Roy Williamson.....you were privileged to see and hear him! In 500 years he will be the legendary composer of Scotland's National Anthem. Alba Go Brach
Sung by the musical genius that wrote it, the late and very great Roy Williamson a true music legend with his equally brilliant partner in many a good night at Glasgow's City Halls and a whole host of other venues, Ronnie Brown. There has never been finer than The Corries
Heard Roy singing this live on more than one occasion.Never let us forget that he composed and wrote this song which relates to Scotland as it was and should be.
rest in peace roy that song makes me proud too be scottish just wish roy was still with us then we would have many more beautiful scottish songs absolutely beautiful song i seen them live in beauly once wen i was visiting ma uncle the minute they sung i got goosebumps such a patriotic song well done guys rip roy
I grew up watching the Corries on the black and white t v we had, they were there entertaining us both in ballads and a laugh,They were the best and I wont see their like's again, great to take a trip down memory lane with Roy and Ronnie. Derrick MacAngus
My wife`s gone home for the festive..............and left me here in the `New World`, Hogmany`s coming soon, and i`m here alone with the Corries and my mate Johnnie Walker.
Absoloutly fantastic , im 32 years old and remember watching these guys on TV as a wee nipper in Scotland , amazing ,i had the pleasure of seeing the remaining corrie singing the same song at celtic Park glasgow with 51,000 people to watch scotland hammer the faroe islands 6-0 at football (soccer) hairs on the back of your neck stuff
FLOWER OF SCOTLAND IS A VERY GOOD SONG ONE OF THE BEST THE CORRIES FLOWER OF SCOTLAND I SING THIS TO MY MUM AND DAD AND MY LATE HUSBAND HIS NAME IS ALAN HE DIED ON 31ST MARCH 1999 I STILL MISS HIM SO MUCH I LOVE HIM SO MUCH MY MUM AND DAD MISS HIM TOO HE WAS ONE OF BEST HUSBAND IN THE WORLD MY NICKNAME WAS SMELLY BUM RHODA GILES
This is a great song but it shouldn’t be the national anthem. Much worse than a rendition of like the highland cathedral, which is a much better anthem, musically, and to be honest inspires more patriotism in most people, and it doesn’t even have (official) lyrics.
CALL ME ALL THE NAMES YOU WANT, I HATE THE ENGLISH AND THAT WILL LIVE WITH ME AND MY FAMILY TILL DEATH AND IT WILL CONTNUE FOR Generations untill the end of time. SAOR ALBA GU BRATH
