Can you run a slider on a Downrigger if the rigger has a Spindoctor and fly?

You can but it may not always be the best idea. We will fix stack them with a rubber band, but if a big fish hit the stack, it will probably tangle. We don’t seem to loose the fish just have to cut and retie it after.

What size boat would b good to troll for salmon in lake Michigan also when trolling with planner boards what weight would be best if im use braid
@Reel2ReelOutdoors

I use braid as backer on my rods. I use Suffix 832 in #50. As far as boats go generally the bigger boats troll better and have better speed and angle control. They are not effected by the wind as much. The Great Lakes are very powerful and need to be respected. That being said most boats can handle calm seas but the lake can change quickly so paying attention to weather and forecasts is critical.

Any advice for a beginner whats best tackle and what should I start with ?

Tackle is very specific to areas and species fished. I would go to a quality tackle shop and seek their advice. They will know what to use and where to fish in that area. Captain Chucks in Ludington is a great place around us. If you are brand knew to trolling I would advise you to take a charter and specify that you want to learn how to set rods and pick baits. Most quality charters will offer a learning trip. It will save you money in the long run.

What exactly do the black slick and white slick paddles look like. Are they pure black or white? Or do they have that uv tape on them. And then on the double glow cut plug, is there a specific length of plug you like? Thanks

I will post a short video to show these. If there are any other specific baits you'd like to see let me know and I'll include those in the video too.

Do you have a problem with stackers tangling with paddles when you catch a fish on the stacker bait? I stopped putting stackers on rigger lines that have paddles due to loosing fish when the stacker tangled with the paddle.

You do get some tangles but rarely does it break and you loose the fish. It is like a free rod to me. If they tangle we just cut them and grab a new one or retie them.

This is great, thanks. On a side note... you filmed all these episodes the same day or agreed to all wear the same clothes (exactly) every time. haha wondering how many malt pops got drank for that day. Keep up the good info. Thanks! Liked and Subbed.
