Legend has it the stake that was used to kill the werewolves was often embedded in the tombstone. The "BM" indicates the beast was killed with Black Magic and the circled "W" indicates a werewolf type of beast. I would be partial to bolting in the brackets that makes the condition easier to monitor and swap or wearing or rusting parts.

Just gonna throw this out there but Could be a Boundary Marker of Sorts. I'm working on my trailer & logging arch as well hope to finish it up this summer.

I think bolt the brackets in. Good grade 8s with fat fender washers should work just as good as welding them in. If you damage 1 you won't have to carve it out.

D Roy I don’t think so, only because of how shallow it is. Our frost line is 18” deep

Build a second 4 ft arch back behind the first arch, to run the wrench line up then to the arch. Stop being fragile...
