This is why I drive my old truck.....the crappy ride, brakes, shifting and noise make it an engaging experience! I don't want to ride a couch, I want to DRIVE the thing and be rewarded for my inputs in a visceral way.

Ah, yes, a nice drive through the scenic Oregon landscape. I had forgotten how beautiful Oregon is. My folks used to take the family on summer vacations to the West Coast every other year, driving from the Omaha, NE area west to San Francisco, up Highway 101 to Rockaway Beach, Oregon ( west of Portland- to meet up /camp with relatives for a week ), up to Seattle, then back east through the northern states to NE. Many fond memories! ( I should add that the last time I was in Oregon was 1976 ) I`ve had a chance,these last few days, to re- view some of your older videos, and have noticed how some commenters do not really understand that you are not seeking to do full-out complete `restorations`; instead, your focus on RNR TOT is to fix these vehicles back into safe and functional daily drivers ( leaving any further restoration modifications to the customer/buyer ). That being said, Excellent restoration on this WC6, Jeff! I continue to be impressed with your skills and pleased with your videos ! Looking forward to future videos of Whitey, Crusty, Old Blue, and other future projects ! Thank you, Sir !

Mr Jeff, Back in the day when I was a little, kid some movie producer's approached my dad to use his power wagon in the making of the movie Tora Tora Tora. They repainted it back to military green used it for several months gave it back to my dad and a big fat check a whole $1000 bucks. Well here in Hawaii back in them day's that was very good money, now that I am 60 years old seeing this thing run again it brought back some fond memories. You are a good mechanic and you love the same things I do, I like to watch your show;s keep up the great work, thank you.

I'm only about 40 miles from you (as the crow flies) and we've had over 34 inches of rain this month alone. Not many days this month you could have shot this video. I've always marveled at how different the terrain is over there vs the coast where roads like that would be way too brushy and erroded to drive. I wish I had a rig that I didn't have to worry about scratching the paint.

HBO, when it was still a new channel would show films of a bicycle riding through a park from the rider's perspective. This reminded me of that- just a pleasant ride, no hurry, no worry. I still cant fathom that is a 70+ year old truck.

@friedrichbellermann1791 8 лет назад
actually, in dry weather those roads (apart from the mud pit) are passable with a passenger vehicle, especially from Budget Rent a Car
@queenofyeay
@queenofyeay 8 лет назад
Friedrich Bellermann Sure, but what prompted me to suggest that the roads haven't been traveled in a long time is the way nature has begun to reclaim it!
@friedrichbellermann1791
@friedrichbellermann1791 8 лет назад
Fair enough, but since then my son and I have been through there with a chainsaw and some clippers. That road is about half the maintained access trails and it's a chore to keep back the manzanita. There's a third stretch up the mountain of about equal length that I've had to let go for lack of time and resources. Now that the truck rolls and I'm about to retire, I have an extra incentive to hack that free again.
@queenofyeay
@queenofyeay 8 лет назад
Friedrich Bellermann Awesome, seems like it will be an great way to get some exercise and be out in nature at the same time... It sure is beautiful up on those trails, glad I got to see it from the camera eye view!

Nice work, but not done yet Jeff. Grease job for the squeak, manifold kit, maybe a front bumper, or even a winch front from another half ton? Merry Christmas all
@friedrichbellermann1791
@friedrichbellermann1791 8 лет назад
got any of that?
@gordonmcmillan3130
@gordonmcmillan3130 8 лет назад
I have a manifold kit somewhere. I have a half ton winch and PTO too, but got a vehicle to build it into. The real problem with the exhaust leak is the manifold configuration - Chrysler defined the engine with two bolts running through the exhaust stream and they never come out without shearing - meaning broken exhaust manifold when you try to remove it. The gasket kit is nothing but the exhaust manifold isn't cheap. Vintage Power Wagons have it all
@friedrichbellermann1791
@friedrichbellermann1791 8 лет назад
Right you are and that is why Jeff is less than eager to get into that. I'd like to get 'er done sometime sooner or later and, yes, vintage PW will be my first source. What I'd really like to do is put a small dump on the back. I have no plans for a front winch, although there is PTO access.
