You can create an Electrify America account with a Canadian credit card. In the zip code field, use the three numbers from your postal code and add two zeros on the end.

this is usually the trick... but some Canadian credit card will not work with this trick. Here in Québec, Desjardins credit card will not work on the Electrify America app with this trick... but using this postal code format has worked in the pass elsewhere without any issues (like gas pump where you need to enter your zip code).

Having after four years worn out my original summer tyres on my Kona E, I’m buying four Michelin Energy tyres and recording the predicted less wear and increased kilometres per KWh . Great video, nice to see sunshine, green landscape and blue skies rather than white 😅winter weather.

We are from Seattle and are going to Kelowna BC in our Ioniq 5 next weekend. I was able to sign up for Electrify Canada. It required be to pay an amount ahead that was charged to my US credit card. I paid $60 which I figured would cover this trip, but it turned out that it deposited $60 Canadian which probably won’t be enough for our trip to and from with running around in between. It’s strange that EA hasn’t incorporated that into its business model too.

We just drove from Edmonton to Vancouver using Electrify Canada in an Ioniq 5. It cost about $45 CAD, so $60 might be close to your cost. EC charges by the minute, and an Ioniq doesn’t use many minutes.

Also, picking up a month worth of Pass+ for $4 was worth it for our trip. Might be for yours too.

I appreciate the detailed information charts between stops. It must take a lot of effort to record the data and present it so nicely. Big thanks!

I always look forward to seeing your videos, you are the reason I am purchasing a Ioniq 5. Always informative .

Wow CAD$73 for 1,200 km trip? That is cheap man! I would have paid at least CAD150 on my 2012 RAV4 SUV to do that same trip.

Nice road trip... you made it in one day. So you're gonna visit my hometown, eh? Nice... I have been at that Ellensburg EA station that you stopped at... I hope I can do the reverse road trip (Seattle to Calgary someday... maybe once all restrictions are lifted at border)...

15:00 “We’re doing everything we can…”. But you are going over 100km/h. Drive at 90km/h instead of 100km/h and your range will increase about 20%.

I love watching your video. always interesting to see someone actually using a Kona 😉 if you're still using the EVOBD2 module, did you do the update to V.2.20 (free update) to get the new battery capacity measurement? if yes, what's you current KM and what is your battery capacity?

Hi, thanks for your video. I always enjoy watching them 🙂. Especially as I have the same car 😉. Just a quick question: for your consumption calculation from cle elum to tavoma, how do you get 18.2 kWh/100km? You used 41% of battery, meaning 26.25kWh (from your 64kWh battery). 26.25/1.97 = 13.3 kWh/100km. Likewise, you should have 7.5km/kWh. (i didn't check the other sections)

We just used the vehicle's built-in consumption values, perhaps there were thermal loss?

@@READYSTEADYCHARGE In my Kona, I haven't found a trip counter I can reset at will. Apart from the global counter, there's the daily counter that only resets when unused for over 4 hours. Based on your numbers, you should have consumed 56% of battery instead of 41%. Différence feels too great to be thermal loss. I have the feeling the 18.2kWh/100km you mentioned includes the previous sections, especially the uphill ride. Meaning the average consumption of what you drove up to that point.

How do you get your Google maps navigation screen to display the battery state of charge on the right hand side?
@READYSTEADYCHARGE

The right-hand side of the screen is not displaying Android Autom, but rather a split screen showing the vehicle's built-in information display.
