Chapter 20 | The House Mars

Just as I was getting back into my fortnightly upload schedule, I managed to knock water all over my laptop keyboard. Fortunately, my hard drive was spared and the repair specialist was brilliant. Now I'm up and running again (working with my water bottle banished to the other end of the table).
On a side note: I’m finally starting to like my brass samples, which is perfect timing for all the brass heavy battle scenes coming up soon.
Do I actually need to state that I don’t own Red Rising on every video? Should probably look that up at some point.

Thank you so much, Thalia! Yeah, Roque was so lovely in this chapter. He just had to be represented by warm fuzzy brass.

On the battlefield young soldiers are expected to make their first kill eventually. But they are able to come back to men who know what its like and with the emotional brotherhood established from boot camp are able to have some kind of cushion. But here there is none of that. You kill or be killed and there is only treachery and deceit. Institute is about forming Golds into superhuman, psychopathic individuals for the Society but not units with foundational camaraderie.

Spoiler alert: but I think you've really hit the nail on the head there of why Darrow's community-oriented mindset gained so much traction among the Golds in the Institute and beyond. Definitely one of the reasons why their Society collapsed.

Where Daydreamers Go By the way obviously you have read all of the Red Rising books up to Iron Gold right? Just have to be sure.

@@muthias4582 Yeah, I've read all four books. Haven't managed to read the Sons of Ares comics yet though.
