The name Shotgun Scientist has turned out to be a perfect name for this show. I look forward to seeing your youtube blogs. Thanks fir always offering helpful information. I started out hunting with a 16 gauge & had access to a 12 gauge, but for some reason I always enjoyed shooting my Grandpas Mossberg & Sons A bolt 16 gauge. I could hit quail with it easier than the 12 gauge. I still want to get into reloading, just watching listening fir now.
Mate some more 410 load out vids would be sick. .395 roundballs, .401 slugs from a bullet mould. buck and bullet loads etc. I have a load of home cast .358 would that work?
@@ClarkesonTheMarksman I have a mold for that size, we use it for 10 gauge buckshot. We’ve done a video shooting them at the range in 410 too actually.
I actually own the tristar semi auto 16 gauge and absolutely love it probably my favorite duck gun by far, just got into reloading glad I found your channel as I’m having a tough time trying to find good load data for 16 tungsten loads
@@theshotgunscientists thank you so much I found it that helps out a lot, been shooting boss which is great but I wanted even more knock down power with the tungsten without paying a fortune for custom loads
What a beauty of a 16 gauge and that roll crrimp was awesome. I wish my 410 rounds using the BP crimper looking that good. You did not even use a drill press just a hand drill.
Kust what the doctor ordered! Now that I'm bswithing from 12 to 16, Im eager to start loadin my own, though mostly 7 1/2 and 8 lead shot. Woukd like to see a component /tool isting video for the 16 specifically.
I have a old remington pump 16 gauge. It shoots lead sheets good and right to poa. I have ordered couple different custom load tss and shot thru it. Both shot great patterns but both hit very low. Any idea why that is.
Not really in our experience and from everyone else is doing. .685 in 10 gauge and .670 in 12 gauge makes extremely tight and dense 40 and 50 yard patterns.
where are you getting the 16ga heavy load data...FYI...If you want to replace that poly choke barrel on your 11-48... there is a 16ga barrel for sale on Gunbroker. He wants 349.00...considering a good condition 11-48 are running from 800 to 1200... not a bad investment.... just say'in
I paid 325 for the gun honestly. I get data from manuals, tss shot dealers, and forums I trust. This load is directly from a tss shot dealer minus 1/8 ounce of shot and replaced a felt wad with a nitro card so the pellets don’t embed.
No. Less likely to damage them because they usually have less constriction than the turkey chokes used with tss.The wad is what protects the barrel, not the choke.
