15 MUST TRY FILIPINO FOODS + 5 Honourable Mentions

Wondering what some Must try Filipino foods are? In this video I give you a list of some of my favourite Filipino foods. You may be surprised by the exclusion of some of the more internationally know dishes I left off, like Adobo and Sinigang. This list of the best Filipino foods is simply "MY" choice for dishes that I think you need to try. I am not claiming to be a Filipino food expert by any stretch of the imagination so do not take this as an expert opinion.
This is also not a ranking as this list was extremely difficult to put together. The 15 + 5 format was whittled down from around 70 dishes to choose from and this is basically what I came up with. I have also excluded some exotic foods from this list that will appear in next weeks video where I give you a list of some of my favourite oddities from the Philippines.
So let me know your top picks in the comments and hit that subscribe button as it costs you nothing and helps me tremendously.

I find it funny that your description said it is not in ranking order. Then I see your favorites *ahem* sisig and ube *ahem* towards the end before the honorable mentions lol. I was surprised though that you didn’t have dinuguan because I thought it has become one of your favourites lol. This is a good list for foreigners who only knows adobo, pancit, and lumpia is the extent of Filipino food.
@PureDetour
@PureDetour 7 месяцев назад
Nice catch there, Mhike. But I also said at the beginning of the video that I left some exotic dishes off the list for another video. This list was geared more towards visitors to the Philippines and I don't think there will be a lot of foreigners willing to try Dinuguan. As to the rankings, it really wasn't. While I do love both ube and sisig as you mentioned, if I am being 100% honest with you, from this list Humba is probably my favourite.
@netbiz888
@netbiz888 7 месяцев назад
Some foreigners would say that these dishes are not that healthy because they are high in cholesterol, et cetera. But Filipinos don't eat all these dishes everyday. A lot are made on special occasions but they are readily available should you have those occasional cravings. But be as it may, should we overload ourselves with these delicious dishes and suddenly die, a lot of Filipinos would probably say, "At least when we die, we die with a beautiful smile on our faces." Oh, so good! lol

Any word with an 'ng' in the middle of the word like 'bangus' or 'ingat', is pronounced like singing, swinging, or hanging. The letter 'g' is never emphasized. It's more rolling the 'ng' together. 👍🏼😉

Quite surprised tho that u didn’t include PANCIT as u can almost see this everywhere ( maybe ur not a noodle fan FAIR ENOUGH🥴) and SINIGANG ( u did mention sinigang subcategorically🫢)! Just for curiousity n me being from Batangas, have u heard or try BULANGLANG it’s just a simple but very fresh tasting veg stew really that accompany almost any meal. Nice vlog there very well described👍more power on ur channel💪!

I love pancit but this list had to be whittled down from about 80 choices. This was what I came up with and I would imagine 80 different people could do this same list and all have different choices. I never tried Bulanglang during my year there. You have now given me something to look forward to when I return. 😁

one thing that filipino meals tend to have is that they are absolutely easy to make, altho some is harder to prepare, but the ingredients is almost available anywhere. you have the trinity of ginisa: Ginger, Garlic, Onion trinity of panlasa: Soy sauce, vinegar, patis trinity of pampasarap: asin, paminta, MSG
