshman, or Seniors? That's their job to begin with, right and what's the point of practicing, and preparing all week for games if you're going to play as poor as they did? I'm interested to see what you guys can do against Clemson. #2 Sammy Watkins is a guy to watch out for. He's hard to slow down if he gets into open field.
I don't think it'll be as bad as some are making it out to be. Roby can play aggressive and jam pretty well, and as long as there is a deep safety(something we have done pretty well when the safety is in a good position) it won't be easy to make completions. I wanna see Jameis Winston go off on Auburn's defense!
It should be a good game. I can't wait, either! I'm ready to see FSU shut up all these SEC homers, and fan boys! Jameis is going light up their D! Auburn doesn't have anybody that can match up with our man child at WR Kelvin Benjamin. I'm so excited for this game, man. One more week!
To all the OSU fans bragging about your upcoming top recruiting seasons... That doesnt matter AT ALL. My texas team has that every year and we havent done jack for like 5 years. Urban meyer is a good offensive coach, he can't beat great defenses though. Thats why he left the SEC because of saban. And dantonio was part of the saban coaching tree
Actually Jim Tressell gave Mark Dantonio his first real coaching job(defensive coordinator) at Youngstown State in 1986-he was a graduate assistant at Ohio,Purdue,Butler CC,Ohio State and a DB coach at Akron in 1985(my uncle played for him there)Tressell then made him DC at YSU in 1986.I don't now where you have this theory about top recruits not mattering-I disagree,it doesn't guarantee success but it doesn't hurt them either. For further proof of this look at Phil Steele's website and he breaks down high school recruits ratings after those individuals have been drafted into the NFL and the facts don't match up with your points.I think a lot of HS kids burn out when they reach the big time programs because there are just as many talented kids as them who are just as big and fast as them.Who do you think you guys are going to get as your new coach?
Since the BCS started, the Rose became another bcs game; point blank period.... I'm not hating on Mich st, they won the game but it's the National championship and then every other bowl including the BCS bowls....
This makes it two years in a row where teams have been ranked very high based on their record and not on who they beat, both being exposed when playing a good team. This year is Ohio State and last year was Notre Dame.
That's why they should go to an 8 team playoff instead of 4. It's just too difficult to figure out the best teams in a 12-13 game season. The over looked teams will beat the overrated teams.
Exactly. But at least Ohio State lost- they should thank michigan state for saving them the embarrassment in playing Florida State in the BCS Championship. It would of been like last year. ND got raped and everyone knew that would happen before the game. No surprises. Thank god this is the last year of this shitty system. I was not a fan at all and always put college football on the back burner of sports. It was impossible for teams that were good to play the best, since schedules are already made out, that's why you see the same schools constantly play in the championship and other bcs bowl games. Those schools that are not super well-known would of been impossible to make it far, even if they were a "bcs buster". Hopefully in the playoff system, we'll see programs that will finally make names for themselves, like what University of Miami did in the 80s.
Overrated State University!!! Thank you MSU!!!! The way that they got exposed by Northwestern and Michigan, this really didn't surprise me though. tOSU=Oregon MSU=Stanford.
