Local Police (North Little Rock) were in active pursuit when they passed Trooper Shumate and Trooper Byrd who were attending to a tractor-trailer. Both Troopers heard the request for assistance as they caught up to the pursuit.
@@PoorChoiceOfWords1224If you're implying Byrd got fired, no he didn't. He's still employed with the asp, and he still has videos with his most recent one being on 9/3/23.
"I'm sure hitting that median barrier at 120+ broke something, boy. Doesn't mean we ain't yanking your ass outta that car and manhandling you for being stupid and making us catch you. Settle down, the ambulance is on its way."
I think he'd be squealing a lot harder that that if they really were broken, sprained or fractured wrists due to gripping the wheel when the impact happened maybe... You see these guys singing falsetto level operas just getting handcuffs put on normally, a real injury and they'd probably feint.
F the driver. He made his bed. Some perps need to hear "FU" a lot during an arrest. Because they lie about their injuries. It' become a con, a way to get coddled.
Some departments, especially the smaller ones, are still self insured. PITs are a huge calculated risk, these troopers are pros at it and even then sometimes things go wrong. It’s not that the smaller departments won’t, but the risk to public safety high before they will.
Most smaller departments cannot afford to repair the cars with their budgets. ASP has a much larger budget which is why they are the ones who utilize the PIT when other departments are involved.
@@immortaltyger1569Act 734, passed in 2023, allows those running from law enforcement to be charged with a Class D Felony if they exceed the speed limit while on that chase. That felony carries a penalty of up to six years in prison. It used to be a misdemeanor with a max of two days in jail.
A great ad for Honda, freeway pitted at 126, bounces across freeway like a ping pong ball, doped up operator is out of it but the Honda wants to keep going!
goodearth7 1 second ago I was wondering if it was him. If so, it has been too long without him. But I understand they want to communicate that there is more than one Trooper in Arkansas!
Think about what happens to the steeringwheel if you hit the wall at a slight angle. The position of the front wheels changes and as a result the steering wheel also moves, not as slowly and comfortably as some people need to park, but half a turn from one second to the next. If you have the steering wheel firmly in your hand, then at first everything turns... except for your bones, they don't feel like it.
@@Z0RDR4CK They probably braced by shoving their arms straight into the wheel before they hit the wall... But then, BLM are not known for intelligence...
As many of these videos that I have watched, it is amazing to me that there are so many people that try to outrun the ASP. The ASP is not a police agency that I would want to Pi$$ off and try to run from. Then when they're caught, they try and act the victim. I guess, technically, they are the victim, of their own stupidity.
Even the the faster cars are being caught...in the last year ASP have gotten so many more squad cars governed to 150 and I saw 1 Arkansas chase with a drug task force undercover car that went into 160s
Man, I don't know! I don't want the felony charge but, to be chased by and pulled over by the ASP would be a serious bucket list item! Gotta love them for gittin'er done!
It's on every level. Today Boebert did the same; behaving extremely inappropriate with a man among other people in a theater and then blames her divorce. There was a time people would take responsibility for their actions. Maybe I'm just too old.
This pit reinforces something Ive been thinking all along- no need to do complex side hit/spin maneuver at speed , just a tap from the rear and round they go...
So far the record for highest speed PIT belongs to Trooper Williams on a Honda Civic, 130 (gps reader ) Trooper Ellis has record for longest hang time and height. PIT on a truck about 100 or so, it flipped over, afterwards in momentum, both struck drainage pipe embankment and launched into air. Ellis had minor injuries, perp died.
@@mattfoley6082 Hmm good question, I know video from last week, dude got knocked off his bike, GPS read at 32 so think that one. I’ll have to double check
While he was catching up, Trooper Shumate got quite the run going here, at one point hitting 146mph. At that point you're just one slide or tire blowout away from taking flight followed by a nasty tumble.
Classic, Suspect: "AAHH!!! My arms are broken". Trooper Shumate: "Click Click Click and here's one for good measure CLICK". If the suspects arms aren't broken, they are broken now. Remarkably the suspect was able to steer the car and miss the concrete pillars. Great Job to both ASP and Little Rock Police.
Driving past both Troopers Shumate and Byrd (on their home field no less) while driving a Honda sedan. That's playing on hard mode, there is no way you can ever win.
No messing, just drive up behind subject vehicle at 126 mph, give it a little tap and a persuasive push, bang, half spin, vehicle wrecked and job done 👍🏻
Sweet! That was not a pit move! That was a Mike Tyson 30 second TKO!!!! I bet the Brydman was grinning from ear to ear thinking, Oh, so that’s what it looks like!😂
Since when does vehicle violations make a driver Criminal and okay to use deadly force?. So maybe the next time you're speeding and a cop blows you away for not wearing your seatbelt, then that will be okay then, since you're a criminal. LOL
Memo to Would-be Perps: "Running Blacked-Out" is mostly-useless. Your license plates are highly-reflective, and your vehicle is either equipped with dedicated reflectors and/or reflectors integrated into the lamp assemblies. Headlights and strobe lights WILL find you, quite easily. In fact, you blend in more with traffic if your headlights are ON and tail lamps illuminated. I don't condone you running, but if you're going to be stupid, try being a little less stupid. 2:41 - You know you've been watching too many ASP videos when you start to recognize landmarks. 🤣 "Both of my arms are bro-ken." Yup. That can happen when you have a tight grip on the steering wheel and drive into a concrete divider at 120+ mph. Had you not been driving at those speeds, the severity of injury upon impact would be significantly lowered. Had you not engaged in pursuit, officers would have no reason whatsoever to introduce you to the pursuit-ending law enforcement procedure known as Tactical Vehicle Intervention. Sorry (not sorry) but I have very little sympathy for those who choose to escalate matters and then complain about the consequences. As the new saying goes, you f--ked around and found out. If that lesson is a bit painful, well, maybe you learned something today. And, for your personal benefit, I hope you did.
Despite being blacked out the hazards came on after the TVI. I wonder if that's an automatic feature on Hondas, because I don't see this kid having any thoughts of turning them on intentionally.
Any injuries incured while committing a felony should be or the perp. Also damages to police cars should be charged to perp. and paid before they are released.
So great to see Trooper Byrd again it’s been a while. Awesome pit Trooper Shumate!! You need to clean your windshield the whole thing was fuzzy blurry!! Great job though. Y’all stay safe out there God Bless our Troopers🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸👍👍👍
That was masterfully executed. I have seen so many beautiful vehicles totally destroyed by their owners. You know as well as I do, you don't go to Arkansas to hone you evasive skills because they just won't be good enough.
Gotta love ASP! All over in under 6 minutes. If it was California, it would be 3 1/2 hours, 50+ cars and a chopper or 2...and they’d drop the case or receive a minimal sentence. If they didn’t just give up the chase after 3 1/2 hours, that is.
These videos are a testament to car design. In the 50s, most people would not have survived a PIT maneuver. Now, most walk away from flios and rollovers.
well done officers....nice...and on another note.....: the perps arms might have been "broken"....but his big gob wasn't......time to reflect in a bit of jail time......"Bro".....
Splendid maneuver. I would strongly suggest a change in the manufacture of vehicles : If you're speeding from a police pursuit, the airbags of your vehicle should be disabled. That should cut down on the number of runners endangering civilized human beings. If not by deterrence, certainly by attrition. Good result either way.
One thing I noticed from watching this channel is that the Tahoe in particular along with the other SUV patrol cars are inadequate when it comes to high speed pursuits. Not having a sedan based interceptor is going to be a big problem once the Chargers are no longer available.
At the rate ASP is pitting them the market looks good for Dodge to continue making them. I noticed in another video that Florida is using Kias, unmarked, as part of the fleet. Possibly these are seized vehicles used for undercover?
The State I reside in has a 35 mph limit on using the PIT maneuver along with a do not pursue policy if in residential areas. That said, we don't have many "chases" here since we don;t have the police force either.
