I was diagnosed with depression at a young age. rarely went outside, developed agoraphobia, and stayed home almost every day barely leaving my room. once my old doctor retired I was replaced with a new one. she brought up vitamin d deficiency to me after doing lab tests for the medication I was taking. she told me to start taking vitamin d. and it’s helped me improve in a lot of areas. it really has made a difference to me.
Thanks so much for sharing this! For the past 2 years I’ve been really depressed. I rarely leave the house and I’ve developed agoraphobia. I’m glad to hear that you’re better after increasing Vitamin D. It gives me hope. I’m grateful for this video and your comment!
My friend had the exact same thing happen to him except he became a raging alcoholic and eventually passed away from his addiction to alcohol. I really hope u get better and stay positive. Best wishes
I can definitely tell you Vitamin D is SO IMPORTANT! Vertigo, hair loss, weight gain, and especially for mental health. I was depressed and crying everyday over the silliest little things and even if I detected a tone change in my husbands voice. I was never like this before. Fast forward a couple months and I decided to book a surgery that would improve my health and weight loss. During all the steps for screening I had bloodwork so many times and it was discovered my Vitamin D levels were beyond the “low” point and I needed it pronto! Within a week of receiving the correct dosage everyday, it’s improved 10 fold and I don’t feel how I did. However, since I cannot absorb iron, B12, and Vitamin C either I’ve been diagnosed with malabsorption syndrome. I beg anyone whom has even one vitamin deficiency, to get a full mineral and vitamin blood panel done. It could save you months of depression and even save your life.
Someone named Laura asked how to get the full blood panel done, and you would have to ask your Family Doctor or a walk-in clinic doctor here in Ontario, Canada. It’s free under OHIP but there are a few here that we do have to pay for regarding more screening for blood disorders (which can contribute to deficiencies and isn’t limited to anemia). Hope that helps 😁
My God, have I been blessed just by reading the comments! I felt like I had been to Church! And Lord knows that the video was the number one blessing! Y'all made my day and my hips stop hurting and my hair is growing back! I have been praying for a while to solve these two problems! God is good! This is so nice I will watch the video twice!!
@Creshendoe Beats I was tired all the time, had trouble exercising because I felt weak, wounds would take forever to heal. The video is a pretty accurate description of my symptoms, really.
@Jf My doctor prescribed supplements for a couple months, plus I ate more Vitamin D rich foods and went outside more. It took me about three months to recover fully.
A couple of years ago, my mom had severe muscle pains. She feared for the worst and went to the doctor to get a blood test done. Lo and behold, her vitamin d levels were VERY low. She started taking supplements and her muscle pain went away. It’s amazing how we can overlook something like vitamin deficiency.
If I may know did ur mom's muscle pains included chest pains n back pain.... I'm just 28 and I feel pains like hell all over the body esp which I never had before
If your doctor doesnt bring up finding a deficiency when you explain your symptoms, then find a new doctor. Unfortunately most doctors immediately start thinking what prescription pharmaceutical drug would address the symptoms rather than finding the root cause of what’s causing the symptoms in the first place
This! I've been prescribed anti-depressants in the past.. my new doctor tried to say I have borderline personality disorder due to my low extreme moods. I had to push for bloodwork and I am low in both vitamin D and iron (ferritin). I've connected with a naturopath who I feel is actually there to support my best interests. My current doctor does PPR and when I went to her about my hair loss she tried to offer me that service rather than doing bloodwork. Unfortunately accepting doctors are hard to come by here.
Some doctors have said having patients come in routinely for appointments to renew a prescription that only treats the symptoms is their “bread and butter”. Great business model for them if you think about it. You need to research yourself, get tested for Vit D, and discuss with your doctor. If you bring up the discussion they will try to help you. If not, find another. Most doctors go into the profession to truly help people, but some are drawn in by the money.
@@tomunderwood4283 absolutely makes sense. My doctor refused to let me test for vitamin D last year despite it being a test I pay out of pocket for. She finally agreed this year and I’m low in both ferritin and vitamin D despite her saying I’m fine. We have a doctor shortage in my province so finding a new family doctor has proven difficult. In the meantime I’ve been doing my own research and working with a naturopath who actually listens.
To those out there who feel anxious , suffer from low mood, fatigue, depression, giddiness plz make sure to check your b12 and d3. I used to feel dizzy since 3 months used to have vertigo episodes , consulted various docs but none really suggested me these tests except my latest doc suggested me b12 and i aslo checked my d3 . It was severely deficient.
I worked 16hrs a day in a underground subway platform i hardly ever saw the sun. All of a sudden i couldn't take long walks or climb stairs without feeling like i was about to die. I came across this video and started taking vitamin d pills within a month my problems were solved.
My new naturopath has just diagnosed me with low vitamin d, and said it’s been low across all my blood tests over the last 18m, but the GP would just say “you vitamin d is a bit low but that’s normal”, I’ve been having complaining of fatigue and all these things for years, and recently had an arthritis test because my feet bones/muscles were aching so much, I’m now taking a lot of supplements and it feels like my feet are hurting less.
The video and the comment section is full of information and productive responses. Going through the comments has made me realize why my mood is low and depressed these days. Although I am trying to convince myself to improve but failing everyday. My anxiety is always high and I have trouble sleep. I am 22 & had my blood test a week ago and my vit D deficiency level is at 3. My muscle pain is improving with medicines. Hope will get through it soon. Blood Test is very important for everyone. Do not neglect it.
OMG I’m going through the exact same thing rn I’m 22 too and my Vitamin D level was 4 !!! I’ve had lower back pain . Fatigue, depression and severe anxiety and headaches 😢 I’ll start medications soon hopefully I’ll get better !
@@missmichelle2201 yes, unfortunately. But I’ve been going through that for some time and I noticed that my hair loss was very severe and happened again the exact same time of year..in the spring. When I started looking it up, I found out there was such a thing as “seasonal hair loss” which occurs from being indoors and not getting enough sunlight. The body says you don’t need that hair to protect your head if there’s nothing to protect it from. I had been in college classes the past couple of years and cooped up inside studying so much. Never in my life through anything had I lost this amount of hair. And never had I been so cooped up. So it just makes sense to me that whatever vitamin D my body creates or uses from sunlight has been suppressed. Then I found this video and didn’t even know there were other symptoms for a lack of vitamin D.
@@christinamorin1914 I ask because I was diagnosed with depression a few years ago. I started doing my research because not one medication I was put on worked for me. I asked my doctor and mentioned to him that maybe I was low on vitamin D, but to my surprise he thought it was just better for me to try a different antidepressant. I just decided on my own to take vitamin D supplements and my motivation has improved so much. In my opinion doctors dont care as long as they are making money. I'm not saying that depression isn't real because it is. But I also think that low motivation, tiredness, and feeling half dead can be mistaken for depression when in reality your just lacking vitamins.
@@christinamorin1914 depression and lack of vitamin D are sometimes confused. I'm not sure how to share a link on here but I suggest you watch some videos on here about it.
I was extremely depressed... I had no energy and even struggled to shower. I felt so sad all the time. It was horrible. I learned about vitamin D deficiency so I started taking 10,000 IU. It completely helped me overcome all my depression and I have a ton of energy! If I only would have known before...I wouldn't have suffered for so long. Also, ashwaganda helps me with anxiety.
@@ginandgwen yeah pretty much, there are no documented cases of overdosing with that dosage, not that I'm aware of. Just make sure to take co-factors like Magnesium and K-2 with your D as well.
I went in to severe depression and my doc even said he really believed I was clinically depressed, he put me in depression meds that did no good .I could not stop crying I would wake up in the morning crying cry all day and cry myself to sleep and I did not even know why ..I shut myself off for my children and grandchildren and my whole entire family and friends. my doctor finally ordered blood test and my vitamin d had bottomed out, once I got it back into my system it all got better and once my level got at a normal level I was no longer depressed it's unreal what low vitamin d can do a person's body and mind
Thanks for sharing this. I am so depressed and for the first time ever, I have had bad thoughts. I am sore and achy all over as well. I even have a therapist. It’s reassuring that so many people have had a turn around with Vit D supplements. I was feeling very hopeless. My vit d level is 27 and was told to take 10,000ui daily for a month and test again.
I had every single one of these symptoms, which I attributed to getting older. My VA doctor, however, ordered blood tests, and sure enough, I had such low levels that I had to go on a weekly dose. The difference has been amazing, and I'll never stop taking it. Among other improvements, for the first time in my adult life, I can sleep all night with no hip or bone pain. And my gums don't bleed anymore.
@@margotmelvin1578 you sure seem to have an answer and criticism for everyone. You don’t know these people. Stop giving unasked for medical advice. Your going to hurt someone someday.
I have most of these symptoms. I never spend time outside. A lot of people keep telling me that I seems I severely lack vitamin D, I'll be talking to my doctor about it.
It's so nice to read the comments. Like me, everyone regretted not seeing this video much earlier. Those trained on the medical field usually tend to neglect checking these vitamins (and minerals) and is not even included as one of the basic exam to be done. If it was, imagine how much we'd save by preventing so many signs and symptoms due to deficiencies or excess thereof.
My doctor seriously told me that he never test for vitamin D deficiencies because he thinks it’s a “trend“. After asking him more than once if I could get vitamin D deficiency testing and getting nowhere with it plus being super depressed and in pain I ended up finding a new doctor finally. Testing was done my levels are 27 and she’s going to have me take supplements at 10,000 UI for a month and then test again. I’ve also had Hashimoto’s for the last nine years and those two go hand-in-hand so I really wish I would’ve known about this so long ago it would’ve saved me so much sadness.
I had a heart attack few times and I was in the emergency hospital, the doctors couldn’t find what was the problem then they gave me electric shock for my heart, but I couldn’t get recover then finally i started to take vitamins D and then few months later every single problem is gone from my heart I’ve been so many time cardiologist and spent money and I couldn’t fix the problem Thank god finally I saw this video everything came well .
@@hiradani7480 YOU ALWAYS TAKE K2 with vitamin D it’s essential it helps you absorb the vitamin D in addition to that the K2 with the vitamin D is for your heart!

My 16 y/o son has struggled for 2 yrs. It began w/anxiety but became so much more. What was tricky is that he’d exp life altering events & trauma that any adult would struggle w, let alone a kid. But it got to the point that he was having freq panic attacks, severely depressed, unable to concentrate or function @ school, exhausted but unable to sleep, list goes on & on. We attributed all of this to mental health but his psychologist suggested a full physical. (Mind u he’s 6 ft 3” healthy looking boy). Boy, was I shocked w/the labs. His Vit D was 4! And his thyroid is overactive, fort due to a “hot nodule” that is seemingly becoming less active. He’s been on massive Vit D for 2 wks & is already noticing some improvement. Def not “well, but after 2 yrs, it brings me to tears to know he has even a small amount of relief. And I will forever regret not realizing sooner that there were physical causations beyond any of the mental health. Do yourself a favor & have the labs run.
I’m struggling with this right now I’m always fatigued which causes me to not have good work ethic at my job because most of the time I feel sleepy and tired. I’ve also been dealing with anxiety attacks and headaches which makes it worse because it has me thinking I probably have a serious condition. Depression kicks in here and there. I’m now taking vitamin d3 and hopefully it resolves the issue because it’s very difficult living like this.
Vit D is actually a hormone. And the building block for absolutely everything in your body. So yes, you would get many different diagnosis but the main thing might be as simple as Vit D.
I used to have critically low Vit D levels. However I never experienced any muscle pains. My symptoms included feeling tired all the time, intermittent depression and mild suicidal thoughts, low endurance and some hair loss. On the other hand, women of child bearing age should have their iron levels checked too. I found out my ferritin levels were low which contributed to my fatigue, dull skin and hair loss. Since I started taking Vit D and low dose Iron (Amazon , 25 mcg each) I feel so much better
I was feeling so exhausted for months. Went in for a routine physical and got my vitamins checked. Found out I was low in iron and Vitamin D! Within a few weeks of taking supplements and changing my diet, I am starting to feel better and I no longer feel lightheaded when standing up quickly!
@@marymurphy8067 nope I’m not a doctor. Ex-gym rat & (had) vitamin D deficiency issue. At least 10,000 each day to begin with. Dr. Steven Gundry said, he has never ever seen a toxic level of Vitamin D. He said he regularly takes 15,000 per day. You have to remember that when you look at FDA (minimum) levels. That means before you start showing signs of diseases. If you know a gym rat... they normally are a great source of nutritional information. Unfortunately, Doctors are not trained in nutrition so you have to get your info elsewhere. It’s shocking and sad that Doctors know nothing about nutrition. Check out Dr Steven Gundry. He is a Cardiologist turned Gut Doctor/Nutrition Expert and entertaining to listen to. Lol Good luck
I have this...it's so annoying and I'm tired of being tired...I'll stay up 1 hour after breakfast and lunch then go back to bed...it's pretty sad and embarrassing
I had numbness/tingling throughout my body, night sweats, terrible sleeping, dizziness, and I kept getting sick (which i never do)….docotors couldn’t figure out what was wrong after every test. under the sun, until they tested my Vitamin D. It was at a 9. So important to get your Vitamin D. It affects so many things.
literally same here, i was extremely fatigued, my hair was falling out like crazy, i felt depressed and would randomly feel feverish for no reason, so i tested my vitamin D and it was at a 7 so my doctor gave me a 30,000 iu shot and has me on daily vitamin D supplements (2,000 iu a day). i'm hoping to see an improvement soon.
Like many here I have almost all the symptoms and have been telling ALL my doctors for years how lousy I feel. My main complaints were unexplained muscle pain, bone pain, and extreme fatigue. Top three symptoms mentioned here. After seeing this video and self diagnosing my cardiologist ordered blood test and sure enough very low Vitamin D levels. Thanks for this wonderful video!! Follow up: After being diagnosed with low vitamin D I immediately started taking 2000 mg daily of Vitamin D3 and made a conscious effort to get more sun. It didn’t happen overnight (actually close to 3 months) but I now can take walks pain free and without restrictions. I may not feel like I did when I was 30 but great compared to where I was at. I used to dread walking from the parking lot to the grocery store. Now I take long pain free walks every day. I had blood work done just last week and my vitamin D levels have doubled to put me within the normal range. Please pay attention to your body and this video and perhaps it could have the same positive impact on you!!
Been taking d3 for 3 weeks after having the omnicron virus and I believe it is starting to work. Sleeping better at night. 4000 iu daily and hopefully we will see more improvement soon
How refreshing to hear a clear, easy to understand, no nonsense medical guide. Before taking VitD I endured lethargy, aching bones, low mood, fear of coping in social situations, difficulty concentrating and other problems mentioned in the video, to a lesser extent. The strangest thing was I had many bouts of what i believed was labyrinths or vertigo as it is often wrongly labelled. This is when you, wrongly, feel your body is in motion after getting to your feet. I was never advised that a deficiency in VitD could be the cause and was never given drugs that could relieve it. I have been taking cod liver oil capsules for about 6 months and the dizziness has never returned. This is also true for the physical symptoms mentioned above, but not the psychological ones, in my opinion, but they definitely haven't worsened. I had never been aware of a link between VitD and labyrinths but am now convinced it treated it successfully. VitD shall remain part of my daily supplementation with this knowledge as, regardless, I have nothing to lose and everything to gain. I would add the only other supplements I use are Omega3 and 6. Note. When I studied bioscience at university in the late 80's/early 90's, I asked my physiology and food science lecturers about possible unproven nutrients. Both of them mentioned Omega3 and Omega6 compounds, which I had encountered in membrane structures, but I never forgot that they both said, if they were to bet on the next big thing, it would be a fat soluble compound and the liver might be a valuable source of it/them. It might be proven they were wide of the mark, but I would be inclined to listen to them as opposed all this pseudo science we see in the media and online.
@@belfedhaltayeb8958 I take 10 micrograms daily in the form of cod liver oil, which is 200% of RDA. I also take 5 micrograms as part of a multivitamin supplement and whatever I get from my diet on top of that. Hope that helps. Edit. Ensure it is vitamin D3 you are getting. D2 plays some part in metabolism but D3 plays the largest role.

Since of quarantine I’ve been stuck doing online school and being mostly inside, I do dance but that’s inside as well. I just went to my doctor and the normal is 30% and I was at 18%! Please remember to get outside, I thought I had depression and anxiety but it was my vitamin d levels effecting my body
I felt tierd and tingling all over my body headache. So now I just take a supplement vitamin D with vitamin K everyday. Three months later I went from a 9 to a 39
So does everyone live in an apartment with no yard then? This quarantine is bull crap because most people were working indoors one way or another anyways and anybody can go sit outside.. During wintertime, people get very negligible sunlight due to low daylight hours and low light strength from the sun as well as being covered up most of the time, so your statement is totally null and void I'm afraid..
The one thing you're leaving out is that taking vitamin K2 with vitamin D helps your body store it better and deliver it to your bones, along with calcium. I used to be severely deficient of vitamin D and started taking a copious amount of D3 each day and after a year, my levels only increased by a small margin. I then started taking calcium and k2 and after less than a month, my vitamin D level were normal.
That is how I am, right now. After i eat, I get so lethargic, I can barely walk to my bed. My bones get severely achy. I was sweating out of my head so bad, I blamed it on getting a hysterectomy 13 years ago.i started taking Flax seed, Schisandra, Chasteberry, and Ashwaganda, it has really helped, so it may have been my estrogen levels. I have a lot of these symptoms for low Vitamin D, though. I live in PA, so the winters are dreary here.
@@MissMolly3377 I am the same, after I eat I feel so weak I can barely move, even lifting my arms is so hard to do. Do you also get a heavy feeling in your chest. I have not had a hysterectomy but had one ovary removed when I was a child and the other has been reconstructed many times... may be it is something to do with why I feel so ill. I paid to have a blood test and it shown I had ovarian failure and so deficient in vitamin d I was off the chart.
I just found out I had vitamin d deficiency in November 2020 after having a blood test. I have read that Vitamin d deficiency is often overlooked by GP’s and a blood test is not automatically given for Vitamin d deficiency by your GP, unless you request that to be done. The blood test for Vitamin D Deficiency was taken by a locum doctor at my GP’s surgery without me known and not by any of the partners at my surgery and I’m so grateful to her that she did that blood test. I had heard of Vitamin D Deficiency, but I never knew about any of the symptoms until I had that blood test in November 2020. So for anyone in the UK who has similar symptoms, request a blood test for Vitamin D Deficiency. It could be caused by other medical issues as well. But if it is Vitamin D Deficiency it can be medically treat very easily. Although I’m still not feeling 100% fit and healthy as of yet!
@@juliekane7210 Vitamin D helps your body absorb Calcium. Calcium is one of the Major Minerals (aka macro-minerals). Adults need 1,200mg daily. Here’s some info about calcium deficiency: draxe.com/nutrition/calcium-deficiency/ Vitamin D3 - is one of the fat-soluble vitamins, meaning your body can store excess of these in the liver and fat tissues. The other three that are fat-soluble are A, E, and K2. Vitamin D isn’t always thought of as a vitamin since we make it ourselves. Humans produce vitamin D when exposed to sunlight. About a year ago I lost all my energy. I literally was too weak to walk . Turned out my vitamin D levels were very low. Doctor put me on a high dose of D2. when my levels went back to normal I started taking D3. Made all the difference in the world in the way I feel.
I was diagnosed with a vitamin D deficiency. My doctor prescribed a 15000 mg supplement that I only took once a week. I saw a positive difference in my energy level and mood in just one week. I was just diagnosed with a vitamin D deficiency. I have been amazed at the difference in my body. I’m shocked that I had each of these, and the doctor didn’t catch it. Fortunately, I sought an endocrinologist and he found it.
A lot of doctors treat the symptoms and not the cause. Some are rewarded for promoting drugs with holidays etc. I cleared my throat quietly, as I was going into a doctors office once and she tried to prescribe me Nexium as she thought I was burping! There were posters up everywhere in the surgery promoting the drug
My doctor tried to tell me that most people don't feel the symptoms. I was sore and achy all over my body, fatigued, really bad brain fog, headaches and have insomnia and mood swings. Please have your thyroid levels checked! Also, get in the habit of feeling your throat, especially front of the thyroid gland, every morning and evening, becoming aware of any lumps. there is more thyroid cancer than breast cancer. early detection is lifesaving. That extreme degree of sleepiness, low vitamin D might not be the only culprit. As others have pointed out, Low D is associated with cancer. Good news: most (like over 90%) of people with thyroid cancer never have a future cancer.
Recent bloodwork showed that my vitamin D level was all but nonexistent. Just had bloodwork a week ago and my D is really low again. Thanks for commenting on this, cause it reminded me of how much better I felt with the mega dose. I need to follow up on that. My D level last week was 13.1.
I also had vitamin D deficiency. I had muscle, bone ache, hair loss and the sweets. I when to the Dr. to check and after the test result came back he was worried. He said, my level were too low and he was surprised that I was even walking. I started my treatment and thank God now all those symptom are gone, even my hair started to grow back.
Sorry for my very late reply, I just notice your questions. Bone pain can be described like, your in a cold room from a very long time that your bones start to hurt. I don’t remember the dosage but the Dr. Said that the RX can only get it through through prescription. You take once a week. I didn’t not had any stomach nor back pain.
OMG I wish I knew this. I have been suffering with Vertigo for almost a month. I feel exhausted and depress. I find myself crying everyday. Dizzy and Nausea all the time cuz of the virtigo. I was told I might have covid even though I would come out negative. I am losing my mind. I went to the doctor and he told me I have bacteria in my stomach thats why I was nauseous. Gave me medication I felt worse. Went to see an NP and she diagnosed me with Virtigo and did blood work and guess what? Extremely low Vitamin D. Today for the first time I will start my intake of Vitamin D. I pray I will start feeling better soon. I want my vertigo gone and my depression gone. I want to feel happy again. 😭
Hello ,I am also having vertigo problem, dizziness, stomach infection, numbness, anxiety, depression and mang more ,my vitamin d level is 13,,,is a subject about worry?
My present level is 6. I can't believe I was avoiding all of these symptoms. Immense hair loss, lot of body and muscle pain and tiredness. Am glad I got it checked, will start taking supplements from tomorrow
I have vitamin D deficiency and I can relate to most of these symptoms especially when it comes to muscle ache and injuries and bruises, they take time to heal
@@ebi9668 I took the pills 400 UI per day I finished them a month ago and following a diet now and trynna do some sport Thank you for asking I really appreciate it 🤗
Sleeping during the day is also linked to low vit d levels. I had most of the symptoms mentioned pretty severely but I was also sleeping all throughout the day and was only awake for 2-3 hrs in the late evening (10pm -12am). Had a blood test and my vit d levels were really low. The year before I had a pretty significant folate deficiency. GP now prescribed vit d for life. Calcium deficiency can be appalling too...had that a few yrs before.
As you were describing it I was checking off the boxes. I was just diagnosed with Vitamin D deficiency.Thank you for the information you provided. It's greatly appreciated.💖
I had brain fog, tiredness, forgetfulness , shoulder + back ache and hair loss, low mood I thought I had diabetes/ thyriod issues until my gp put me on 1500iu of vitamin d. Within 2 days I felt more human. I can now function at work although im still quite forgetful, im just waiting for my hair to grow back
I have every symptom! When I told my doctor that I thought I had low vitamin D she kinda blew me off, but did a blood test anyhow. You should have seen how surprised she was to find I was right! I'm on supplements now and try to get some sunshine, too. I'm prone to basal cell carcinoma, so I have to be careful not to be exposed to the sun's harmful rays too much. I hope my symptoms will go away soon. I'm so tired of feeling bad.
I live in the Northwest were everyone has a vitamin D difficiency due to lack of sun. Most all physicians prescribe 3000 to 5000 units daily to the residents.
@@yvonneburns2786 Yes, I bought a SAD light, seasonal affective disorder light on Amazon. 30 minutes a day. I put it in my kitchen when cooking or in my living room. It helped a lot. As to the comments of the sun comes up everyday. Oregon, Washington and Alaska is further from the equator, and have gray, cloud cover 6-7 months out of the year. Add the smoke from yearly SUMMER fires covering the skies, and you get very little sunlight. I'm moving to Wisconsin in 6 months.
@@margotmelvin1578 In the Northwest we get 6-7 months of cloud covered, gray skies and we are further from equator. Add summers of choking smoke filled skies due to massive wildfires and you get no sun for 10 months. So, yeah the sun rises daily, but it doesn't shine everywhere.
That's it, I'm in Australia in Summer and just not going out enough due to all of these kinds of symptoms! I'm going to force myself out the door to walk in the sunshine tomorrow. The last time I had some time outside it felt so good, I literally felt energised but I haven't been going out much at all for a very long time and didn't think about how it would be affecting my health. Unfortunately, it becomes a vicious circle, too little sun makes you feel terrible so you don't go out and then you just make it worse. Time for some will power and walk through the pain!
Story time: I'm a fitness addict, keeping my body fit and lifting weights is my absolute favorite thing to do, and to maintain a strong looking body I have to eat a lot. But then last year in November something happened. I suddenly felt fat and I mean really fat. On top of that I was injured on my right arm. Those things messed me up so much. If I ate a single piece of bread I'd cry because I felt fatter because of it eventually I rarely ate and it got to a point that I became way too skinny and lost all the muscle mass I had (granted it only was around 2 years but still) you could see my face be super thin that you could see bones and I just wanted to die. Eventually I told my doctor what happened and after getting my blood work done I had incredibly low vitamin D. I had to take a medicine for 8 weeks once a week. And after that the injury went away I started eating without regret and went back to training like I used too.
TheBluearmy33 I am sorry to hear that and I can relate to needing that much. Over a year ago I was diagnosed with chronic osteoporosis and very low vitamin D so I had to take 50,000 units once a week. I use to live in Va and they had a free medical clinic and I know people without insurance that need that much were able to get it by providing proof of income and that they had no insurance, so check where you live. Merry Christmas hope that helps.
@TheBluearmy33 I'm courious, did your Doctor ever mention to you about the need for K2 to assist in the D absorption. I'm so mad no health practitioner or nutritionist ever included that tid bit of undoubtedly very relevant information to me. I can't thank the people commenting here enough for sharing that. Best of luck to you
Long story short, I had every Vit D symptom and went to 7-8 specialists and although there was an obvious very very low Vit D and very high Calcium not one specialist addressed this ( p.s. I have been a RN for 47 years). I couldn’t walk 10 ft without total exhaustion and a myriad of other weird symptoms. I am usually very active (16 marathons, Mt Everest basecamp, Mt Kilimanjaro ). I finally went to a new Dr ( oesteopath) and she diagnosed me in 10”. I went for imaging and it turns out I had a parathyroid tumor! Actually 2 big ones and they were removed and my life is finally getting back to normal. Good luck everyone!
I went in to see my doctor, for months and months I kept telling him that I was losing my hair, off balance, falling, weak spells, no energy, all those symptoms and last month I went to see him and I ask would he please check my Vitamin D, a few years ago I broke a bone on the left side of my left leg, and didn’t know why until my orthopedic doctor check it and it was low, for how long I don’t know, and this time when the results came back it was 9, normal being 30-100, I couldn’t believe this. My doctor couldn’t say anything because if I had not ask for it to be checked, then he would not have had it done. Taking Vitamin D3 now, took 50,000 milligrams for four weeks, now I’m taking 2,000 each day now. Any information and advice I will appreciate it very much, thank you for this information.
mine just got checked and mine was 8. Do you notice if your hair is getting stronger and growing back? I am experiencing hair loss too and I’m getting very conscious about it now.
@@ianjolopasco6939 I really just started my treatment, taking my Vitamins every day, I’ve actually noticed a change in my hair, the texture of it, and I think it is starting to thicken, and I’m not losing as much every day as I have in the last 6 months
I'm 55 now at 40 I was checked and 50000 out for ? Months then I started 2000iu daily it's working. Oh take calcium, magnesium, zinc together to break down the calcium and vitd will be the glue to solidify your bones.
I only found out I had a vitamin D deficiency 4 years ago. I have had bone pain for 15 years and nothing helped and my vitamin D wasn't looked at. I take vitamin D daily now and since lockdown started I've started my son on vitamin D too. Always listen to your gut and ask drs to check vitamin levels. I'm not only vitamin D deficient but B12 deficient too I'm on B12 injections now every 3 months.
@@alexandrab7215 I still get tired alot I have the B12 injection every 3 months but couldn't during lockdown I waited 8 months. Still have alot of pain though xx
Methycobalmin is simpler or active form of b12, it is absorbed more easily....try to take methylcobalmin instead of b12..even o faced same problem, but after taking this I feel better
i was told by my Endocrinologist-(type I diabetic/ Insulin dependant since 5th grade) - that i have a deficiency in D…that was almost 2 mths ago…i have yet to pick up a script from the doctor yet…definitely getting it tomorrow now after reading these stories and comments!
I'm locking at least 6 of those that you mentioned now I understand why I keep going back and forth to the hospital because of my dizziness and my weakness and my muscles deteriorate thank you for all the information I saved the video and I send it to a lot of my friends and family
Your doctor can order an easy blood test for you, to check your current vitamin D levels. I live in a very sunny area, and yet found I was very low in vit D. Best wishes to you!
Very useful video..! 👌 I'm 55 yrs old diabetic woman .. I have recently started experiencing severe pain in my legs and sometimes in the whole body.. I couldn't understand why is this happening.. And thought of consulting a physician.. But by that time I have watched a video which was in our native language called Kannada.. Then I got shocked and confirmed that I'm suffering by severe vitamin D deficiency.. And immediately started taking D-rise weekly dose of powder and everyday calcium tabs with vit D 3.. It's been 15 days now.. I have started feeling better gradually .. I have to weight at least a month to feel much better.. And this video gave me more information.. Thanks for the great video..! 🙏👍
