Hi my name is Elaine. And I am 75 and my hair is turning darker and not grey like my friends at my same age. My memory has come back and I have more energy
A friend of mine who is 87 and in pain with every move she makes; I so wished she would try eating carnivore, and see her pain dissipate. All I can do is suggest little changes, and let her see how carnivore works for me.
The carnivore way of eating (Proper Human Diet) has healed my eczema, IBS, skin tags, plus lost 60 pounds. I’m 64. Wish I would have done this in my 30’s.
Being healthy is not a competition; you don't have to have a headstart or worry about when you implement something healthpromoting because we all die in the end.
Its amazing how people don't understand the zealotry behind the phrase "proper human diet". there is no one diet that is best for every single human. Its highly individualistic.
I'm 74. Started out on Atkins 6 yrs ago. Some success but started carnivore 5 yrs ago.CHANGED MY LIFE !!! On no meds, lost 45 lbs. Best I've ever felt. Now in a size 4.. pretty much been a size 14- 16 since high school (;A. LONG TIME AGO !!!! ) I walk 2 miles a day. Feel like I'm in my 40,s. I'll never eat any other way.! Just wish I would have known about this way of eating YEARS ago !!! No aches no pains !!! TRY IT PEOPLE, YOU WON'T BE DISSAPPOINTED !!!!!!
@@claudiaoliveira-usa Stomach issues is common as your body adjusts to not having fiber. The bathroom situation is fixed by itself usually. Some people take supplements but they’re not requirements.
I've done ketovore over a year before and straight carnivore up to 6 days lately, but keep running out of ideas what to eat. Roasts get old, steaks are always tough and tasteless from grocery stores. Porksteak good a time or two. Just can't get into the carnivore options. Poached eggs good. Sausage, chicken, tuna gets old and can't stand salmon. What do you eat? Need ideas. I'm 70.
This lovely woman is SO good! I went 'cold turkey' on boxing day of 2021. I 'Woke up' after a back injury of 10years realizing I was 246lbs - I don't technically carry the weight in the front belly - i just get thick and the chub disperses. So it isn't quite as obvious that I was this heavy - my arthritis doctor and asthma doctor were the ones that kind of confronted me by saying...weeeellllll, maybe lose 40lbs+ and see how your health is. My whole life (pre injury), I walked around with natural six pack abs - and here they're now telling ME, ME!, to lose 40 lbs?? whaaaaat??!!! So it was a shocker to the system...that was mid December. I decided to go back to Marks Daily Apple - Primal Blueprint - to re-learn this way of eating...then it snowballed on me and I went down the carnivore rabbit hole. I made a plan that on boxing day - no sugar, no grains, no oils. Meat, fish, eggs, salt, and some dairy. I get questioned constantly by family members and friends - drives me F'n crazy - ..oh your damaging your kidneys, you're gunna get gout, you're gunna get scurvy, you're not getting nutrients so you still need veggies etc etc. I have come to realize, they all just want to sabotage the results - it's jealousy really...cuz they are all out of shape blobs with health issues...and all MY issues, are fading away. I have lost over 50lbs since boxing day, my arthritis is near zero now, my blood work numbers are perfection, my back issues are tolerable ALMOST to a point of being able to exercise soon. I now sit around 191lbs - with 185 being my goal weight - at 51 years old, I don't expect to walk around with abs - especially cuz I can't exercise. BUT, can you imagine a 51yr old dude, with his shirt off...and NOT having people side-eye'in ya wanting to throw up?! ..that would be pretty awesome. If anyone is considering this way of eating and scared to attempt it - don't be. I eat bacon and eggs with butter and salt regularly, i pre-make extra meat at dinner the night before and eat it the next day around 10:30am, then dinner by 6pm. I eat twice a day in an 8hour window - no snacks before or after..if ya eat enough fats during your window, you wont WANT snacks. I am not 'carnivore' - I am 'animal based' with some tweaks. I eat all red meat and organs (love chicken hearts cut up in bone broth soup), I eat farm free run eggs (in ANY form - scrambled, boiled, fried in butter), I eat some chicken - dark meat WITH the skin...and bacon, pork generally isn't my thing, but i do eat a bit of it. I drink 2 coffees a day - heavy cream with a half tsp of organic honey...luckily I have never had a sweet tooth - but for dessert, i will have an apple or pear or half a cup of greek yogurt - extra creamy. So you get the idea here - fats from meat, fats from eggs, fats from butter and fats from heavy dairy. ......I am LOSING fat while eating fat. Crazy, right?! I love this channel and this woman. She isn't like a few of the others who are turning it into a money making supplement scheme. She is honest and caring and doing this for all the right reasons.
Great progress but you definitely want to start moving again, find a good trainer and he will help you choose the exercises that will exercise the rest of your body but somewhat spare your back and as you get stronger he (or perhaps she) will incorporate more back exercises until you are as fully healed as possible with the six pack at 51 years young. With back injuries it is key to strengthen your core muscles so that your trunk moves in a controlled fashion always ie without ever making unintended accidental move into a pose that aggravates your pain. I'm 63 with six pack, it is doable
@@bd_bsl5707 Thanks for that! Appreciate the input(the back injury is a fused back - surgery in the 90's) but all great info regardless -- UPDATE: That orig message was over a year ago -- time goes by quick. Not much has changed in the way I eat - meat/eggs/salt/butter...the odd time I will have cheese..so that drops me out of the 'carnivore' moniker..so animal based/relaxed carnivore - I dunno..I don't care. haha Today, I average 169-171lbs..quite a bit below that original 'goal weight'. During some of the 'plateau' moments, I did OMAD..which seemed to kick-start things again - then I could go back to 2 meals a day etc - but I found as long as I tried to average 6K steps a day..the weight would slowly com off- I don't have much left to lose - MAYBE 10lbs ...but I think it gets risky of losing more muscle mass and strength...so sitting around 175lbs would be ideal...with less BF. I am starting a 3 day a week weight training soon - I have enough knowledge to kind of get me close to trouble, yet stay OUT of trouble ..lol ..I hope. Take care - All the best in 2024
Truely, I don't even care if some others are turning it into a money making supplement scheme! I think the more this Gets out to the public, by whatever way, the better for the whole world!!!
@Ali Well I teach first grade, so my energy has to be high. I’d say it’s higher than when I was keto, and much higher than when I was binging on junk. My sleep is better eating this way. I’m sure that makes a difference.
I’m a big guy, 6’4 & 250. In 1 week the 2 things that have become very obvious.. my knees now work without pain & im simply not bloated !! This is quite amazing
Been ketoing (mostly ground beef and butter) for 8 years. Also been strength training consistently for about 11 years. This all made me feel healthier and stronger than ever, both physically and mentally. I'm now 55 y/o. The last two years or so after stumbling upon Dr Shawn Baker and his carnivore diet on Rogan I decided to experiment a little more and gradually increased my meat consumption while lowering the little remaining carbs I was consuming. Still felt awesome. Now, a couple weeks ago I decided to wean off the last few remaining plant/carbs (coffee, yogurt, bread) from my diet and experiment with a pure carnivore diet. Found out I was much more addicted to yogurt than I thought. I'm now down to 1 or two cups of coffee a day, from 4 or 5 prior. Cut off the rest. Still feeling awesome, if not better. So, my diet at this point is mostly ground beef, butter, water and salt, sprinkled with beef tallow, eggs, pemmican, steaks, cheese, and a still a little coffee. Oh by the way, this lady looks and sounds great.
The problem with adding fruit and spinach is you don’t have a problem until you do. You can go for years and eat this way but it adds up and then the next thing you know you’re having inflammation or oxalate problems.
I'm on day 66 of full carnivore from the SAD and first 21 days were rough, but getting better every day since and continues to improve. Down close to 40lb and no desire to cheat. Goal weight is almost a given at this point. Meat is frickin GREAT and there are a million options! Being fat is way more limiting than eating carnivore.
Thank you for having Dr Lisa on. Very encouraging! I'm back on carnivore and feeling great. I'm an all or nothing re sugar. Eating meat, I love hamburger, no cravings for sweets!! Helping my depression and anxiety as well as weight. Thank you Dr Lisa!!🙏❤🥩
How is Dr Lisa different from all the other carnivore experts? Food addiction recovery. Nobody else talks about this like she does. She’s spot on no sugar coating . This was a great interview. Thanks Mark and guys.
I’ve been Carnivore since December 2019 and I have followed Dr Lisa since early 2021. Lisa is the real deal and has helped so many of us with cravings and carb addiction! I’ll be 60 this year and no longer on any medications! I was on 2 blood pressure meds, has terrible joint pain, inflammation issues with my hands and considering surgery. Love the ease of living this way!
@@jjjackiejam thamk-you, that’s kind of you Jackie! I was excited to watch this video this morning, it’s nice to see long-term Carnivores spreading the word. Kelly Hogan needs to be on this podcast as well as Joe Rogan‘s!
This Lady is dead on ! I can tell she has lived this rather than just “tried it”. I don’t think anyone who has listened and learned about a proper human diet , and learned about the sugar ,seed oils ,grains, and processed food, should be “trying “ to eat well. Just do it ! Lol I mean my family thinks my eating style is outrageous or complicated but it’s the opposite. My shopping is much more simple. Cooking and meal planning is easier. And I simply don’t eat bad things thats really all it boils down to. Imo more people just need to step up and do what’s right for their health. Show some discipline like a mature adult and eat well so you can feel better 👍🏻
I am convinced veggies are not good for me. I eat mainly carnivore, but I ate some green beans a few weeks ago and felt like crap for three days, then a couple days ago I ate some broccoli and here I am again feeling like crap. I have learned my lesson well.
Kia I love that part about being bored with the carnivore. I made a bacon wrapped beef hotdog with hamburger on the outside. I did it in my air fryer and it turned out fantastic. You’ve got to reinvent things to keep it exciting
Love hearing how that I'm not the only one who deals with people thinking I'm being weird by trying to better myself with a healthy diet. The more and more I see people that are seriously UNHEALTHY AND UNHAPPY try to tell me I'm doing the wrong thing, it shows me I'm on the right path now 😂
2+ yrs carnivore life changing 58yr old 5'11" 175 lbs never thought I would be back to my weight of my 20s nad 30s :) biggest thing no more joint pain no more mental fog no more deperssion ever etc..
Re: what about that first date.... So, I’m betting that buying her a ribeye, just a ribeye, is cheaper than appetizers + meal + wine and cocktails that she doesn’t eat. 👍. Great interview. Just subscribed.
It's like freedom from "sin" the magnetic 🧲 pull of things that are not good for us. "Sin" just means missing the mark; it's an old archery term. The sin of the arrow speaks of the arrow missing the bulls eye. It feels so good to hit the bulls eye. God bless you on your journey.
I did carnivore the whole month of April. I haven’t felt this good in a long time. I still have pain in my left hip that is certainly unavoidable. But I have a few issues that have cleared up. I am fairly healthy and I have lost weight. This is sustainable for me I can do this. Not a lot of people know that I’m doing this and I think about as many people will be supportive as they were when I was vegetarian several years ago. And by the way that did not work out
Sounds like you weren’t eating right when you were younger. Your testosterone production at 72 is not at its peak. I am happy that your life is improving.
Nothing wrong with honey. Paul Saladin is not a carnivore dude anymore. But Shawn baker is and I’m sure he eats honey sometimes. You don’t need these sweet foods everyday.
My son used to think grapes were lollies until he was about 4😆 also when I was having him I used to crave mandarins madly and eat a whole bag. I would not stop till there were none left!! I am a carb addict for sure. Been Carnivore for 16 weeks....down 2 dress sizes and feeling the best I have in years....perhaps ever. I have never felt so strong and have stamina!! I never had stamina for anything😆 Now I don't even puff and the more I do the more I WANT to do!! As long I get enough beef and fat into me I'm like a steam train lol. I love it. Turning 50 soon and hope to be in the best shape of my life. Such a blessing I have found this way of eating. Wish I had known about it years ago.
I made it 5 months on carnivore. I cant believe I got off. Caught vovid and the idea of standing and cooking outweighed the carbs. And thanksgiving was right at the same time. I went from 220 size 40. Overweight To 180 size 35 feeling great with low inflamation. Been trying to get back on track ever since. Just little hiccups like a kind bar or a snack size Doritos. My cholesterol and blood pressure was perfect at month 3. I was mind blown about what they tell us about health.
I have been on meat based diet for almost 9 yrs now and I feel just great at 50 years old. Off of RA meds the same number of years I have been on this diet. I don’t call it diet anymore. It is just a way of my life now. I put my husband on my diet that same year and he got off of prednisone 4 years ago.
I can relate sooooo strongly to the "food addiction" aspect of this. I went carnivore two months ago. I am a massive sugar / chocolate / junk food junkie. I am unable to moderate if I allow myself to eat even one. For these first couple of months, it KILLS me walking past all the snacks and candies and cookies and pizzas, etc. BUT, I do feel "empowered" every time I do muster the willpower to keep carnivore. I am down 22 lbs, feel healthier than I have in a long time, and am noticing various health issues clearing up over time. This encourages me to keep going in spite of the skeptics. Bloodwork scheduled at the 90-day mark. Fingers crossed that the results will be as good as some of the other testimonials I have heard.
As a Registered Dietician, I have referred clients to try this way of eating. I love this for those who are able to do it and follow through. it can really change lives. I struggle getting clients to get out of their own heads when it comes to vegetables and certain fruits. I do have the view that micronutrients in berries are important/ valuable, but not "needed". It depends on, as Dr. Lisa says, what we have seen... how we have seen people turn their lives around. Unfortunately, there are many clients that tell me "oh.. I need my potatoes" or "I need my toast in the morning!". I tell them they actually don't "need" these items, and their reaction to my statement, honestly, tells me if they are going to succeed or fail at bettering themselves / curing their disease. I wish I could snap my fingers and undo the brainwashing. I really do.
After two gastric surgeries for weight loss, I can tell you that isn’t a cure. It doesn’t stop the addiction. You are totally right. It has everything to do with the desire and wanting to eat better. Just going to strict keto helped me. I’ve now transitioned to carnivore. I’ve totally survived not having ice cream birthday cake that everyone was ga ga for. 😂 Saying this, no one is going to succeed unless they’re mentally ready.
Meats do have phytonutrients/micronutrients because the cows eat the grass. The grass has phytonutrients in it that goes into the cow. Beef has everything we need.
I agree with staying away from all sweet tastes. So many of us have been addicted to sugar our whole lives ..... I have been eating Carnivore for 9 weeks, and am very happy.
I’m 63 yo and been low carb for 2 years followed by carnivore for one. Been clearing out my kitchen shelves where I had collected a ton of cookery books. While thumbing through the pages I realise they mean nothing to me now. Carnivore is beautifully so so simple.
Very inspiring. I've done ketovore over a year in the past then got off and gained some back. Now, at 70, I'm feeling so bad, horrible knee pain, hip and leg pain, shoulder, neck arm pain, poor sleep, indigestion, bloat. All gets better after few days of carnivore, then I get sick of Meats available here in my small town. I waste more meat. I think I'm just going to have to eat browned ground beef with onions and Italian seasoning. Hoping onions don't cause problems. Never big on Meats. Hard. Gotta feel better and lose weight
Watching the big buff man on the right with his head thrown back in laughter is so joyful. This keeps popping in my feed and I stop every time to absorb that. It must be great to be his friend. Great video too. I am a wannabe carnivore.
I’m 60 days in and not only do I have zero pain from inflammation but I feel clear, energetic and happy. Happy is my biggest accomplishment, I was severely depressed and anxious even though I have a great life. I’m also down 13 pounds. I didn’t have a lot to lose but it’s definitely a bonus.
I watched the documentary, Fat Fiction on RU-vid. Because of it, Cut out, corn, wheat, soy, sugar and processed seed oils, lost 25lbs in 2.5 months. Went on to keto and now carnivore. Have kept the weight off for a year and half, knee no longer hurts going up some stairs, beard has grown in like never before.
With my own life experience, I agree with everything she said. I am triggered by pears, watermelon, carrots, and cream. I feel best when I only consume meat. Off all meds, no longer in daily pain, and have more muscle than 10 years ago. 💪 ❤🥩
Fruit is my kryptonite. "Not Worth It" is my new bumper sticker Some fruit doesn't seem to have any negative impact on me but when I do eat it I eat it about half an hour prior to a meat fest. This allows it to digest on its own. I'm going to try and give it up all the way but if you eat it try eating it first instead of dessert.
It makes me very sad that there are so many overweight and obese people out there... they just need to start understanding and implementing what our ancestors did ie fasting weekly/monthly, eating alot of red meat and start moving around more
Here's what I like to say about walking away from sweet treats ...... I loved cookies, all kinds, since I was a little girl, like most kids, and if I tried to estimate how many cookies I have eaten in my life ...... I have probably eaten a million cookies in my life. I don't think I need any more .... 🤓
54 here... NAFLD, type 2 diabetes, triglycerides thru the roof, a slew of messed up blood tests, bad skin, AWFUL acid reflux, low testosterone, poor mood, low energy, constant need for naps, lost 80lbs all fixed in 6 months on carnivore. My gp saw all these results.. his jawed dropped as he looked at me and back to test results... then he saw my LDL and OMFG STATINS!!!!!! With all due respect, doctors.. go to hell . If i want to feel like crap and die soon I'll take your advice.
@@agisler87 thats exactly what Ive learned. I dont listen to a thing he says or really even go there anymore because its all just nonsense coming out his mouth. i will only go when its something is really wrong, like you suggested, a broken bone
Absolutely agree about no snacking and to sit down and eat a decent size meal mainly steak and butter. If I eat enough I won’t be peckish for snacks. Meat does that for you. And at work I skip lunch so I can sit down with a cuppa and have a good break. No afternoon slump or tiredness after eating just straight back into brain alert and body firing. I’ve never experienced this before until I went full carnivore. I do do intermittent fasting because it helps me become hungry for my meat feast at dinner otherwise I’m not really hungry but then I get peckish. I prefer a massive sit down meal and not worry Abuja food until the next dinner.
I haven't gone completely carnivore yet. I have carnivore days. Have cleaned out alot of pasta and other food stuff; other things like waffles in my freezer; once they are gone they are gone. Grocery shopping is so much easier.
When I ate mostly meat no sugar low carbs (I did eat cabbage and onions and green beans) I lost all desire to binge. Problem is I never thought about food and couldn’t keep weight on. Even eating huge steaks w butter and lots of cheese and eggs.
I agree re the keto diet. I think there’s just so much emphasis on macros and recipes and trying to find substitutes for comfort foods, that it’s a downward spiral. Regardless of whether you make those junk food substitutes at home or buy them in the store you’re still feeding your addictions.
I was a bit disappointed when she mentioned that she still drinks alcohol. No vegetable or fruit will ever harm you as much as alcohol, which is literal plant poison. She said all this (good) stuff about not feeding your (sugar) addiction but then she keeps drinking her wine? Come on.
Great show!!! Your pod cast is becoming one of my favorites. I’m totally carnivore and love it. Also, science and the Bible agree. 120yrs! Genesis 6:3 NIV [3] Then the Lord said, “My Spirit will not contend with humans forever, for they are mortal ; their days will be a hundred and twenty years.”
1. The scientific consensus does not recommend a carnivore diet. 2. Your biblical quote has nothing to do with a carnivorous way of eating. In fact the staple foods of people of the ancient Middle East were bread, beans, nuts and fruit.
Genesis 1:29, NIV: Then God said, 'I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food.
@@Raxados Genesis 9:2-3 NIV [2] The fear and dread of you will fall on all the beasts of the earth, and on all the birds in the sky, on every creature that moves along the ground, and on all the fish in the sea; they are given into your hands. [3] Everything that lives and moves about will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything.
Guess I should remind the people in this thread that the Bible means nothing in the world of evidence. The Bible is evidence of nothing, just like how the Harry Potter books aren’t evidence of real life events either.
20,000 years ago we probably ate fruit, but only for two weeks in a year. Gorging on fruit was probably a good way to put some fat on before the lean times of winter. However now we can eat fruit all year round, nature did not design us to eat fruit 365 days per year. Also, ever since humans started cultivating fruit, farmers have been breeding and crossbreeding fruit to make it as sweet and juicy as possible. 20,000 years ago fruit had a lot less sugar than the fruits on our supermarket shelves these days.
Do the Carnivore Diet but please realize a couple things: endure the metabolizing adaptation state (generally 1-3 weeks likely diarrhea) and get electrolyte supplements.
One comment on snacking - sure, the calories add up, but the real problem is that every time you eat anything (except fat) you're going to spike your insulin. Since going carnivore, I eat two meals a day (usually steak and eggs before work, and more beef when I get home). On the rare occasion that I snack at work, it's on home made beef jerky that I keep in my locker. Sometimes when I'm sitting in front of my computer at home, I feel the urge to snack, but that's just a decades-old habit that is slowly going away.
I use hexanne in my lab. FYI… if spilt, evaporates faster and more flammable than alcohol. Scary stuff!! She said heCannes is used to process seed oils.
