You have many years to go. That little village was fantastic! I would have been a kid in a candy store there. We have Batsto Village here in NJ and it also has a blacksmith and I hang around there for hours every time I go there. Considering I have been a metal fabricator most of my life anything that has to do with metalworking fascinates me. On top of that those old villages just have a way of grabbing my interest. Seeing how things were done before it was so easy.Thanks so much for the tour!

At 6.54 Tipton you passed what was my nana & grandads house on the right White House white Windows. I spent a lot of years with my dad fishing at that tree then in the evening watching the trains fly past from the rear living room window. As you go down the arm under the road bridge there's a boatyard to the right spent a lot of time watching boats being built love that stretch.

Belated happy birthday M, swam with Jellyfish, walk across a volcano and helped make a Black country chain, surely all other birthdays are going to pale into insignificance (not). I love the way, as we get older, our exaggeration levels creep upwards......"Left to my wife's offers I would starve"......definitely in the top 100. Noticed Jo stuck one in there too. "I had to walk miles to find a bridge"....that too could get in the top 100.....carry on you two, it's a joy to watch and listen.

Really interesting vlog... birthday best M and making chain links a proper birthday treat for a chap. I lived in the area for many years and this really takes me back to those days with all the place names and the old mines and tunnels. George as energetic as ever..always makes me smile.

I suppose the tunnel reflected the ‘old shape’ of narrowboats which were almost triangular above the waterline, whereas the modern ones are squared off. Welcome to your 45th year someone has their finger on the fast forward button form here on in.😂

The Yin&Yan of winter cruising it's peaceful very little traffic but everything's closed but I do think on balance its well worth doing. Black Country museum is very good struggle to see it all in a day. Wishing you both a great Christmas on the cut.

I suppose if you're going to cruise and see the canal network and are Interested in the history of, Birmingham is a must, I don't like the place though. There's a badass side to Birmingham, and badass in not a very nice or good way, don't think I've ever seen a canal or my travels there, funnily enough. Would have loved to have seen the place in its heyday, when those canals were built, when it truly was "the workshop of the world". Thanks again you guys and Merry Christmas to you both, ( and George ), mustn't forgot him.

Don’t feel bad, virtually no modern boats get close to fitting in Dudley tunnel. Also just noticed that you have the cheap black anti vandal keys, they don’t work well as the square is a bit big, best to get at least one “real” one.

Happy birthday Mike. Ah to be so young. As for the insane orange clown- the 'walls' are closing in on him. He can't lie his way out of all his scams. One media outfit has Pinocchio heads with longer noses depending on the level of deviance from the truth. At one point last week they just called it bottomless Pinocchio. He has been great in one respect. Comedians could not ask for better material for their skits.
