Join us on the 30 DAY STRETCHING Challenge for Beginners! Today we'll be doing a Full Body Active Flexibility flow. By practicing active flexibility exercises, we learn to use our muscles and joints to hold a stretch rather than using an external force such as our hands or gravity. It's helpful to think of "active" as engaging your muscles to help you reach a little further into the movement. Whereas passive flexibility relies on body weight, a strap or another external force while muscles are relaxed.
Active stretching is more effective than passive stretches for improving flexibility. Active flexibility trains us to mobilize our joints and strengthening the connection between our mind to our muscles. I tend to include a few active stretches here and there. After this routine, maybe you'll be able to identify them in my other videos!
