This is my early journey into printing on a large gel plate (16x20). I've been gel printing for many years but never this large, until I went through a hard season losing my husband to brain injuries. I came across Fulton Sim at @artwhisperer88 who inspires many of us with his retro minimalist printmaking sometimes inspired from other modern art masters.
I'm inspired by Fulton, but going my own way of exploration with printmaking in an effort not to copy him. I hope I inspire you in some small way, too. If I can do this creative life, so can you. Remember, Dreams Never Die.

You ars not alone with circles they are never ending and that makes them so attractive to artists. I once read a book about circles used in architecture which was very interesting.

Thank you, Cora Anne, for your comments about circles. I know circles are huge influence on many artists. Architects are artists, too. Peace 🌿

I'm not sure, but it's probably Somerset Velvet paper from Dick Blick. There's a direct link in the description below the video. Thanks for your questions & comments, Susan. Peace 🌿

So, do you hang your prints while you’re deciding what to do next? Interesting idea.

It's my 1st time. I saw another artist display like this at a show. I've already mounted one on a cradle panel. It looks pretty good. Just needs a floater frame.

so you didn't need to add paint to integrate the collage in because you accomplished that with color harmony and placement choices in the first place? its lovely and all seems to belong together as it is. i am trying to learn more about the collage integration part, and i think i just did. thank you! : D
@KateWordArt
@KateWordArt Год назад
Thanks so much, Judith. I would only need paint if there was a distracting, hard edge of paper, especially in a focal area. I'd use a paint color that would help blend the two and reduce contrast. I may use some yellow ochre in the upper left if the hard edges of the horizontal paper starts bugging me. And I'd use a dry brush scumbling technique with my brush, with not much paint, adding a little at a time.

Yes. Or Perhaps mute it while you’re speaking.
@KateWordArt
@KateWordArt Год назад
@avanellehansen4525 my editing software doesn't allow me to mute music while I record narrative. Older version of my video producer. I'll try to dial it back a notch. Thanks for your feedback. I'm launching again on Friday & I'll check it out. 🌿
