My parents drank the “plant based” cool-aid before I was born. I was raised on basically no animal foods and tons of beans and grains. It destroyed my gut and mental health. I have found tremendous relief on a low carb animal based diet full of saturated fat and cholesterol. Finally I am healing. My brain works now. I used to feel so dumb but now I know it was my diet. I am really bothered by this push to make everyone vegan. Thank you for be a voice of reason ❤️
Hopefully you have found the Weston A Price Foundation.... a godsend for those wanting a nutrient-dense diet One particular thing I would recommend if you haven't already figured it out is liver. It is the greatest superfood on the planet. It should supply tons of the nutrients we have been missing.
Not trying to defend plant based diets as I am not plant-based myself, but maybe your parents did it wrong? I know people who are plant-based and they look and feel fantastic. One of my sisters has been plant-based for over 10 years and she feels and looks great. She went to one of the top schools in Paris and has a great job today so her brain capacities were never affected. I do think plant-based diets work for a lot of people. You just have to do it right.
I am 64 ...was healthy when I ate a European, fat based diet till my early 20's... that was until doctors, dietician and general medical ppl, over time told me I should not eat butter, or too many eggs etc. after which I went onto a 'low-fat' diet advised by them. I became obese and ill with Type 2 Diabetes, arthritis, fibromyalgia and cancer. Just over a year ago I found YOU Dr Berg, religiously followed your suggestions and in that time since, I lost 30 kilos, my Type 2 is gone, my ophthalmologist ( for which I was getting needles in my eyes due to type 2) is impressed with my return of vision! There is a lot to be said about omega 3's and low carb. Thank you Doc. I know you have saved me from an early death. 🥰👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻🙏🏻
@Experiment HealthyKeto Watch this video of Dr. Bergs'. He has many vids of just about any topic of keto health etc. I found him on RU-vid over a 1 & 1/2 yrs ago. As to how much I take... watch this older video of his to help you on your travels:- ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5aQjULjyFpY.html GOOD LUCK 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
The saturated fat myth is based off of faulty science from the 60s or 70s... The veggie based diets pushed now are being pushed in the name of climate control. None of it has to do with what's actually best for one's health
thats the Manupulations these evil billionaires do on sheeps. If you are Indian which i guess you are by your name, do you remember a time when our mothers used to cook in ghee. And the they have launched THE SAFFOLA OIL by demonizing ghee.
The Innuit have survived on blubber and meat fat for thousands of years. They, before a western diet intervened, had very low rates of heart disease or dementia.
No, after listening to your education for some years now, I do not think saturated fat is bad for our health. Thank you, Eric Berg for providing such excellent information❣️🤗
These commissions are run by the self proclaimed elites who have billions and billions of dollars. They want people dumbed down, unhealthy, sick, not reproducing and dying early (off SS). All these results lead them to gaining more "wealth" and power. The less you have, the more they have. Just look at the evidence of our school system, diet recommendations, etc.... I'm not even getting into some conspiracy theories either which some look plausible as well.
Back to pre 80s. Many people cook food with lard (drop pork and stir fry together and let it release lard) and it's pretty tasty. Back then cardiovascular disease wasn't that much until artificial oil came along (corn oil, canola oil) Such oil release nasty smoke and it's hard to clean
Hey dr.berg. I’m 22 years old and I watch all your videos. I use to eat junk food and would drink about 6+ cokes a day but I stopped because your videos. You’ve helped me so much and I want to thank you. Now I eat 3 eggs a day as my first meal at 12pm and take your D3 and K2 vitamins after I eat my eggs. I eat way more vegetables and fatty proteins like hamburger meet and steaks ( all grass fed of course ). I don’t eat after 6 and do it all over again. At about 6:30 I’ll blend a whole lemon in some water. Doing all that makes me feel great and I have more energy and I don’t wake up tired or mad anymore. Thank you so much dr berg. I couldn’t do it without your information!
I never once believed meat or fatty meat is bad for us! I've seen far more vegans struggle with serious health issues at a young age than people who binge on fast food, smoke, or drink a lot of alcohol (those will get their share of troubles, but later). What I fully stand behind though, is that there's a vast difference between industrially produced meat and meat from an animal raised in the open (whether pastured on a farm or a wild one).
Another way of distinguishing between fats is to consider their stability, their resistance to oxidation and other damage. Using that measure, saturated fats are the STABLE fats. Polyunsaturated fats are the UNSTABLE fats: that is they are subject to oxidation very easily . Added to that, the production process for industrial seed oils [Omega 6 polyunsaturated UNSTABLE oils] involves all sorts of damage: heat, exposure to harsh chemicals. That all will tend to damage these unstable fats
Dr Berg has said for a long time that following a low fat diet can cause gallstones and this applies to me for sure. However, mainstream medicine is still telling people to avoid high fat foods. I think it needs to be explained that unhealthy trans fats will not help at all. But increasing the healthy fats will do us so much good.
When I was pregnant with my first child, a nurse told me to not eat bacon. I ignored her and ate it anyway. The problem with just saying healthy fats is that most people consider veggie oils healthy and animal fats bad. That's how much they have been brainwashed by the medical community that doesn't know anything about health or healing. And yeah, trans fats are silent killers.
I grew up in Europe and moved in US in my early twenties, growing up there I can honestly say that I never knew anyone that had allergies or anyone that was depressed. Coming in the US I was shocked to discover that almost everyone has allergies and most people feel depressed. I believe it s a combination of diet and lifestyle that is completely out of balance. My diet as a kids was lots of fresh vegetables from the garden and fresh fruit that were in season and in the winter time mostly meats, saturated fat, pickled veggies and occasional canned fruit also from the garden.
I think you were just younger and didn’t notice those things. The depression rate in Europe is pretty much the same as the states. How can everyone not be depressed when they are are bombarded from the media, schools and politicians about how we’re all going to die from global warming or get blown up by Putin.
@@vickynoname334 I'm sure you're correct Vicky about the pharmaceutical companies. But I don't think we should Miss pointing out the fast food restaurant phenomenon in the United States. There is a Burger King McDonald's Pizza Hut Taco Bell on every corner. Our only saving Grace is the Mexican restaurants everywhere that give a balance of delicious meats versus beans and rice. A combination my stomach absolutely loves.🥰 I don't think I've ever left a Mexican restaurant without a content feeling in my stomach :-)
@Cris I'm from the U.S. and have a huge family from many continents to include Europe and the difference in lifestyle, priorities, food quality, and overall outlook seem to be much more positive abroad, at least from an individualistic basis. Granted, the medical establishment is global and thus one can find many common denominators from country to country in terms of opinion however, and in short, I agree with what you've written not to mention obesity/food addiction is very prevalent here.
Have been told "Eating fat makes you fat" my entire life. Parents, grandparents, husband, educators (starting in primary school), friends, in-laws, media, beauty, food and medical industries. Recently, a long-time friend who should know better, saw that I had lost a lot of weight on Dr. Berg's healthy Keto, IF and regular exercise regimen, and admonished me once again "Don't you know eating fat makes you fat?". And there I was, living proof that she was wrong, she repeated the mantra anyway. This misconception has been deeply rooted in every aspect of American life for decades.
Yes another example of brainwashing. People hear something their whole life and they pass it on as if it's written in stone. Dr Berg as far as I'm concerned has not proven that he is deficit in any way. Another doctor that I have followed online since 2000 is Dr David Williams. Healthy directions is his company. This guy tells things 20 years ahead of time. And then when medical people catch up with him he's already been saying it for decades.
Actually, it's opposite. Butter and coconut oil are oils helped me to fix fatty liver along with low carb diet. GPST dropped from 117 to 46 in 4 months
I knew it. My gut told me to start eating fat for my hormones and skin. My body is healing now. Listen to your body folks. And Dr. Berg! He knows his stuff! 🥰👍🙏❤
I was a vegetarian for 35 years and only started eating meat again after being forced to discover for myself why I felt so ill. My doctor was and still is completely clueless! When I started Keto and IF virtually all my symptoms cleared up. And a year on I am in a pretty good place, however it is clear to me that the food industry, pharmaceutical companies and the medical profession are determined to sentence everyone to slow painful death in order to protect their professions and profit margins. It is despicable the lengths they go to in order to confuse, obfuscate and perpetuate their activities. Damn them, damn them all to Hell!
Best wishes for your continued good health. I'm happy for people who say they are in good health following a vegetarian eating style, but it does seem to almost always eventually catch up with them. Not just the lack of animal derived nutrients, but increased sensitivity over time to the ill effects of lectins, phytates, oxalates etc. that are so abundant in a plant based diet.
I am a fat lover [saturated) and I’ve always preached it’s advantages. Even back in the 80’s, I could always tell when someone was fat deficient. It’s very aging. Thank Dr. Berg for spreading the word.❤️
I cut out any form of vegetable oils eat more chicken,Turkey, duck, fish, and grass fed meat. Had palpitations for years since I can remember. Now not a single palpitation for the last 3 years.
I have eaten 1-2 pounds of beef daily for over 30 years, most of it as fatty marked down ground beef. I use coconut oil I extract myself or beef tallow for frying. Ate sticks of butter as a snack growing up. For decades I have eaten no wheat based foods, no vegetable oils from the store, nothing sweet except the occasional fruit. Unvaccinated and covid positive three times in three years but hardly symptomatic. Never have had antibiotics in my life. This despite working in dirt and having many scrapes and cuts. 54 with no grey hair and no hair loss. Every morning I eat 3 eggs cooked in butter with breakfast. My daily calorie count is 3-4000 daily and I am the same weight as when 25. If saturated fats were so bad why do I seem so healthy ?
For me, saturated fat is high octane fuel. My health has improved immensely since consuming mote of this vital food. A giant benefit is loss of mood swings-I’m much more stable mentally/emotionally. Plus all the benefits that you have described in this video. Thanks for bringing out the truth of saturated fat.
Thanks for shining a light and debunking the myths about saturated fats. I’ve been keto for three years snd did well, learning that fat can be your friend. Now have been doing carnivore for a couple weeks and eating even more fat and am already feeling an upswing in mood and sleeping more soundly.
I have been Keto for five years, eating mostly saturated fats, coconut oil and butter, and it has healed me a lot!! 🙂🥥 It's the best fat.. I probably eat 90% saturated fats of all fats
@@marting.9613 your body makes more cholesterol when there's inflammation 🙂 I know a woman who goes on a high fat diet every so often to lower inflammation and "bad" cholesterol. Her cholesterol gets higher when she eats carbs, the LDL. But another thing that even lots of doctors don't know, there are two types of LDL cholesterol, and one of those is even beneficial. However, doctors ( most of them) just tell you your overall cholesterol (LDL) as if there was just one type of LDL. I don't go to doctors and haven't been in over 10 years, so I don't know, and it doesn't matter, because your body makes cholesterol, and more if you do not eat it. "Bad" cholesterol comes from eat sugar and carbs 🙂
Thank you for the heads, up! My Sunday school teacher always said that the devil always _overreaches_ before it gets destroyed. Bless You! I’ve never beaten my own gut issues until I followed your advice.
Meat heavy or meat only diet (with fasting) is a super cure for gut and skin issues. Thank you Dr. Berg for pushing against this malicious garbage. They really do want people sick and dependant.
@Ralph Hammond Mr. Lew is not on a meat based diet. He eats ice cream… you can’t promote something you’re not actually doing yourself lol its funny when people say they’re on a meat only diet and saying it helps their gut when in reality it brings diarrhea and constipation. Also I’m not vegetarian or vegan so don’t get your panties in a bunch.
@@Seddysaid OP also said "meat heavy". There are people who do thrive on a carnivore diet. Just because it didn't work out for you, it doesn't mean it won't work for anyone else
Yes! Yes! Yes! I lost 80 pounds consuming more animal fat. I like a little potato with my grass fed butter. I had severe adrenal issues and was throwing up a while back and a grass fed hamburger felt like a miracle after I ate it. When my husband and I have steaks, I always eat the fat from his steak, too. :) And I am glad that you said that about pregnant women and the babies needing cholesterol. And for what you said about the brain being mostly cholesterol. I've put on a few pounds from eating too much ice cream, so I need to increase my animal fat again! That Lancet Commission can take a long walk off of a short pier. It's the veggie oils that are so bad for your health, not the animal fats.
If your eating ice cream and potato’s. Increasing your animal fat isn’t going to help you lose weight. You need to cut the carbs. Those carbs are going to spike your blood sugar and then the fat you eat will be stored as fat not burned. Mixing high carbs and fat is a recipe for disaster.
@@dontfit6380 I stopped eating the ice cream and I'll never stop eating potatoes. I don't eat them every day. I've already lost about 5 pounds this past week. Everybody is different and my body seems to do just fine with the way I eat when I'm not eating too much ice cream.
@@dontfit6380 WELL maybe you're right.. but what if the person exercises self-control and only has a very small portion of potato or ice cream as long as you stay within your carb amount, which for a lot of people are between 20 and 40 carbs a day. You could make that your only carb! What do you think of that DON'T FIT? ALSO; You could make your potato starch resistant. Then you could have more of your potato! :-) 😁
My grandmother lived to be 101 yrs old. She didnt smoke or drink but she drank coffee, ate meat, fat, etc. Some veggies and the occassional snack. Also she was never negative and never spoke negatively about other people, always kind, always happy, very family-oriented and very spiritual. I think it's a combination of everything good that we all need to do. Keep the vibes high and the fat high. Lol
Regarding the diet you spoke of at the end: That diet is likely motivated by an agenda rather than good intent. They want you to eat less, because there will be less (food shortages). Personally, increasing fat was the missing link to my MS recovery. Now with high fat, my body is actually using the vitamins i consume. Many thanks to you Dr. Berg, your videos are very relatable, and are jam packed with common sense. Thank You!
Hello Dr Berg I found your videos in November 2021, I gradually switched to Keto. My skin and hair texture have changed. No more acne, hair loss, colds, headaches and even lost weight. My health has improved a lot listening to your informative and valuable videos. Thank you so much. I respect you
Im 64 and have been carnivore for almost 4 years.. My skin looks so young and soft its incredible.. Also my hair, eyes and teeth are amazing as well.. EAT YOUR FAT!
I went to a cardiologist today, who told me that animal products and coconut oil are the worst thing for me to be eating! I nearly cried :( How can we (re) educate doctors that still think the old beliefs are still right?
Do you know that accumulation cholesterol in arteries are body's response to wear and tear done by poisoning things that we eat on daily bases, such Vegetable oils, bleached salts etc. Cholesterol is trying to heal, but arteries should not get this wear and tear in the first place. Your dr. will laugh at you if you educate them unfortunately
Many doctors have been inspired by their patients to re-study data or study new data. I think strong willed patients are doctors’ saving Grace. Look at Dr Ken Berry!
Thanks for this Dr B! My family has eaten beef/lamb and eggs everyday for the past 4 years. I eat almost 2 lbs per day. You put me onto healthy lifestyle and i value your excellent info. We are thriving! We haven’t been sick in over 3 years.
@@MP-kc8sl Have you considered getting your foods from a caring farmer/ gardener? Their prices are sometimes cheaper than in supermarkets because the “middle man” (supermarket) is out of the equation. Also more people get eggs & meats from community gardens. More people learn to raise quails at home.
Thank you Dr. Berg for concentrating on what a healthy diet looks like. I can't tell you how many times I've sought dietary advice during an annual physical examination and wasn't given any. "Just keep doing what you're doing" is a typical response. I would take it as a compliment, but I left frustrated none the less. Your tutorials are filling the enormous diet vacuum that has been created perhaps by the over reliance on pharmaceuticals. One surprising thing that happened recently was that one of my physicians recommend that we consume dairy products to increase our vitamin D levels to fight off Viruses. I was kind of shocked, but in a good way!

Thank you Dr. Berg for your guidance on nutrition. Without having a health problem, I took many of your tips, such as intermittent fasting, consumption of saturated fats, elimination of sugar, consumption of meat, consumption of vegetables, and what I can say is that I feel more energetic and mentally clear. I would really appreciate it if your videos had subtitles in Spanish so that people from Spain and Latin America could benefit from your advice. Thank you very much. Greetings from Mexico.
My gut is much happier when I’m on keto diet , dr berg you are not missing anything you are absolutely right , I have tried on myself for almost one year and it’s working . All of my blood test is in normal limit , all of my liver enzymes are in normal level , thank you so much 😊🙏
I would agree doc. From olden times, ghee for instance, has been an essential part of the diet of all Indians, especially those who are strict vegetarians. Moreover, ghee combined with roasted cumin and jaggery has been an absolute must for new and lactating mothers. Fats really do make a meal wholesome and satiating. However, one needs to mind the type of fat and the quantity. Thankyou for this very informative video.
I've also had a lot of gut issues and the best I've eaten for that is beef. I grew up not being very fond of meat but I'm starting to eat it more and more when I've seen how beneficial it is.
@@Drberg hey doctor berg can I have a question 🙏 I heard that pcos can't be diagnosed with sonar with girls under 18 years because ovarian cysts are a part of growth in this age and it disappear after 18 automatically so is that true? thanks dr berg, i'm the patent of arthritis and i just started 3egs, butter, beef and dry fasting 2 days in a week 2months before really it's miracle feeling so good.
Excellent, excellent, excellent video Dr. Berg!! This is such an important topic and I'm so glad you covered what you did at the end. We won't stand for this diet, which "they" want us to eat. I will keep eating my meat and fat and I will keep feeling amazing by doing so!
Dr Berg, I see all your video and you are amazing you give us in depth knowledge of health. Plz keep us motivated and make more videos. Plz make video on sleep deprivation and hair fall.
Neeta,.. I know that Dr Berg has made videos on hair loss and sleep deprivation. For hair loss he mentions vitamin b in the form of nutritional yeast. But I know he has some other videos and other advice on that. And as for sleep deprivation I would say no sugar in your diet. And low carb. I sleep like a baby when I'm fasting also. But I know Dr Berg has had some very specific things to say about this topic. Look it up! 🙂 Last night I took 5-HTP which is an amino acid it will help with sleep also, especially if you wake up during the night it helps you get back to sleep quickly.
1) One amazing advantage that I can suggest is that saturated fats are least subjected to oxidation and production of free radicals. 2) Plus saturated fats can be cooked at higher temperatures. Unsaturated fats, when cooked at higher temperatures may result in the formation of trans fats. 3) The human body develops the least amount of immune response against fats compared to carbohydrates or proteins. Thus, saturated fats are a better option when compared to unsaturated fats or even carbohydrates.
The way you explain everything is nothing short of incredible. You've totally changed my mindset and I'm feeling healthier and younger than ever before. I've also been able to stop taking several medications that I was dependent on such as Nexium.
I started Keto December 2021. My HDL improved 30 % in 3 months from 32 to 44 .A1c at 5.3 . i have lost 50 lbs. and still going. I have convinced myself meat and butter are health foods.
Thank you Dr. Berg. I think a lot of those recent recommendations are propaganda to get people on a more vegetarian diet. Every time in the past when I've cut back on saturated animal fat, I never felt my best. I had some good steaks last night and I slept well and feel great this morning.
It is true Dr Berg, animal fat is good for our body as long as we consumed with out of carbs or sweets. Mix of fat and carbs, damaged our body more then it helps.
Yes doc, school always taught that plant based fat(unsaturated fats) are healthier but i had been doing extensive research and believed that animal fats, especially clarified ghee is the most important component of diet
My wife and I used to be on the Keto diet, but went to the Carnivore diet because she developed breast cancer. Her pains went away on the Carnivore diet and she has so much more energy. No more gas on the Carnivore diet! There's so many lectins in the vegetables, they were hard for us to digest. We buy the 75% grass fed beef from US Wellness and mix it with the heart, liver and beef that they sell. There's a lot of healthy fat left over when we cook it and it tastes so yummy when we poor it over our hamburger patties that we make. We eat a little fruit and also have raw dairy. If you think about it... fruit is really the only part of the plant that the plant wants you to eat. The plant has defense chemicals in the rest of it. And these defense chemicals cause inflammation and leaky gut. I think that's why we're doing so much better on the Carnivore diet. So we love pickles, which is a fruit by the way. We eat all kinds of fruit for our electrolytes and antioxidants.
Thanks so much for your insight into the political intervention of our diets. I have been following you for almost a year, enjoying the healthy keto diet, and have never felt better! Very much appreciate you sharing your educated knowledge with so many!
Sir I think excess of everything is dangerous. Things naturally obtained must have benefits. Doing IF, with the use of mainly protein portion is really workable. Good and informative videos. Keep doing this practice for providing benefits to mankind. Well done! Regards

Throughout Jewish Law and writings, fat is referred to as מוּבחָר, _choice, best_ . This is true regarding all types of fat: animal, fish, and milk, all of which have been essential to the Torah diet and Jewish eating tradition for more than 3,000 years. Torah-observant Jews today regularly consume beef, poultry, fish, and milk products high in fat. Especially a lot of fatty fish, which is considered to be "brain food." *Embrace your cultural traditions! Reject the corporations!*
