Many of those busses won’t run unless they have at least 10 people for travel. I experienced this in Chisinau Moldova recently. I waited for the bus to Vinnytsia but i was the only person there so the bus refused to go. I had to hire a crazy taxi driver to drive me to the border and i crossed there on foot. Also there is now a train from Chisinau direct to Kiev.
Yeah I think the Chisinau to Kyiv train is something that they started running again quite recently, sounds like you had an adventure, did you visit Transnistria?
@@Olga_Reznikova Yes Olga long trip.........and my trip was from San Francisco to Odessa and stayed in Odessa for exactly 51 days ☺. Arrived at Odessa through Moldova's capital and back home to San Francisco through Bucharest.
3:30 The direct night train Vienna to Kyiv takes 24 hours and goes through (and will make you) Hungary. I used to fly directly to L'viv. Of course all flights ended with pukin's war. In 2014 muscovy shot down a Malaysia plane flying over Ukraine and in 2020 of course Iran probably at pukin's order shot down UIA flying back from Iran. I hate that the Ukraine flight crew was forced to fly to/from the land of pukin's Ayatollahs. .
I'd take the flixbus. It leaves right from the airport. No changes required. get a reserved seat for a couple dollars extra. Look at the schedules carefully. Sometimes there is a considerable wait between trips(train or bus). And when riding trains spend the extra money and ride 2nd Class or better. The price difference in dollars is well worth it---and it isn't that much. Get an ODD number seat or you'll be riding in a top bunk, even in 2nd Class. Do NOT go 3rd class because it really sucks--trust me.
@@trevmacc Probably you already did your choice and so my advice could be unuseful, but if you are still considering the better way, take in account that on Flixbus you will not need to go out and to cross border by walk, that is much more comfortable than to go out from train with all baggages, cross the border by walk, then go again inside the other train. Think about...
Great video Olga, very useful and informative :). I have experience with taking Flixbus from Budapest to Kyiv, it was very convenient and comfortable. Many people also travel directly to Ukraine by train from Kosice or any other city in Slovakia.
Your videos are always so helpful! 🙏🏻 I wanted to mention, many of us in the west are used to rental cars, they exist in Ukraine as well. You need an international driving permit (not difficult to get before you leave) and you can use SIXT or even Kayak, pick it up in Lviv. I go to Odesa where my friends are, it allows freedom to make stops at Chernivtsi (very beautiful like Lviv), etc. the car must remain in Ukraine borders, but it’s another possible option.
Dear Olga i am now in ukraine. Ofcourse without any problem i crossed the plua border by car. When we go back to nl we take border hungary and see budapest.
Not: entering the border on July 13th, noone asked me - and not even to any other person in the bus - the COVID assurance i did. Not so bad: just 10€ thrown by the window. lol
There is the Moldova route, the Romania route, the Austria route and the Poland route... Many roads lead to Rome... Well, in this case, Ukraine! ❤️🤗🇺🇦🙌 I want to visit DONBASS once the war is over. 🖤💙♥️
I hopefully of coming to Ukraine in the future. I probably take Poland to Kiev. Thank you for the updates, it looks like it will be easier to get there. Have a great day!
Orest Zub made a video recently how to cross the border from Przemysl to Ukraine. Even I could do it after watching it. However using train is the easiest way. There's going to be a big meeting 10.8. in Lviv. More info on the channel Silicon Curtain.
Olga, i did come to Ukraine on July 13th and my best option was from Krakow - where I arrived with a Ryanait flight - to Lviv with a bus. I used two different companies - Flixbus way in, Autolux way out - and so i can confirm this option from Poland. But, despite the relatively short distance from Krakow to Lviv, the transfers lasted really long coz of the border controls. Better to go in - 'just' 7-8 hours - , really worse to come out - more than 12 hours transfer 😱- and i still do not understand why this remarkable difference: coz of company, coz of different passages - Krakovets and Shehyni respectively - or coz of direction to Ukraine or to EU. Ofc, i can suggest the Flixbus option to our readers, but it is even much more expensive (60€ vs 30€ for back transfer). Thanks for your informations, Olga, and a virtual flower from me too. 🌹
Why did you pay so much? I just now booked my bus ticket on flixbus from Lviv to the Krakow airport on October 1 and it was $29.97 and that included $3.99 for a reserved seat.
@@FloridaPete1948 I think it depends on the ticket sale policy of the company. Probably i was not so lucky getting that ticket, but i paid it 60€. Just truth. 🙂 P.S. I noticed just now that you booked for Oct 1st, that is almost two months in advance and even in a cheaper season, i guess.
I went last year from Vienna to Kyiv in two buses, it was a long trip. I was to Vienna to got the Ukrainian Visa because right now there is not electronic Visa
You can but they will capture and enlist you into the military, give you 2 days training and then force you onto the front lines of the battlefront at gunpoint.
I believe it was you Olga, you said that doctors were not needed. I was in Ukraine a couple months ago and they need a doctors very badly. They are definitely short on surgeons.
it takes many hours because there are huge amount of people going to vacation right now. So the queue is really long. But once summer will finish, it would be fine again.
@@Olga_Reznikova Lviv to Krakow. In May. The Flixbus skipped the traffic queue, was number 3 to cross. Took FOUR HOURS to cross the border. There wasn't any particularly intensive searches. It was just unexplainably slow.
@@Olga_Reznikova Airports can process 200 arriving passengers in 20 minutes. That border couldn’t process 30 passengers in an entire hour. Typical government workers. Lazy, unmotivated, probably overpaid. Couldn’t get a job at McDonalds so work the border instead.
That is not necessarily true. I came across the border on flixbus mid day on July 6th 2023. Total time at the border was about 90 minutes. Bus left Krakow Airport at 8:20AM arriving in Lviv at 5:35PM---right on the scheduled time. The bus stops several times at gas station/minimarts where you can use the toilet, and get snacks. Credit cards accepted.
'Speak Ukrainian' is a good channel to start with. Find her alphabet videos because it's essential to learn cyrillics first. 'Anna from Ukraine' makes word of a day short videos. Learn some basic words every day.
Both last year and this year, the Ukrainian embassy website said you must have "health insurance" issued by a Ukrainian company to enter Ukraine. I bought a minimum policy both last year and this year since it was reasonably cheap. You know anything about that?
Not: entering the border on July 13th, noone asked me - and not even to any other person in the bus - the COVID assurance i did. And not even any other assurance. Just my passport. Not so bad: just 10€ thrown by the window. lol
Hello Olga and world. Slovenia was hit by floods. If enyone can help, help people! Organizations and government does not need help. They like to steal money. Individuals people, familys need help. THANKS!!! GOD bless everyone, who can help. Have a beautiful day in Ukraine and in the world. Bye. Rudi from Slovenija - Europe.
The reason I asked the question is it seemed like your video was for men who were looking for a wife or girlfriend in the Ukraine. I would not risk my life going there for that. I can understand the other reasons you listed for going.@@Olga_Reznikova
@@Olga_Reznikova , you say "for wife, for parents, for relatives, for their own property, to their homes". You are repeating shallow brainwashing propaganda. Reason with me. First, Ukrainian men are prohibited from leaving - so they don't need your video propaganda. Second, foreigners have no property and homes in Ukraine - yet, since Zelensky is selling your country and future to foreign companies and governments. So, the video is not for them either. It's a matter of logic.
Thank you Olga. What is your opinion of foreigners renting a car from Chisinau Moldova and driving into Ukraine? I have a few stops to make starting in Odesa, then traveling to Kryvyi Rig, then to my final stop in Kiev. What are the risks and considerations in your opinion?
I'm sure there are other restrictions (perhaps with the evidence of visiting Belarus). I know UK people who was going to volunteer in Ukraine were not allowed to enter because they went to Russia prior.
I'd only take an airplane to Ukraine after my bad experience dealing with militaries in border control. I still remember very vividly how traumatic it was coming to and leaving from Ukraine.
Olga, there are limitations for visiting Ukraine. Any foreigner with the evidence of visiting Russia (visas in the passport, border crossing stamps, etc) will not be allowed into Ukraine
I'm Jahanzeb from Sindh, Pakistan. I have completed my Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.E.), and I want to move abroad to Ukraine. Can you please guide me regarding the opportunities available for mechanical engineers and how I can move there?
Hello @Olga_Reznikova, do you have any advice on traveling with a dog (larger - 25 kg size) ? I am specifically looking for information on what the rules are on trains, rather than what Ukraine or the EU requires for certificates, vaccinations, etc. I am curious about travel from Poland to Ukraine via train (which trains, which routes). Complete information on how to travel with a dog seems to be difficult to find. Thank you for any information or ideas.
Hey Olga, do you consider it safe to live in Kyiv now? I know you reside in the UK but i am considering returning to the capital but not sure how safe it is now in general.
Hi Olga, I plan to send money to a person I know in Kyiv. Is $400 which I believe translates to roughly 15,000 Greven a good amount of money or is it little for the person to use? Please let me know your thoughts. Thank you
Yeah I was wondering about why she was saying in one of her short videos that a person could go to Ukraine if they wanted to date Ukrainian women when she well knows that American airlines are not flying into Ukraine right now in the State department is advising against traveling there. So it's not practical for her to say that people can just go to Ukraine If they're interested in dating. She makes it sound so easy when it really isn't.
No airlines are flying to Ukraine right now, because it is not safe and the sky is not protected. But if someone want to go to Ukraine, he can go. If someone is afraid to come - let him stay at home, what is the problem with what I am saying?
just curious,...how's the situation inside Ukraine....are major credit cards still accepted.....is it better to bring cash?....which currency is preferred ...dollar, euro or hryvnia? ...how's the internet there ?
About money: it depends, i think, if you have to stay in Kyiv or Lviv or Odessa or if you need to stay all around Ukraine. In my eleven days in Lviv and, mostly, in Kyiv, i changed just 100€ and i used them mostly for tips. My cards were accepted almost everywhere, even in the little kiosks for a coffee or for a cold drink. About situation inside Ukraine: ofc even more than for money, it depends from where you want to stay. I did not feel unsafe at all. I got just three/four air alarms but i can say that normal people did not care so much, and the same for me. Just shops, during air alarm, ask you to pay fast what you are buying and then they close temporarily.
Both this year and last year I brought some cash. NEW $100.00 bills. Most places, especially banks, would not accept US currency unless it was new or in "pristine" condition. Same experience with money exchanges in places like airports etc. I have a Chase Sapphire card and the banks charge a 3% fee for getting cash on that card. The bank I use here in kremenchuk doesn't charge any fee for exchanging cash(US dollars, Euros,or Polish Zlotys) The exchange rate for Ukrainian UAH has be pretty steady at just under 37UAH for $1.00. Using your card works easiest imo. BUT...make sure it's a chip card or has the thingy where you just hold the card over the reader. "Swiping" seems out of favor in many places in my experience. I always have Ukrainian UAH in my wallet for some small purchases and taxis that don't take cards.
A lot of shops closed last year during "Air Alarms", especially the large ones like chain stores" Fozzy" and ATb. This year, in Kremenchuk, virtually nobody is closing during alarms---maybe because Kremenchuk(pop 200,00) is in a relatively calm area--I guess?
If you mean ATMs, yes they work in most places I've been BUT...I would avoid ATMs. Most charge some steep fees and who knows how safe they are. Some do not have English language options if that's important to you. Just go inside almost any bank and use you card for cash inside. 3% for me at IdeaBank for me here in Kremenchuk
I rode on the flixbus from Budapest to Lviv. it was a long ride, but the drive through the Carpathian mountains was beautiful. VERY rugged country with many small villages.
Dear mam ,plz tell me the way for student of kharkive Medical international university ,my daughter want to go back but boarders are closed , we are too much worried regarding our daughter ,s study and future.
Border is only open for big countries. Not for asian countries since january. Border police are not allowing people from asia or africa to enter ukraine on new visas.
My friend in the states lives with a girl from Ukraine western part and man she makes him work like crazy on her home remodel and all . He asked her what she wanted for her birthday she said a Ferrari car so he bought it for her and she never drives it .. just sits in the garage collecting dust .. lol
Thanks Olga, great information, for me fly to Chisinau and train to Odesa, it's pretty quick, including border crossing, and very cheap to 👍🏻 Hope your family are all well, be safe 💜
I was just there and there is no train from Chisinau to Odessa. Did you mean a bus? There is only a train from Chisinau to Kiev when i was there a few months ago.
@@SuperheroArmorychannel as far as I know it still runs, 1 train per day in the morning, Friday Saturday Sunday, this was in march, I assume it still runs! Cost about $8 £6 €7 4hrs traveling, hope it's still running as another trip is planned 🤷

No offense, but going to Ukraine can get you arrested by the FSB if you say something wrong and tossed into prison where you will get beat up and extorted. When I need a Ukrainian product I just order it as that at least works. Be sure and not visit if you are a Ukraine citizen or you might be driving a tank without any training!
Why FSB should be in Ukraine at all ? Even though we assume that for sure they are present in Ukraine, but it is secretly) But why they should have interest in you? And definitely they can not arrest anybody in foreign country.
Ukraine will not allow you to use the street as a toilet. They have a higher degree of sanitation. You will need to learn how to use a toilet and shower.
