Very cool! I did a little tinkering today with .410, putting two .390 round balls in on top of Lil Gun, a wad with the petals cut off, and some leather discs/cards I cut from some scrap pieces. Hoping to test them out tomorrow.
Any time that your fingers are on or around the crimp it makes a contrast and the crimp becomes more visible. I noticed this first when you put your index finger on the pre crimp. Great information.
Interesting load.. looking forward to see how it performs! Marty does mighty fine machine work but i wish he would put the deep/continuous sprue well on his regular molds. It would make them so much easier to use. Thanks for the video...
I discovered yall through my dad, Ive been binging your videos, and it looks like you boys are in need of an improved patterning stand. I welded one up a few months ago and posted it to my channel, its pretty slick If I do say so myself. 30”x30” target opening, and holds a 30” wide roll of “duck” brand packing paper, and one roll is good for 12 shots worth of patterns. But you could modify it to hold any size roll you want to use. Hope it can be of some use to yall!
Did a lot of loading and shooting of 12 gauge slugs, years back. Both factory and my reloads. Quit after awhile, because of a serious case of flinchits. Steady diet of 12 gauge one ounce+ slugs was making me punch drunk. Specially trying to shoot them from the bench for accuracy, at 50 and 100 yd. targets. Can't imagine what a 2.6 ounce load would feel like? Best be very careful shooting it! Don't want to dislocate your shoulder. I would shoot it from a standing rest. With very heavy padding between the butt of the shotgun and your shoulder. It's a very novel experiment, but IMHO totally impractical.
We shoot these all time as well as bigger and heavier loads. Recoil isn’t bad, we shoot them like any other load. 54 pellet #4 buck loads from Winchester weigh the exact same. We accuracy test using a lead sled for complete stability and near complete mitigation of recoil.
We’ve shot 2.5 ounce slugs using lil gun in 3” we used 41 grains but no idea the pressure on it. We used an ultra slug which is way sturdier than say a maverick 88.
@@cameronkendall1334 let me know how it goes please id like to know the pressure. Recoil is brutal. Look up the 1082 grain slug video we did, you’ll see the data.
I bet this sucker would slap a deer down. I think there is some kind of cumulative effect on the system with multiple projectile hits.....not sure though.
