In your opinion what's the most important thing to keep in mind for a fast corexy (motors, speed, weight...)
@MattThePrintingNerd
@MattThePrintingNerd Год назад
At >50k acceleration it's all about balance, so in every step of the design process I ask myself where the center of gravity for the moving axis is and if there is something I could do to move the moving mass as near as possible to this point.

I had an idea, what if to make the head smaller and lighter you put the part cooling fans behind the printer and used an appropriate sized hose to blow the air. Almost a bowden part cooling fan if you will
@MattThePrintingNerd
@MattThePrintingNerd Год назад
Yeah that might be an improvement in the future, but keep in mind that for quality prints it's important to cool on the spot ;-)

@@MattThePrintingNerd the CPAP fan vez uses blows a ton of air. It can handle some serious speeds. It is very loud at high speeds but at 30, barely audible and more air than a 5015

I wonder when people figure out they need to counterbalance the moving parts with weights moving in opposite dirctions... That way you can keep increasing the power & acceleration without the thing flying off your table!

That sounds like a neat project you could start, I would like to see how a counter weight gantry performs ;-)

nice i realy like the 100 but too much movement of it's body i think if unmovable parts is filled with a high wieghed material will make it more stable also putting a ceramic plat or something hard under it will help too, will begin nuilding my own the 100 one month from now after finishing my collage study.

Motion speed is not the limiting factor for fast printing, the current bottleneck is the melting power of the hotend which is way worse when fighting against gravity

It's not about printing at that speed. This demonstration show that the linear motion system is capable of moving in such speeds without blocking. So there is a lot of headroom for movement in the stable area. I've recorded a whole video on this topic! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XTewJmiUYmY.html

Riesen Respekt!!!
