Holy cow, that's quite some piece of industrial steel - must weigh a ton. Bearing edge looks like you could cut yourself on it. Gorgeous :)

Now if only the heads were 1/1000th as durable as the shell. Throw some really thin rims and a diplomat on it and see what that does. Drilling the case holes looked and sounded suspensful.

I've had my custom 14x10 stainless steel snare drum (4mm thick!!!) laser-cut. Otherwise the rolling and welding was pretty much the same as yours.... And I installed off-the-shelf Hardware. The result weighs in at 11,5kg and it sounds absolutely great. One of a Kind. Way to go!!!!!
