14 Arrested in Safety and Sobriety Checkpoint 

Jacksonville Sheriff’s officers arrested 14 people Friday, June 7, during a Safety and Sobriety Checkpoint on the westside.
JSO’s Specialized Traffic Enforcement Unit uses a data driven approach to identify areas with an increase in crashes and dangerous driving. For this operation, they chose 103rd Street near Connie Jean Road. More than 2 dozen officers contacted drivers in the evening hours at the checkpoint, making sure everyone was operating their vehicle safely.
This resulted in the following arrest:
DUI: 10
Drug Possession: 2
Driving With Suspended License: 1
Other: 1
Officers also issued 30 traffic citations and seized 120 grams of marijuana after making contact with more than 200 vehicles.
