Hope you could find a good HDMI 4K upscaler to review - there seems to be a need for this in the Nintendo Switch community since Nintendo can't be bothered to put out a 4K model soon. I know I ain t tech steve but in my content creator/tgamer opinion I would say Hisense U7G or U8G they both are beautifult quantam dot displays. Colors pop like they break dancing. Plus all the hdmi 2.1 features that is gamers want/need. Check out my vids on it sometime and my pics settings Vid as well
I bought one of these and used it for my PC. It has Interlaced. Interlaced is the old school method to broadcast video. From doing a bit of RU-vid research. All the videos I watched said Interlaced saves bandwidth. PC gaming with 60hz Interlaced feels quicker for me. Even tho it's not but my brain still feels like it's quicker then original 60hz. I like old school Interlaced. It also improved online gaming with parsec application. People ask how did I run the game so perfect with no lag. The less bandwidth myth is true. Interlaced is very underated. It's not 100 percent pure frames but it reduces alot of bandwidth for less lag.
Can you explain more about this interlaced thing? Wdym by it feels quicker than a normal 60hz & online gaming? Do you mean you have a monitor with 60hz and instead of plugging it directly, you use this adapter? Also how does this affect parsec?

I would expect it to only make a difference for content that can be output at 120Hz in combination with a display or capture device that supports 120Hz. Otherwise, it makes no difference.
Unless the game supports 120hz, none of this matters. Both are going to run at 60hz even if you set the Xbox One S to 1080/120hz. I have an Xbox One X and Sony 900H with HDMI 2.1 that supports 120hz. I can put it in 1080/120 as well but not one game on One X is going to run at 120. If a game has a completely unlocked frame rate it might go higher than 60FPS but won’t reach anywhere near 120.

Bruh, go relax on a beach somewhere. You need it. There are a slew of Series X games that run at 120 fps. Also, this is a tech channel. And us techies like to find out all sorts of ways a device can enable/unlock gated tech. It’s why we buzz off emulators, wonder if Steamdeck can stream Series X games and etc. Just enjoy the vid bruh.
@@spazzdineveryway you mistook facts for something else. I’m good. Also, I was trying to help. If your TV doesn’t do 120hz, this adapter won’t have any effect. It’s going to halve the 120hz down to 60hz once it reaches the TV. This is like uncompressing an MP3 and expecting it to sound like an uncompressed, lossless audio file. It makes no sense and is a gimmick to take your money.
You are correct. The source content has to support running at a framerate higher than 60fps, and the display or capture device has to support 120Hz. Since the Xbox can detect when it's connected to a 120Hz display, I'd assume this is useful when it's unable to detect that the display or capture device supports 120Hz when it in fact does. The use case for this is very limited if it even exists.

Hey tech Steve hope your well. So I narrowed down my choices of TV's and I love the u8g and the r646 which tv is better for gaming sports etc. Thanks dude by the way that switch 4k 120hz is sick me and my friends were playing with it awesome stuff
TCL wouldn’t fix the R646 with a bad pixel, I used it only a few times and they told me that it was acceptable to have a dead pixel. I filmed those tutorial videos and sold it. I payed $700 plus tax and I lost $400 selling it. Unless they send me free TVs I’ll never buy another one. I haven’t tested a u8g to have any option

I have a question about these EDID emulators: "If I have a certain Retro Video Game Console Upscaler (that is DIY'd or prebuilt) like a GBS Control device, or an expensive quality one like a RetroTINK 5X and it produces a bad overscan or underscan forcing a 4:3 aspect ratio instead of allowing 16:9 for consoles native to 16:9, and if I would have to fix the screen by adjusting the picture overscan on my TV, would an EDID emulator also copy the overscanned picture to use for other sources, or no?"
Hi, i have a Lenovo 24" 100hz 1440p monitor on xbox which stucks at 60hz but works at 100hz when connected on pc. Could someone tell what will happen if i use one of these adapters? Could i play 100hz on 1440p? Maybe via using the variable refresh rate on xbox options? Thanks.
What are you trying to prove here? All I can tell is you plugged it in and you lost some settings on your Xbox. If your TV doesn’t support 120 Hz, of course it’s not going to suddenly make it display at 120 Hz.
I really want to know if this works for the sony 900f tv. The panel is 120hz and allows 120hz on pc using a forced resolution but since its not in the tv’s edid it only does 4k60. I really wanna do 1080p/120 on my ps5 :(
That TV only has HDMI 60Hz inputs, It will make the videos look smoother if it triggers 120Hz but I haven't tested for that. it's cheap maybe worth trying. Up to you
@@TechSteve i do hope you keep the Xbox One S for as long as possible to experiment dolby vision and HDR gaming to see how it holds up for future videos. I would appreciate it.
Forza horizon 4, gears 5, Ori and so on. I think the One S only do gaming in HDR, i'm not sure about dolby vision because i"ve never seen anyone tested it, but, dolby vision should work for movies and shows. I'm not even sure if sure if 4k videos work on the youtube app either.
@@TechSteve that’s why I’m asking but I’ve been told that the Average is 1800p unlike the Xbox Series X which can get to true 4K and some people say there are games that can run on 4K but I still don’t believe it 🗿
@@baqer-alkenany9787 PS5 has tons of native 4K games. Sounds to me like you’re getting your information from insecure Xbox fanboys that are upset about PS5 outselling Xbox Series X by over 2 to 1.
No need for that adapter... just change the resolution in the console.. just change the settings from Auto detect to HDMI opcion and voala...it will see if ur tv supports any 120 settings.. 1080p or 1440p.. so simple 🤔😒 this is a waist of money..
This adapter allows the compatible settings not just overriding the system. I would think with your method some TVs would flicker, same thing happens when you force video settings on a computer. Read up on EDID which this has
Comments are correct that this serves no purpose unless the Xbox is miss identifying your 120hz tv as only being 60hz. If that is not the case you will see no improvement from using this device.
@@TechSteve I don't care so much but the video is misleading and it's important to give people the full picture so they don't have false expectations. The comments communicate people are confused that aren't tech savvy
