Love that! Yes mine is the same. He and I are both crafts people and my he helps me construct tools to suit the process. X 😀 So nice to have their support XX
I really liked the wall paper prints ......thanks for the encouragement to think about using what we can find around us with out spending a fortune on materials 💜🖌🎨
I have a load more mark making tool ideas so there will be another demonstration video in the near future, many thanks for watching. All the best Louise.
When stamping if you put something slightly squishy under your substrate like a silicone mat or fun foam you may find you get the marks you are looking for but needing to use less paint. Great ideas.
Thanks for all the great information. This video was super helpful as I’d gotten a bit stuck for new mark making tools. So simple and yet so effective the notched card stock used as a paint brush. I’m doing that right now! 😊
Hi Amy, it is the next step that is so important, how these possibilities present themselves in future work, I am looking forward to it. Good luck with all your endeavours as well. All the best, Louise
I genuinely enjoy how you push limits with potential tools and techniques, and further how you share your experience of putting them through their paces! I loved all of the results, of course some more than others based on my preferences. I can see how well this sort of experimentation aligns with an attitude of curiosity, asking “what if?”, as we challenge ourselves as artists. As always, thank you for sharing!
Thanks for your enthusiasm again DC, much appreciated and so glad it is inspiring. The products available to us now, the glues and the availability of cheap and even recyclable things are giving everyone the opportunity to explore and experiment. All very good fun X
I do similar things to this, I collected some wine corks then sliced them up and stuck them to card they make good irregular marks within the circles, I think as artists we have to use what we have! Also if you use something softer beneath your paper when trying out your tools like a foam pad or gel plate it will help with the impressions of the tools :)
Louise Thankyou for responding ! My family is from England but l live in sunny Eilat Israel and you are invited to sea , desert and mountains here! Thankyou for enriching my life ❤
Louise of course you are just inspiring! You never give up and your experiments push boundaries you give your soul and mind and all l can say is Thankyou and god bless❤
Such lovely comments, thank you for taking the time to let me know that the channel is inspiring you and letting me know that I am on the right track. keep well, and all the very best, Louise X😀
Love these... you might consider placing a spongy surface under paper... i use spongy kitchen floor mats for industrial kitchens. You can buy at restaurant supply shops... they sell by the yard.
Very inspiring! I have loads of bits and pieces that I've saved over my whole life and the lives of my family. I'm working on what I'm calling my "Family Archive Project"...I want to experience and share some of the energy of those who have come before me by combining photographs, letters, newspaper clippings, fabric and other wearables via collaging and printing techniques...using both natural media and digital printing. I love the essence of the prints you made in the video! You bring out such energy in something as simple as a card wrapped with twine!
Thanks so much for the note. I'll make sure to post when I get things going. I'm getting past the organization stage, with a lot of ideas, starting to scan photos and objects. I've been accumulating hands-on supplies too, like Gelli plates, paints, inks, brushes and gel media. I'll be watching your other videos too. Thanks so much for the inspiration!
Just found this video Louise, very interesting and yes, I am going to try the different surfaces and grounds and mediums. It’s all a big adventure (not sure I can remember everything tho 😂). Thank you! 😊
Will do @@LouiseJannetta . Btw did you get my email? I’ve had some success with the Momigami and will send you some pics of the pieces I made, so enjoyable 😀👍🏼
It may have gone to my website I'll take a look. There is a Facebook page, I think it's Louise Jannetta creates. We share creativity there, support and give feedback. That is a nice forum to participate in 😊😊
My first time seeing your post Louise. Love your mark making tools! The wallpaper prints were gorgeous! Loved the buttons too and the mesh. Beautiful prints from simple everyday items ❤ look forward to watching more of your posts
I've made Paste Prints for many years and I love to make my own mark-making devices. Try putting string or tape twisted on a brayer and run it through a layer of paint or ink. Press two pieces of paper together that have some of the marks on them. Exciting!
Great fun, wonderful enthusiasm. The one you did first with the swirling string looked like leaves that were being blown up by the wind. Very effective. Thank you. X.
Yep I do a lot of printing especially calligraphy and I think my markmaking reflects this thought process. I am really looking forward to experimenting with gelli plate marks; I just want a big gelli plate. Good luck with all your printing and thanks for watching X
Brilliant! I’m definitely trying some netting on a tube, your button stamp - and some other tools - on a gel plate, a monoprint technique that doesn’t need a press. I had great fun watching you.
My printmaking professor told me several times that I was a natural printmaker. You are too. Love what you’re doing and eager to see what you do to all these marked papers. I just ordered some mulberry papers from Amazon in USA. I 😅live in California. Wish we were friends.
Hi and thanks. I love printmaking. I hope you can join in our Facebook group see Louise Jannetta create art group on Facebook and request to join. We can all share our creations and process. Hope you can join x
Hi Louise, Just found your channel and it looks so interesting. Can't wait to watch more of your techniques. Love the brush, and wondering what the string is from. Also, can you explain again about sealing the stamps. Thanks so much for sharing your techniques!
Sorry, it has taken a while to reply. The blue string or rope was just nylon rope; the finer stuff was nylon fishing twine but probably for sea fishing as it was thick and robust. My partner fished, and he was chucking it. I seal the stamps with diluted PVA, which is non-soluble once dry. It is reasonably safe to use PVA glues that are used in woodwork, but best to read the properties or usage of the product.😀Hope this all helps X
Hi, thanks for watching. The tools are sealed with clear acrylic or PVA and are a little water-resistant, so I can just gently wash them. They have lasted quite well and are still usable, although I mainly use them just for demos. X😀
Hi Karen, no, I use watered-down acrylics, which I sometimes add acrylic medium to bind the pigment. However, if diluted acrylic is used on an absorbent surface, like paper, the pigment is absorbed, and the binding medium isn't necessary X. Many thanks for watching X😀
I absolutely love your approach & attitude & talent! I went to your website 2 days ago about serviettes, & then tried to email you w/o success. I've tried twice. Suggestions?
