I had a MacBook given to me and as they dropped it the ribbon cable you noted caused the picture to go in and out. I see there on the machine that the cable actually became de-routed from the cable channel. I placed back in the small channel and now have zero issues with the machine. Tremendous and thank you!

You saved my mac!! I have a mid 2012 Macbook Pro retina, It was dropped on its side from a short distance and the display would only light up but not display anything. I tried ALL other options before getting the tools needed to open it up, and nothing worked. Finally got an inexpensive kit on amazon for $8, opened up the back, disconnected the battery, held the power button down for 10sec, then disconnected the display cable and reconnected it firmly, reconnected the battery, hit the power button and it worked. I put the back plate on with the screws in the right place. remembering the back 2 are shorter than the others, and now I have my macbook pro back! Thanks again for putting this together. I have limited experience with Macs internally so this was a huge help. Thanks again!! Upvoted and saved (you never know)

The best tutorial video I've seen, thank you very much, although it didn't fix my black screen, I hear the chime, see apple logo light up on back of computer screen (not on viewing side of lcd), caps lock keyboard lights work, I can view my desktop on an external moniter via hdmi, so next step will probably be to check out the other video of the removal of the screen to check cable connection under there. Computer was working fine, no drops or damage just opened up after using, (closed screen to get up and do something and then when I reopened it minutes later, black screen all of a sudden), actually Apple support said that although my 2014 model is compatible with Catalina that the new upgrade may have been too much for my "vintage 2014" computer to handle and could have burnt something out even though I had been running Catalina for 3 months with no issues, I have not seen any damage so I'll give that other video a shot. You're videos are by far the best and most in depth and knowledgeable than anything I've seen, thank you, even if I don't fix it, I'm learning a lot. Hats off to you sir for making these! Already subbed, liked and forwarded to friends, tyvm.

Hi Binh. Thank you for the video. I'm having a black screen (with backlight) on my 13 2014 Retina after replacing the logic board. I have already re-seated the LVDS in both ends. Inside the LCD that small "square" connector, apparently, was disconnected and I fixed it. Any idea what I could try next? Thank you.

I followed your video on how to replace the charge port and I swapped it no problem but when I went to turn the computer back on I have no display at all. I went and checked the connection like you did in this video and I still have no display. It is annoying as I was able to fix my first problem but another one came out of it. Everything else seems to be working though. Any suggestions? Is there another cable that I am missing or something? Great video anyway, thanks.

Thanks for the video! I had the issue of black screen sometimes when I touched the screen. Changes the display cable two times after still having the problem (only much smaller) after the first display cable change. Now I still have the problem with my third display cable and I am really starting to get desperate. Any Ideas or experiences with this? Display works but then randomly shots of after I touch the macbook and goes on after tilting the screen. Sometimes I have to restart the macbook for the screen to work again. Thank you very much!!
