Chords aren't that bad in general on 12 strings but playing songs where you have to hit individual strings quickly and then go back to chords (especially barre chords) is hard
As a piano player I could choose 12 string guitar because is much more flexible in terms of notes you can play at the same time, BUT, I will choose 6 STRING GUITAR because is much more versatile in terms of TEHNIQUE (you can TAPP better, play artificial harmonics easier, slapping it easier, bending easier, and some other tehniques that on a 12 string would be very difficult to do...)

I'm so glad! 🤗 So I understand that you want to buy a guitar and start playing. In this case I strongly recommend you a 6 string guitar because is (obviously) easier to play. The amount of pressure needed to fret a 12 string is high, so it can be very tiring & discouraging for a begginer... Also, the 12 string FINGERSTYLE is much more complex & advanced than on a regular 6 string one! (I'll post a video with that soon!) 🤫 And in terms of maintenance, is obviously that 12 string guitar needs more overall care, and tuning can also be frustrating, especially if you are a new player or the guitar is not of good quality... Therefore, grudgingly I'll say that 12 string guitar is a fun & special version of the regular 6 string one that, IF SOMEONE REALLY WANTS TO PLAY IT REGARDLESS OF THE DIFFICULTIES, I ENCOURAGE HIM TO BUY IT AND ENJOY IT! 🤗😉
@@anthonyjohnny1470 I've decided to go for the twelve string because im not exactly a beginner (some 5 months playing) and it felt really good to try it out on a store today. Sadly here in Brazil there arent many wood options and most guitars are laminated wood or too expensive, so a standart solid spruce top will have to do ( i dislike the sharpness of it and wanted a warmer tone), i guess having only 3 options makes it easier to choose haha. @@end.olives I am very glad! Have fun playing it and don't give up learning it! You should focus on a tehnique and on Fingerstyle. Properly Fingerpicking a 12 string is hard but very rewarding because it sounds heavenly, trust me!😁 (I will post some videos with 12 string Fingerpicking - a really non-discussed and overlooked topic).

Honestly I keep my guitar 90% of the time in the Whole Step Down Tuning or even Two Whole Steps for my Indie, Soulful, Relaxing videos I'm about to post, 🤫 but I tuned it for this video in the Standard Tuning for the Original Tuning that a 12-String Guitar have! 😉
Because it's the thinnest one and tuned to the highest frequency, plus I started playing 12-String Guitar first, so I'm pretty used with that High G string... :)

No Gonzales. The 12 string guitar tuning that I have shown in the video is correct. And a pack of 12 string guitar strings has the octave strings along normal ones.
