some photographers use stage lighting, i myself use a ql-1000 halogen stage light, but it's not as hot as you would think even if it is 1000w and newer lighting uses 575w halogen lamps. unlike what the guy in the video is saying you don't actually need the lights close to the shot since the lights are brighter than a car headlight so there isn't much heat given off near the targeted area because the lamp isn't near it.

I thought he meant like...you obviously boil noodles and since theyre hot and liquid at a boiling temperature evaporates, the added heat from the lights will just dry everything out.

Hollow Galaxy don't worry it's like hibernation for them. Let's take a butterfly for example. You CAREFULLY catch it with a bug bet or something then put it CAREFULLY in a container. Then put the container in the freezer. After 24 hours (I think) take the butterfly out and VERY CAREFULLY take tweezers, pick it up GENTLY from its body, set it on your photo scene, take the photo and after a while it's gonna fly away without any harm 😁

Actually living bugs used for scientific experiments are also stored in fridges. But just at 10°C or so, so that they don't waste their energy. When there need to be tested, there carefully heated up by a lamp or so, until they're back to normal.

I wanted to let you know that this doesn't hurt them at all. Chilling not freezing, they are exothermic. Unless you just think they might have better things to do, in that case yeah. We are being very rude, denying them their freedom to do insect stuff.

Ashley King I would assume the biggest reason is just because it seems wrong to ruin food that could have been eaten had you not ruined it. And maybe to a lesser extent, they might also have problems with photographing food that doesn't look how it would without the spray and polish. it's called false advertising and some people consider that unethical.

The ice cube one is the only one I've seen actually used. But that one's not such a lie since we have fake ice cubes now that don't melt. Also admitedly the fake ice cubes look prettier than real ones almost.

Jenfer Shaffer Looking at the dyed mashed potatoes in this video, they look nothing like ice cream and it seems fairly implausible that something looking that off would be used for advertising a product.

The mashed potatoes trick is used in Hollywood and on stage. In theatre, if there is an ice cream scene, I guarantee you it's dyed mashed potatoes...and the actors eat it. Same with filming for continuity. Ice cream melts fast. The mashed potato trick works like a charm, is consistent, easy to replicate and has been used in the industry for decades. Filming vampires in black and white? Hershey's chocolate syrup looks great on camera as fake blood.

Crazy Izzy My grandmother ordered butterflies for her vow renewal. we kept them in the fridge (they come carefully wrapped in individual boxes) and I kept stressing that they were hurting themselves but when we released them the next day, they flew off just fine. We had not seen butterflies in our small town in well over 5 years. We released about 30 of them that day. Ever since, we always see butterflies in summer now. They were fine to fly off and reproduce. Trust me, it does not hurt them, only so long as you are careful. Never touch their wings with your fingers. Just catch them without causing harm and then refrigerate the container. Then take them out GENTLY with tweezers or by pinching the wings GENTLY together and placing them where you want. Take your photos and then sit back and wait and they will fly off perfectly ok.
