Ah yes, the inner monologue. It's almost annoying at times how little I've been able to just sit and think about nothing. So many different scenarios crop up out of nowhere, whether it's future conversations or confrontations I might have, things from my past that I've mulled over a hundred times, or ideas for stories I've yet to write. It's both a blessing and a curse. It's frustrating that I've always been a better writer than a speaker. I stumble over my words a lot unless I talk about something I love, and then I ramble on about it for ten minutes because I'm so unused to talking about it. I notice so many different facial expressions and bits of body language from people I talk to or observe talking. I can instantly tell when someone I know is feeling off, without them saying a word. Whenever I watch movies or read stories I'm constantly thinking about the characters and their perspectives, even asking what their own inner dialogue might be telling them, to the point where I can't recognize them as mere stereotypes or movie tropes; they must be thinking, feeling, reacting in their own way to what happens around them and to them, even if they're only a side character or a bit part. How must they feel, how must they have grown up, what have they seen and experienced, what has happened to them in their lives beyond what I see in front of me? It makes watching the simplest of movies difficult, to say the least. I can't enjoy them in the way I used to before I had all these thoughts running through my mind. I miss the days of my youth when I was innocent and didn't constantly think about other people's feelings and the consequences my words or someone else's words might have on that person. It's equally frustrating when so many other people are blind to these things that I pick up on so easily. I feel gifted but I feel alone because even though I see these things that others can't, I'm powerless to do anything or say anything about them. I hate the monotony of small talk, I want to talk about the real issues, about their issues, about my issues, about our goals, to get to the meat of the conversation. Life is so much richer and full of emotion than people let on in their conversations. I don't care about the game last night. I don't care where you went out to drink and how blasted you got. I don't care about any of that shallow stuff because it tells me nothing about who you are, where you come from, where you are going in your life. That's what I want to tell you, not my favorite color or if I watched that new Disney show or how good dinner was (if it was, I will tell you, though). Maybe it's too deep for some people, and maybe that's the problem. People don't want to talk about the deep issues and if they do they just generalize it with some meaningless platitude or, "Yeah, that's rough" and then move on to the next topic. I have all these thoughts very often, and yet nothing I say here hasn't been said or thought of before. But it should still be articulated because sometimes people need to hear these things more than once. I don't know. I'm just rambling at this point. But it's what I feel and it's what I think.

The pet part is so me. I don’t care for small talk either. Also, I thoroughly enjoy time by myself, but also enjoy time with close friends.

As an introvert I often find that the conversation i have with my own mind is more stimulating than conversations with others.

I'm an extrovert, but I highly prefer my introvert bosses over the extrovert ones. Introvert bosses are not fake. Their instructions are short and sweet. They wanna get done as fast as possible so they can get rid of their subordinates as quick as possible to. I love it! Gives me more time to do things that I enjoy doing out side of work. And they don't bother me unnecessarily compare to the other bosses that I had before which are (pester) extroverts 😂

I feel happy about this. I'm an introvert, as i hate small talk, which my friends love, so i'm often just listening to what they say and only speak when i need or have to speak. Everything here is in line with me

I am an introvert and my whole life I have feel like there is something wrong with me, and not worthy to be listened or loved and it damaged my self esteem (my sister and my ex boyfriends are extroverts so I always felt overshadowed) but watching this video and reading the comments is helping me to realize that the way I am is not wrong and I should start to stand up for myself when others are being judgemental, insensitive or condescending 😌🙌🏼

Why do schools keep trying to make people more extroverted even though they most definetly see how introverted you are and that you dont want to be extroverted.

The most wonderful conversations are those of two introverts. Time is respectfully understood and given to the other while their thoughts are organized and a decision of a comment or response is given. The conversation ignores unrelated aspects and the topic is held. It does evolve, of course, just as all conversation do, but time is given for both speakers to share their points before it moves on. Understanding of the way of speak to the other is heald and shown both ways bringing ease and comfort as well to the minds taking part. I hold no disrespect or judgment to other conversation. Between extroverts, or intro & extroverts. But in my personal experience. The conversations I have with other introverts are often more easily understood both ways, with lack of missed topic, points, and conscience in all directions. Be it a friendly description or observation or recall, or even a debate. It is equally and greatly shared and respected. A beautiful conversation.

The unfortunate part about being so observant since childhood is the extremely deep understanding about how other people are. That sounds backwards but ever since i was young, i thought being an introvert was bad but because i knew exactly how others felt and acted constantly, i tried being an extrovert for a long time. It never once worked though. Even though i knew what to do or say in script, but i couldn't physically make myself do it either because it wasnt wise, it was embarassing, or itd change the way i am and perceived. Im in love with my introverted side now though. The thoughts i have in my own imagination are so intriguing and though i feel lonely sometimes, its worth it. The happiness i get from accepting myself outweighs the feeling of being alone and i already know that one day ill find real friends anyway so im okay with being patient for now. I think ill find my people in university.. just 1 and a half more years till then :)

My class mates thought that i was shy or something but never did they know. I'm an introvert and one day a presentation will happen which a teacher gave us a specific topic and when the day of presenting of reports came. I presented my research and when i finished my report the teacher praised me because, i delivered my research very well and talk confidently.

4:04 = yeah, i did involved in a leadership before as a Student Representative Council as a Secretary and an introvert. And there are some people who came at me teeling me their heartfelt story and asking me for their advice and so on and some of them are not even closed to me. So i really love that and appreciate them💯❤

So THIS is how I got so good at problem solving! I subconsciously play all sorts of past, present, and future scenarios in my head, carefully coming up with the simplest outcome that avoids conflict. Even if that event hasn't happened yet or will ever. Perfect for a first job in retail. All of these traits describe me entirely.

For me the best thing about us, introverts is we are a good companion, a loyal friend. I have this extrovert friend who always stick with me. She cried when we parted ways in college. She always said that I'm her favorite person.When she had a problem she goes to me everytime and I'm just listen to her then she felt relieved.

I think that the most important treat of introverts is being vigiland and really seeing things - observant. Unlike more social people, they are close in with their thoughts and often focus on seeing things from a further perspective instead of being close to the event.

This actually explains a lot. It was always an inside joke that i was the family's therapist because people came to me with their problems and i offered a different perspective from the others.

I always knew that i am an introvert and the most disturbing fact about us introverts is that we sometimes feel very left out.

I agree with all this. People think I ask too much questions. All of my questions involve black holes future life goals and the time paradox. I love hearing about other people’s theories and shit. My gf thinks I’m too clingy it’s just I want her attention and love because she’s one of the only people that can give it to me. As for selling products, we’re good at it that’s because we think ahead and double check what we’re about to say if it either closes the deal or stretches the customers thoughts.

As introvert I learned pretty quick if I didn’t want people to bother me in school, bullying or trying to talk to me when I was busy, I knew I had to get the peoples respect. I learned the best way to do that was when someone had a problem have a solution, when someone is talking down to you have a short but witty response (I prefer the ones that of multiple layers of truth in them, it’s so fun watching their faces change as they think about it) when you do speak make sure it’s not a dumb question or make sure what you say matters. lastly stay out of peoples way, many people have hang ups on the stupidest things, take a moment and think “is this really worth fighting for” the answer is mostly no. I quickly became a teacher favorite and considered as a “friend” with most of my class as they all learned when I say something to listen and that I have no issues with them and will not cause issues. One thing I forgot to mention earlier was don’t be a A hole. One of the most important parts

I'm very talkative around my friends but whenever I'm with people I don't know i just kinda melt into the shadows...

Someone asked me "Dont you feel so alone living in your own world?" I replied, "Dont you feel so small living in other people's world" And dang her face expression changed bc she knew it was true.

And what a wonderful mix and variety of the various ways introverts act there are. I love a great concert with a mid-sized crowd all loving the same punk rock as long as I’m with a few friends. I find it very hard to go anywhere alone, which at 50 and single means I don’t go out much. When I had a local pub that I went to frequently I was the quiet, serious guy who wasn’t quickly involved with whatever it was going on, but if you got to know me we were solid. Just not up for the small talk. Which there is none of at home where the beer is much cheaper 😄

Working in a company with a high staff turnover rate is so exhausting. The best setting I ever had was to work in a seperate room/ area as a part of a team, but mostly organizing my work on my own. Today there are additional aspects like clean desk policy, moving from room to room or changing tasks and responsibility all the tine that make me feel drained so there is little energy left.
